A Pandora's box has been opened and the results are a wild mess. I can hardly believe my eyes.
Is anyone watching this late session? Judge Glanville is having it out with atty Ashleigh Merchant...very heated exchange.

Extremely disappointed in judge. Have been for a while and this is proof of his inexperience of laws.

Does not know whether its civil or criminal contempt...

Is it more about control?

Aren't his 5 minutes more like one hour?

Judge Glanville is not allowing the attorneys in the hallway inside the court. "There's no room". I mean..the jury box is empty right now ......

Glanville allowed Ashleigh Merchant into the courtroom as she is representing Steel in this contempt.

Glanville doesn’t understand the difference between criminal and civil contempt. Ashleigh Merchant has to come in and school Glanville on the basics of criminal versus civil contempt. Glanville seems to maybe understand he’s messed up and leaves the bench to return “in five.”

A YSL recap:Judge Glanville had a duty to at least let the defense counsel know he was having an ex parte meeting. Glanville fails to do that and gets angry that Steel knows about it at all. Glanville then chooses to punish Steel for having the notice the judge owed to him.

Whew! Attorney Ashleigh Merchant is a powerful opponent that I can't imagine going against . She would scare me right out of my shoes..

Make your wrong a right, and admit the error, and let's move on. That would be the right thing to do. You're human. Human's make mistakes all the time. Stop the madness while you can.

On the bright side the State's been quiet.

I am not on a side, other than the side of justice, just saying. moo ;):)

Ashleigh is entirely correct that the judge is inappropriately conflating civil and criminal contempt. It also isn’t information exclusive to Brian Steel. He could interview others to find out the information he seeks. Finally, there’s argument that this is a protected whistleblower matter on top of an ethical conundrum.

Almost 7 p.m. in Atlanta and they're still at the courthouse. Glanville took a break to think about civil v. criminal
contempt.

Woody gets to go home. We’re still not sure about Brian Steel.
