BBM. Exactly, ITA! When I drive my husband's big ol' truck that has a backup cam, I ALWAYS look behind me, and yes, ESPECIALLY in a parking lot. Whenever I'm backing up any vehicle, I always hear my drivers ed instructor's voice (from many years ago) saying: you should always be looking in the direction that the vehicle is moving. So, if I'm backing up, I'm looking back...backup cam or not. Backup cams are helpful, esp. for anything directly behind you, but I would never totally rely on them. JMO and my :twocents:.

I seem to remember that even in ads I've seen for vehicles with backup cams, there has been a statement provided that you should always do a visual check as well.

BBM. I heard that question brought up on CNN last night. If so, it's over, IMO.
However, in my experience in following a few cases where parents have either been convicted of, or are strongly suspected to be the guilty of the death of their child, there is never such a clear cut motive.

It is usually the lack of such clear motive that prevents some people from ever believing the parent is guilty.

Jeffrey Macdonald, Darlie Routier, The Ramsey's, the McCann's, etc.

I would think it would be a clear motive also - but I can just hear the defense atty's claiming that because she once worked there that it was only natural for her to have insurance on the child. grrrrrrr

Also I'd like to know if 9:30 am is late for work or usual report time. I'd also like to know why the child wasn't fed already by 9am that morning BEFORE he left. What was going on that morning inside that home? Was breakfast served? Was it not? Why? I hv a lot of questions; questions I'm hoping only an FBI profiler will be able to answer. 9am is late in the morning for a child this age, to be taken to eat. I also have issues with the way he looks in his photos but I will save that for another time.

Do we know for sure that Cooper ate breakfast at CFA?

I hope this gets put aside soon.

I know; I've scoured all the sites and links that I possibly could and I thought from the get go it was said she was a stay at home mom. That was when I posted; why was he even in DayCare then? Esp at his age. So ALL of this "evidence" direct or otherwise points to me; possible collusion....for a reason. My theory is a life insurance policy. IT IS important to establish whether this mom was stay at home or working and what her normal day to day schedule is. It's not OT it's not out of bounds, it's relevant to the crime.

There were reports that he ordered food for his son that morning. No way to verify that, except scour the links. There is video. Video so far that the media has been excluded from obtaining.

Gabel says Harris' defense team will have to contend with the damaging evidence that emerged over the weekend.

Gabel says there are potential pitfalls for the defense who could waive the probable cause portion of the hearing, fearful more damaging testimony could hurt their case in the court of public opinion.

"What we know today is probably only the tip of the iceberg in this case, and if we learn a whole lot more from the probable cause hearing, the defense, which had enjoyed a groundswell of support -- at least, initially -- may lose some of that," Gabel said.

If you suddenly have a jarring memory that you left your child in the carseat all day, would you yank your car off the road and cross two lanes of traffic to get to a parking lot to leap out and check, or would you scan local businesses to see if you might be able to find a medical facility, before you had a chance to even LOOK at your child back there?

That would look guilty to me. Really?? You suddenly recalled your child was back there and had been in his seat all day, and instead of slamming the car to a stop and looking at the first opportunity, you drive around a bit looking for a medical facility? Sorry, that smacks of guilt.

I just don't understand how he forgot the baby in the car? He just ate breakfast with him, and drove less than a mile to work. And if he was use to dropping the child off at daycare, why didn't he go get him that day? Or attempt to? He said he was heading to meet friends. Was the wife supposed to pick child up from daycare? So many unanswered questions.

Torturing hapless grieving families? REALLY?

Cooper is a victim, a baby, who died an incredibly torturous death and the police believe STRONGLY that his father purposely killed him in the cruelest of ways. Further, there is enough evidence to charge him.

Now we are going as far as to call RH hapless? RH was about as Hapless as a FOX.

I will never ever understand the amount of defending him in the face of this evidence, in the face of eyewitnesses that stated over and over again that he seemed to be acting, in the face of damning internet searches and in the face of a REEKING car.

I guess RH was not only beyond hapless but he was also clearly blind, and had no sense of smell.

I wonder how the poor man was able to get into his car and show up for work everyday without a personal assistant.

My Father in Law permanently lost his sense of smell after an illness. I keep wondering if they're going to try and say this about JH in his defence! Trouble hearing (from the old bottle rocket), no sense of smell.... Like those three monkeys, 'see no evil, hear no evil.." But rolled into one!

Family and friends of the Ross and Leanna Harris have been extremely tight-lipped. Cobb County's sheriff denied a request by 11alive to see the jail log to find out who has visited Harris in jail. They also refused to release the audio of the phone callHarris made from the jail to those at his son's funeral on Saturday.

My understanding is that they also took down the on-line petition and the donations dried up.

And this proves to me that LE is not trying to influence public opinion. I'm watching CNN right now (VinnieP), and LE are not offering statements to them either.

He was not usually picking up his child after work. So that is just self explanatory.

No, but he was "usually" dropping him off at daycare. He forgot to drop him off that day, but later in the day he remembered he was meeting up with friends.

Really? When I drive my sisters car that has a back up camera, when I'm in a parking lot, the back up camera doesn't show cars coming down the aisle of a parking lot imho. I always look as I slowly back up.

Thanks for your opinion as I never even fathomed that folks would back up in a parking lot without looking both ways, and over their shoulders, even with a backup camera, but I guess you do!

ETA: What is his model/make/year on the car he was driving. Wonder if that is a possibility to sleuth and consider

I don't know where Mom works if she does. In reading last week there was mentioned something about Davita....maybe being a donation site for them. Davita here is kidney dialysis......and I actually know a nutritionist who works for them so possibly maybe Mom works there???? Dunno.

YW I cannot support either parent in this case. I felt vindicated last night when I heard the FBI profiler talk about how the searches ARE suspicious and that the funeral behavior IS suspicious and it WILL be taken into consideration by the FBI and IT is being done as we speak. Per the FBI last night on CNN.....

I cannot and will not in the face of evidence that we know today support either parent. This is by no means an "attack" on anyone...it's not only my opinion but the FBI's as well as CNN.

I want to know when and how much the life insurance policy on this child is/was and the tox screen. I think he drugged him at ChicFila. WE will see. This is my theory...it doesn't have to support anyone elses. I will NOT stand for what this mother did at that funeral and the FBI isn't going to either. IT is Suspect. Period. The Profiler stated that her behavior at the funeral was suspect and it will be interesting to see if further charges are to come. That is what was stated. And it's also my belief that "they were in this together".

It's not rocket science. There is something very wrong with this couple IMMHO:tantrum:

BBM. I woke up this morning wondering why this case (and this couple) was bothering me so much. Then it hit me. Billie Dunn and Shawn Adkins. Two odd characters that very few (if any) could understand. There was never a conviction in that case - it just faded away.

We may have a comparable personality profile in trying to figure out the actions of this couple as well. We'll see.

Just my opinion,

Mel

Yup! After being hit by a car crossing the street- and I was 13 in 8th grade, my mother insisted on walking me to my Jr. High across the street for the whole next year. Talk about mortified!

I now have an image of a mum with the worst kind of hunched up monosyllabic teenage boy trailing several steps behind trying to look as if they are not together. :floorlaugh::floorlaugh:
