That could very well be true - and he could have been on hold some of those six minutes.

I thought leaving Cooper in the car was a deliberate act based on the scant facts we had before today. And after hearing the testimony today, am even more sure.

However, there are a couple of things presented today that don't necessarily point to his guilt, IMO.

1. I'd like to know more about the context of the "I dreaded having to look at him" statement. A parent who had truly forgotten their child in their car and just realized the child had been in there all day and was very likely dead might say the same thing.

2. The 30 seconds before he got out of the car after parking it that morning. I tend to think it's because he was having final last thoughts about doing this, but it could also be because he was waiting for a song or news item to finish on the radio. I'd be interested to see his behavior at this point in time on other days.

******

I don't understand why the wife hasn't been arrested. Her question to hubby asking if he had said too much, and her insistence at the daycare that Cooper had been left in the car all day, both, IMO, show consciousness of guilt.

BBM He wouldn't have said such a thing if it was an accident because he wouldn't have had the time to think about it before he looked, opened the door and grabbed his son. jmo

We have a Marietta Square, right across from the courthouse. I'm good with the public stoning being done right there.

Tie him to the bell and let the rock throwing begin!

Pretty sure this was just to try to catch Leanna when she got to daycare cos she was not answering her phone. I think the Daycare people put Leanna on the phone but later RH denied it

I believe I heard she got to Daycare at 4:51 pm. What time was his call?

To me, seems to be a similar motive as Scott Peterson's.
Wanted to live a child free life and have a girlfriend/girlfriends.

Just catching up. All completely appalling, it's sad that there is so much pointing towards Cooper being deliberately left that day.

I'm in the UK and this case is starting to remind me of something that happened over here called "the Philpott trial". I've seen people comparing this to other US cases, but to me this one seems to have a lot of similarities. I got a strange déjà vu when his charges were downgraded. This case isn't QUITE as weird as the Philpotts yet, but getting there after today.

Spousal and child support cramps the style of people that like to rack up debt, and trying to woo MANY women...

What about him telling his dw that Cooper looked peaceful with his eyes and mouth closed? Grrrrrr the dect shot that lie down quickly!

Surprisingly, most people have a great deal of sympathy for people who forget their children in cars. It's why we saw such a rush to defend in the beginning of this case. Even the donations from family, friends, friends of friends, friends of family, church and community would have been thousands!

Exactly. The case where a mother left her two children in the car and went to job interview was on the news lately. She got a bunch of money collected for her.
Thankfully her children were discovered by a passer by and didn't die.

The three calls if IIRC where to LH then to HD then to Day care. Where IIRC he then talked to LH for 6 minutes. She had showed up there to pick up Cooper. ???? If this is true then they arrived at the places they needed to be. She at daycare asking for Cooper and him finding Cooper. jmo ?????

IIRC, the 6-minute call was to the day care. The other two calls - to LH and HD. No answer from LH...can't remember about the HD call, but it was the main # so maybe it was an automated system and he just hung up. I'm going to watch it again later so I'll know for sure later...

Yes, of course he and his wife would have gotten a lot of money donated! Anytime a child dies family, friends and community are going to rally. A gofund would have made its rounds on social media. The church alone would have raised funds for them!

There was at least one online fund - it had over $22,000 in it. It started drying up last week though a few people were still donating. I checked it last night and found it had been removed.

Most of that 22k came in during the 3 days after Cooper died. Imagine how fast it would have grown if LE hadn't released any details about their suspicions!

I want the boys in the band to give their testimony --- Imean really???:drumroll:

how bad is that hearing loss again?

Not to argue but Pete Townsend had major hearing loss (also from fireworks) and still plays a mean guitar.

The witnesses for the defense were not very compelling

The first guy acted like he thought he was performing on CSI and going for a guest spot Emmy nomination LOL

On JVM the reporter says the wife only showed emotion...wiped tears, when the character witnesses spoke about him (Harris)

And apparently these days you cannot do that by just walking out the door with your suitcase and toothbrush . :(

I am REALLY curious about that six minute phone call to daycare

As usual, I'm way behind because I can't stand to miss one post! So, maybe this has been discussed and I will get to it. But, when the detective was being interviewed early in the hearing and he was first asked about calls, he said that RH had made a call to the daycare and then he gave the name of a female (not sure if we can post the name?). I thought he was saying that RH had talked to this lady from the daycare. But, later on, when the defense asked him about the calls he said he could not verify that RH had spoken to anyone at the daycare, though they don't have a six minute message system. I wonder why he did not repeat the name of the person that I thought he had said that RH had spoken to.
