Some times skeletons stay hidden in closet, sometimes they come out dancing at the most inopportune time.

Especially when skeletons have been accumulating for a very long time.

“The buck stops with Paul Howard. The Fulton sheriff, prosecutors and deputies all ultimately report to Howard. As a former assistant DA who worked under Paul Howard, I am sorry to say Paul Howard has a pattern as to allow criminals, especially former athletes, to flout the law. While I worked for him, thousands of felony cases were not processed.”

“We’ve never agreed to testify,” Samuel said in an interview immediately after Howard’s press conference. “We’ve never agreed to cooperate. We’ve never agreed to plead guilty.”

When told that Rolfe’s attorney had contradicted that claim, Howard told reporters, “I’m not surprised by that. We’ve already interviewed him twice and I can say what he’s said to us.”

Yup, they are calling in sick.

Atlanta Police disputes rumors of mass walkouts

Atlanta Police spokesman Sgt. John Chafee told 11Alive that suggestions that multiple officers from each of the department's zones had walked off the job were "inaccurate."

However," Chafee said, "the department is experiencing a higher than usual number of call outs with the incoming shift."

THANK YOU!!!
I did not add all the latest videos because I want to make sure they are MSM but I think if they are all approved they need to go in the media thread because the whole story needs to be told - I need to add the latest on the DA as well - thanks to everyone who posted all the links

Thank you for your post. I just read about the Brian Nichols Massacre. Don't recall hearing about it back then. The judge who presided over his case was murdered, a sheriff's deputy, and a federal agent was later murdered. Horrible. Can't imagine why such an inept and corrupt person is still in office.

You are welcome. I was a bit surprised when I started looking into some of the claims regarding the DA. He has been in office since 1997 and I think the complaints go back almost as far.

I remember Nichols massacre well. It was so horrendous. At the time I lived very close to where he was ultimately captured and was holding a young woman hostage.

Atlanta, GA — The head of Atlanta’s police union confirmed Wednesday that officers from the Atlanta Police Department in Zones 3 and 6 walked off the job Wednesday afternoon.

Vince Champion, southeast regional director of the International Brotherhood of Police officers, said that police officers had stopped answering calls midshift, in response to charges against Officer Garrett Rolfe who is accused of murdering Rayshard Brooks in Atlanta.

“The union, we would never advocate this. We wouldn’t advocate a blue flu,” Champion said. “We don’t know the numbers. Apparently we’re learning that command staff are asking outlying counties for support and aren’t getting it.”

Decaturish has calls out to public affairs officers in Gwinnett, DeKalb and Cobb counties for confirmation. A message to the spokesperson for Atlanta Police was not immediately returned.

Atlanta Police walkout following murder charge against officer who shot Rayshard Brooks

A spokesperson for APD called reports of a walkout “inaccurate.”

“Earlier suggestions that multiple officers from each zone had walked off the job were inaccurate,” the spokesperson said. “However, the department is experiencing a higher than usual number of call-outs with the incoming shift. We have enough resources to maintain operations and remain able to respond to incidents throughout the city.”

Some Atlanta police call in sick, mayor asks for them to honor commitment - CNN

Atlanta (CNN) - Hours after a fired police officer was charged with felony murder for fatally shooting a man in the back, Atlanta police officers are not responding to calls in three of the department's six zones, multiple sources within the Atlanta Police Department told CNN on Wednesday evening.

She said she thinks morale is down tenfold.

Police officers in Atlanta will start to follow the "rules" of police officers in Chicago. Respond as slowly as possible to any calls. Assess the situation before you get out of the car. Re-assess potential for trouble, if it seems like it might be messy, call for backup. Stay in car. And try to be somewhere else if there is any shooting.

Hmmm...why is the homicide rate skyrocketing in Chicago?

Murders, shootings up after first quarter of 2020

I believe Chicago has high homicide rates for a number of years. Already this year, there are 245 and that's just for the first six months. I recall reading a few years ago of children being shot in drive bys. One woman was driving her daughter (6 year old) to school and the daughter got shot. She has since been confined to a wheelchair. I wondered how anyone with children could live in such an environment.

I agree. These charges have me really upset.
And yes. I want a grand jury to review.
There's a lot of fast and furious accusation's going on in a highly emotional time.
Without a doubt in my opinion, law enforcement is very much on edge.
Hell, I know, I would be, with all that's been going on.
What a freaking nightmare.
For both sides of the equation.
IMO what's happening to the United States right now, is being inflamed by social media and MSN.
I will NEVER agree to disbanding our police forces, or, our border patrols and the Immigration and Enforcement Bureau.
Are these pandering politicians so very stupid?
Yes. Stupid like a fox in a hen house.
The whole country of America is NOT screwed up!
That is the Fact.
Please be careful to whom you trust your news feed.
Please protect and monitor what your children are listening to.
A very big MOO.

My thoughts exactly. This stinks to high heaven. IMO

It’s not a walk-out, it’s a call-in. Lol

I'm sure Mr. Brook's family is saddened at his death. But referring to him as a 'great man' to fit their agenda is wrong IMO. He was not a 'great man' if you look at his criminal history. His children will never see their dad again but how much did they see him before his death if he was in and out of jail? They should be honest when making public statements. Everyone knows by now he was not a 'great man'. JMO. Rayshard Brooks' Own Family Accused Him of Cruelty to Children, Family Battery, Beatings

Someone upthread asked, Why didn't the officer just allow him to call someone to take him home, as he'd named several people in the area.

1) Since he had all of those contacts, why didn't HE call one of them and not drive intoxicated from the start?

2) In most states the threshold for a DUI has been .08 BAC for decades now. If they allow him to call for a ride, how is that equality? If we want equality, that must include equal application of the law.

Additionally, if they allow him to call for a ride, one or both officers must stay there to insure that he doesn't drive off. Then they'll need to make sure he gets safely into the vehicle of whoever is giving them a ride. Budgets are stretched thin everywhere. Who's going to pay additional taxes for the extra police that this would require?

3) Selectively arresting for DUI leaves LE, departments, and municipalities open to lawsuits for discrimination.

4) DUI is one of the most cut and dried offenses for which one can be arrested. A breathalyzer is completely objective. It doesn't see color. With other offenses, the evidence can be subjective, but not this one.

5) Black lives do matter, as do ALL lives. And so do choices.

6) If we're going toward a restorative justice model, I'm all for it. However, many, many laws have to be changed. That officer was doing his duty. He was lawfully performing the duties that legally he was obligated to carry out. With cruiser and body cams that turn on automatically, an officer can't just give someone a pass when they become aware of illegal activity. They have to follow the stop to a conclusion, either no infraction or infraction and move onto the next step. The only area that I'm aware of where there is leeway is by being able to give a warning for speeding. Maybe they could legalize nationwide a possible one time warning for DUI. However, MADD has fought for decades for the current laws. And I'm pretty sure that MADD his comprised of every race, creed, and color, because death by a drunk driver is no respecter of anyone.

7) Justice reform must include better community relations (they aren't the bad guy), teaching kids first at home and at school that offers can be trusted and should be respected, and teaching people what to do when they're stopped by police.

8) The concept among some communities that all cops are bad and that black cops are sellouts...this just has to go.
