GA - Suspicion over heat death of Cooper, 22 mo., Cobb County, June 2014, #7

Earlier I read speculation that the defense *might* choose to waive this hearing. The attorney who was speaking said that he may fear the evidence would taint the jury pool or public opinion or something like that.

So do we now know 100% that the hearing will proceed? I just read that the media is already staking out their locations at the courthouse. I'm sure it will be a circus.

JMO some of us here want to believe the best in everyone and can't believe RH could have murdered his child. But like Randy Travis said I think terrible news is coming. Will some of you defend him then?

I am reserving judgement as I have always thought in the US it is innocent until proven guilty.

It would have been a double thud but I'm not falling for it this time - looks like the headline I saw yesterday and misread it to say "the day before" only to reread it after making a total fool of myself in a post here to find it actually said "before the day".

I don't trust this headline, it's probably a deliberate 'misprint' to grab clicks.

Depends on whether the "terrible news" proves to me that he's guilty. It's just that simple. Call it defending, or whatever. It matters not. I either am convinced that he's guilty based on what I've seen and believe to be true, or I'm not. Right now, I'm not.

The rest of us are free to believe him to be guilty and say so.

He's not sitting in jail right now with no bond because he's presumed innocent.

Not if Leanna's account of Cooper sleeping between them the prior two nights before his death are accurate.

I'm really not trying to be difficult, but you can't get anywhere, here, in a minute and a half. It's right at a mile from Chick Fil A to corporate/daycare. In that short span there are five traffic lights. On a weekday morning. I think 5 minutes would have been a good time.

It's kind of a moot point to me though. I can't comprehend forgetting my girls at all....

I wasn't timing it to the daycare or his work, just to the lights that he should have turned at, the first set of lights. That is where he first "forgot". Any distance he drove beyond those lights are additional minutes he could have remembered and turned around, but didn't. IMO

Indeed.

Using the 'innocent until proven guilty' rule I take it we are all supposed to believe that Casey Anthony is actually innocent? I think I'll pass on that one.

Question. One of the reasons I never forgot my child in the car even though when she was Cooper's age, I only had her every other week is that every time we were in the car together on our way to daycare, we were engaged. Even if she didn't talk to me, I would talk to her. I'd point out things that were going by, etc. When she was rear facing, I did this even moreso because I wanted her to hear my voice and know I was there. That even if she couldn't see me, I hadn't abandoned her. After I found her slumped over in her carseat the day we took her home from the hospital, I also used mirrors so I could make sure she was okay. Do most people not do this? I thought all of those things were very common. I don't see how you would forget someone you were talking to, but maybe I'm just weird. Just curious.

Why is there not a kid in the car app? You put the kid in the car seat and then hit a button and it sends a message to your phone and reminds you every 10 mins until you shut it off when you arrive ?

FWIW, I use the basic, built-in alarm clock on my Droid smartphone to remind me of stuff. I first used it to remind me to take meds in th a.m. & p.m., but I've since used it for EVERYTHING that I need to be reminded of. I set and forget it, and it goes off at the set time (everyday or a specific time), every 10 minutes. No 3rd-party apps necessary. Simple and gets the job done. Works for me. JMO.
