I buy things like that too but what's-his-face getting the light bulbs just shows that he remembered to get them and forgot about a flesh and blood human being, his own child.

It makes him look even worse if that's even possible.

I agree she was just shielding herself from the cameras. The media took it upon themselves, as usual, to say she was "seemingly upset".

Yep - I agree with both of these - I was a little ticked off that the media gave her the benefit of that doubt....

I thought the search for stored light bulbs was a little odd but then I thought - "Good! They are leaving NO stone unturned - being very meticulous - looking for little bits and pieces to add to the pile of things.

I have a friend who stockpiles all of her household necessities. She buys dozens of packages of toilet tissue, paper towels, soap re-fills, and yes - light bulbs. Her basement is organized like a store. So if he by any weird chance had such a stash - then the trip for light bulbs and then depositing them in the car might be some kind of clue. Just gave me a good feeling that they are thinking of everything (hopefully). Also - you never know what might influence a juror - if someone hears some weird bit of information and it just clicks for them - this is not normal!!!

I keep thinking of that "tip of the ice burg" statement and know there is more coming........

They did need the bulbs for the vanity mirror, but what bothers me is the investigators are checking their "storage" to see if they have bulbs. To me, and I'm so NOT defending JRH here, but I don't think that's relevant, IMO.. I buy things only to find out later I didn't need to.

If there was an ample supply in your home already, you wouldn't need a reason to go buy more. That's why it's relevant. Did he need an excuse to go to the car after lunch but his lunch buddies took off too soon? They are covering all bases and I'm glad that they are.

has anyone heard anything about during one of lh's previous relationships a child was left in the car? someone asked me if i had heard that. i hadn't. they thought it was mentioned on some talk radio station out of atlanta. i've been googling and can't find anything about this.

Honestly, I think the purchasing the light bulbs was just a convenient way for RH to pop his head in that car after lunch. Nothing more. Even if they needed them at home.

They probably served two things for him:

1. Placing the lightbulbs in the car gave him an easy way to check and see if Cooper was dead yet.

2. It may even be that it was at that point that he wanted to 'freak out" and discover Cooper in front of witnesses (his friends) after checking to make sure that Coop was dead. It has been stated that his friends took off and drove away really quickly, in a matter of seconds. So that didn't work out for him. Buying the lightbulbs at lunch and then having his friends drop him off at his car as he placed them inside could have been his way to facilitate the discovery. I don't think he counted on his friends driving away so fast. He wanted an audience.

3. Seeing as that did not work out, this may be the reason that he hung back and watched the other individual pass his car before returning to work. He wanted Cooper found by someone else or in front of someone else early on in the day. In that work parking lot. This way he could play the role of shocked grieving father when notified of his "tragic mistake".

Not 7 hours later, where he was likely panicked and trying to figure out where to stage his discovery since no one ever noticed Cooper in that parking lot. Driving that putrid car for 10 minutes made him look extremely guilty and less like an accident. I do not believe that he originally planned the discovery the way it turned out.

He was forced to "discover" Cooper in that random parking lot because his original plan went awry.

Didn't have a clue about this case, figured it was another parent with a "deet de dee" moment, we get them all the time with "transplants" moving to Arizona. So I was......"you've got to be kidding, all this for a child left in a car seat?"

But this case..........WTH?

Around here, you can bust out a car window, LEGALLY, if you see a pet or child in a locked car and the temps are above 70.

Maybe someone needs to invent a buzzer that goes off when you have a kid in a car seat, it'll go off if there's weight in the car seat when you open the door. Sounds like a good idea, got to protect all those people who grew up with "child proof caps" and can't figure it out if there's a warning sticker.

When I was growing up in the 60's, there was child proof nothing, just the "skull and crossbones" warning. No car seats, fences around pools, "save the children", seat belts weren't even mandatory in vehicles and who actually used them if they were installed, and kids rode in the bed of trucks. None of the kids I grew up with drowned, cooked in a car, were ejected from a vehicle, or poisoned themselves, now it seems like a weekly, if not daily occurrence.

But this incident obviously doesn't reflect our "dummied down society".

"you need a license to buy a dog, to drive a car---hell, you even need a license to catch a fish. But they'll let any butt-reaming a**hole be a father." Todd (Keanu Reeves-"Parenthood")
No truer words were ever spoken.:twocents:

Also CC jail has specific days and times for each pods visitation. The visitation is via video monitor.

I would love to see his commissary purchases. Wonder if they will be made public at some point. Nothing to do with the case just being nosey!!

How many computers/phones/iPads were actually in the car? Seems like a lot to have in one's car at one time.

Hi all! I have followed this case since day one and watched the prelim hearing. I have two opposing lines of convictions. My primary is that JRH orchestrated this, but after watching the hearing closely, a 2nd conviction is forming. I wouldn't be shocked if this is a case of "Snapped". How better could one (who may be self-absorbed and not bonded with their child) could retaliate against a cheating husband than to set him up for murder. I guess her statement at the daycare prompted that, along with her unemotional appearance at the hearing (and a lot of other conveniently well played out statements). The only thing that doesn't fit that scenario is the stop to ChickFilA. Aside from that, if I were cold hearted and vengeful, it sure would be sweet justice to a vindictive person to watch their filandering husband go down in flames while sitting back and pretending to stand by them..

On another note, do we yet have any evidence that anyone saw Cooper alive and moving? Not just "sleeping"?

Bernina, they actually have a device almost exactly like that. It was featured this week in the news, likely in response to this case.

Not for someone in IT biz. At least not what I've seen. My IT guys have a biz phone, work phone and several diff storage devices and laptops at any given time. And it's a good thing he did because it will give investigators greater access to his activities.

I think it says a lot about Leanna that she even went to the jail to (attempt?) to see Harris. I guess she really meant it when she said at Cooper's funeral that she was NOT upset or angry with Harris.

MOO

IMO this is a CYA move. I am sure she is now freaking out that she could be next in line to be charged. If she doesn't support RH, he could flip on her. They need each other to keep up with the "accident" story. I personally think they both thought they would get away with it.

I wonder why he is refusing visitors? Does he want to not incriminate himself further? Side note-He is back in jail and no longer in the infirmary.

So this is where everyone is. Hi all!

Let me just copy and paste myself in this thread then lol.
Code:
Her speech at the memorial service creeped me out. It was like a list of reasons she had written before the murder to justify her killing her son. Another poster on here said something that I found very interesting: if Mom and Dad were both so afraid of their child dying in a car, wouldn't they be even MORE alert to their child? Wouldn't they have a sort of system to try to preveng this from happening? Like for example leaving a toy in the front seat as a reminder or something along those lines.

Thanks, that makes sense. Also wondered if the iPad was being used by Cooper, maybe to play games or watch cartoons.

Cooper was alive, alert, and engaged with his father on camera during breakfast at Chik-fil-a at 9:00 A.M. He was also strapped back into the carseat by his "father" directly after and then forgotten during the 30 second drive to the traffic light, where Ross decided to take a left rather than a right and drove to work instead of Cooper's daycare.

This is not a snapped situation, at all.

I'm of the opinion that this was premeditated by Ross and likely by Ross and Leanna.

Crikey! You guys are fast. Marking my spot.

everything about these two creep me out. he could remember lightbulbs but he couldn't remember his son. seems to me like if leaving their son in a hot car was their worst feat that would've been the thing they were most diligent about taking care of.

The video and certain days are fairly stand in Metro Atlanta. Some you have to also make an appointment.

As a side note, once he gets out of the infirmary, he could get someone to get him a greendot and then he could get himself a cell....

I read it in the comment section of an article two days after this happened... but never saw it again.
