GA - Serahni Harper, 1, found dead at Columbus day care, 5 Oct 2011

Donna Hutto has been arrested and chargd with involantary manslaughter in the death of little Serahni Harper. Serahni died in October and according to her parents they believed she had just stopped breathing in her sleep.

Thankfully police investigated further and Hutto made claims she put Serahni in her car seat for a nap and the car seat had turned over.

Do all daycares put children in their car seats to nap? I understand it's a usual practice for infants when parents carry them in the house and don't want to disturb them. This little girl was just starting to walk. I'm thinking that may be dangerous to leave a little when you have alot of other children to care for and she may be able to get out of the seat.

[Donna] Hutto was arrested in 2012 for involuntary manslaughter in connection with the death of one-year-old Serahni Harper.

On Monday, Aug. 18 the family gathered outside the courtroom, and first responders and other witnesses were inside the courtroom along with Serahni‘s grandfather as Judge Jordan granted a fifth and final continuance to the defense.
