[modsnip]

""You wonder where this stuff comes from," Officer Mike Bowman told PEOPLE on Thursday. Bowman was referring to reports that the child's father, Justin Ross Harris, did an Internet search for how long it takes for an animal to die in a hot car. "

[modsnip] I believe LE and that's good enough for me. He didn't deny it, period. Read his quote underneath that one.

I am watching the press conference right now - thank you so much for finding that footage popsicle!

no mention about an obvious odor let alone the smell of death.

I got all the way to the last 40 seconds and then the stupid thing decided to reload. Watching again to make sure I did not miss an important thing such as comment on odor.

I can't find it either. Though since the trialthatshallnotbenamed, I stopped trusting people saying "it's smells like a damn dead body in there" as evidence. Proved to be irrelevant :(

It didn't prove to be irrelevant.

The problem was that jury. Everyone with two brain cells to rub together were eliminated by voir dire.

After getting Harris’ statement, one of the first calls that an investigator would make would be to the daycare. The first question I would ask: “What is your procedure when children are supposed to be there but don’t show up?” Many daycares are hyper-vigilant about children being dropped off. Did the daycare call the Harris home or Harris at work wondering about the whereabouts of the child?

After parsing Harris’ story, a seasoned investigator would question Harris getting in his car after work and not noticing the dead child for a couple of miles. The smell of death is not one that is easily confused with dirty gym clothes or a diaper that wasn’t tossed out.

Yes, They are. The cops are saying that it is not true and just rumor.

""You wonder where this stuff comes from," Officer Mike Bowman told PEOPLE on Thursday. Bowman was referring to reports that the child's father, Justin Ross Harris, did an Internet search for how long it takes for an animal to die in a hot car. "

You wonder where this stuff comes from is not exactly a denial. It could also be taken to mean LE is scrambling to find the leak or wishes to appear not to know who the leak is (IF INDEED ONE EXISTS)

Still chalking the animal searches and the overwhelming odor in vehicle [eta AS RUMOR]

In response to question from reporter about computer searches PIO states they are not discussing evidence gained from search warrants or anything of evidenciary value to protect the case.

Again, not a denial, more like a refusal to discuss or answer with specificity. Neither confirmed nor denied in my book is still rumor, but . . .

It is rumor. It is not substantiated and it is now being called rumor by the powers that be.
That is the end for me. This reporter has it wrong.

Fair enough. I like to go with facts when I follow cases, so I will continue to do so. 2 LE gave info to reporters and I believe it at this time

Agree to disagree.

Sorry I see nothing about smell from an official source.

Oh for Pete's sake!

The reporter did his job. He's not some gossip. He's not a liar, flunky, or some pimply faced, fresh out of journalism class trying to make a name for himself, nobody.

He found two law enforcement sources to speak to him anonymously..and reported it.

That's how it's done.

I do take it as denial. I think if it were true he would have said," we are not prepared to comment on any facts or issues with the case at this point.. Ongoing investigation and such.

Let me know what you find because I am searching my behind off over here too.

There is nothing about death smell in this case at all. Nothing. Reporters get it wrong, They embellish, But in this case there is nothing official. I don't buy it. That is how rumors get started.

According to the reporter. No substantiation no police comment. It makes it rumor for me.

Law enforcement is also saying there is much, much more to this than just an accidental leaving of a child in a car. I heard that on WSB radio here in Atlanta. There was an hour long special on this case this afternoon. I think People magazine may have this wrong... either Officer Bowman was referring to where people get something else or he was misquoted. They are now reporting that incriminating evidence was found on BOTH his office AND his home computer. They are not saying what that evidence was.... a reporter said that the few things that are in the media are just "the tip of the iceberg".

If you can somehow hear this: 11 pm-midnight tonight a re-airing of WSB Special Reporter’s Roundtable’ on the Death of Cooper Harris hosted by Erik Erickson.

That may be true however, he took Cooper out at CFL at put him back in. That photo was tweeted out by a LE agency last week...forget which one but I think it was NC.
BBM

So, it looks like Mr Harris KNEW his baby was in the suv . That, and the going out to his vehicle around lunch break or whenever, just makes him appear guilty as heck.:banghead:
:moo:

Is there a link to the photo or tweet, popsicle, of him placing Cooper in the suv at the restaurant ?

I am done with that reporter. I just don't trust him for real and valid info. But I do believe there is more to this if they charged him so quickly. I don't know what it is they know but I don't think it was because of the computer. They would not have had that so quick. HE is an IT guy. He knows how to make it hard to find stuff and to cover his tracks. AND it seems less likely that he would search anything incriminating on his own computers or ones he had access too.

I think that it is hard to know and when rumor is stuck in the mix, It makes it harder to really see the case and know what is really going on.

FWIW... Here is an article from June 25, 2014, that mentions the search on Harris's computer for death of animals in cars...

http://mdjonline.com/view/full_stor...-heat?instance=special _coverage_right_column

Fox 5’s Randy Travis reported Wednesday investigators seized Harris’ office computer following his arrest. A law enforcement source told Fox 5 someone searched for information on how long it would take an animal to die in a hot car.

Can someone confirm this for me- I don't want to spread rumor and I'm not sure even if it was true since it came from a scene witness and they can and seem to start questioning what they saw etc... But does anyone remember a male witness describing Ross speeding into to lot, running into the pizza place and in the same statement mentioning that he himself or someone was helping him unbuckle the child and to get him out of the car?
I also remember reading a witness attempted CPR.
If this is true wouldn't the witness have mentioned a foul order? Again of its true I think it would be the only witness close enough to have smelled anything if it did indeed smell.

Also on the warrant would smell of decomp normally be listed as probable
cause or something to indicate they thought he was lying about what happened?

And again it comes only from one reporter. And the cops are saying it is rumor.

I just don't believe it.
