When I try to reply w/quote, I usually get bumped and have to log on again. That never used to happen. I wonder if it is temporary?

To me, it looks like that is happening when you're in the middle of posting a response and the posts go over onto the next page while you're in the middle of it. I get a "do you want to leave/stay on this page" message.

Could be. But based on them giving the timing as "5 hours" it seems to me that it coincides with his arrest and is more likely to have to do with bail and attorneys retainers. jmo

Maybe so. But if I had just fried my baby to death in a car, even accidentally, I would not be asking for the insurance payout, bail or not. That is disgusting. I would sit in jail and grieve and heal, before worrying about cashing in on the 'accident.'

Sorry if this has been mentioned, it's nearly impossible to keep up the last few days! I went to sleep listening to the YouTube videos if the hearing and I watched live, too. One thing that struck me is the six minute call to the day are at the scene. LE knows who he talked to because the detective said the call went to Toddler Room 5 at the daycare. ASSUMING that was Cooper's room, the teacher or someone in that room talked to him abt 4:30. Mom shows up at 4:51 and the detective said she talked to Michelle, Cooper's teacher, who told mom Ross never dropped Cooper off and, in front of several witnesses, reassured mom this did NOT mean Cooper was left in the car. Now I'm just confused.

I agree! At the minimum --- what the *&^%%% have you done and then my best ''haymaker''......then I would have been carted off by LE

Who posted last night while doing their cupboards that they realized mom was the mastermind and dad, not the brightest crayon in the box, probably did the dirty work? I cannot get that out of my mind. It haunted me in my sleep. Whoever you are, cupboard refinisher, I think you're onto something horrible here. I'm leaning that way and I cannot get it out of my brain. Horrid.

I am sorry if this has already been discussed. I haven't had a chance to read through all of the comments yet. I have a feeling this is going to be one of the biggest cases of the year, or of the decade, and no doubt I will make many new posting friends on this great site!

I have a million things to say, but just a few for now:

1) I wonder if JH or LH (refuse to calll them 'mom' & 'dad') looked up any sites that showed FORWARD thinking in reference to a 22-month old baby:
For example- Did they look up "How to deal with the terrible 2's", or "when to transition your child from a crib to a big boy bed", or "good, safe toys for 2 yr olds" or "Birthday party ideas for a 2 yr. old"(since he had a birthday coming up next month)? Was there any indication/research on there that indicated they planned on having him around in the future?

2)The infant, rear facing car seat REALLY bothers me! Do they really even have a car seat for a 2 yr. old? If not, WHY not? Did they not expect to need it, so why buy it? Or if they do, why were they using the rear facing one that day? Seems like they said they left it somewhere else, but I don't believe that. I believe they either don't have one & knew they wouldn't need one, or they switched em out that day on purpose, either to keep that kid super-tightly locked in, or maybe so JH wouldn't have to see sweet baby's face before he sent him to his death?! Or maybe so no passerbys would notice the baby?

I have a million more comments & questions I will get to. (I haven't even gotten to LH 'mom'(not hardly).

You guys, this is one of, if not, the sickest, saddest stories I've ever heard. I literally started crying while watching the bail hearing for that poor, innocent, beautiful baby. I have a feeling complete strangers like us have shed more tears for this boy than they ever did. Thousands of people unable to have children would love to have a baby like that. It was so senseless!! WHY? WHY? WHY?

Yes, a 2-year-old still needs a car seat. Then they switch to booster seats. I believe they switched out to his old infant rear-facing seat, rather than the expense of buying a new car seat, which isn't cheap. But it also could have been part of the plan to have him rear-facing to fit in with "not seeing/forgetting" him. And he could lock him down tighter.

BBM

There was a post upthread that linked a site by LH, in which she was apparently planning a 2 yr old Mickey Mouse Bday party for Cooper .That makes me sad and a bit confused. :balloons:

Thanks, all, for your thoughtful responses to my on-the-fence post. Still on the fence, but I appreciate the intelligent debate!
I don't mind you being on the fence. You will certainly see things that those of us that have jumped may be unable to see or catch. [emoji202]

Good golly! When she sat him down and said, "did you say to much?" Ugh! Those would not have been my first words! They would've been something like, "what the $&@? Have you done? I think she is just as guilty. She def knows something.

I don't think I answered properly last time I tried this so forgive me if this is duplicated

I agree (I would have responded with what you said, and then best haymaker would have had LE rushing in the room to intervene and cart me off)

In the testimony, Stoddard said he made 3 calls and never got through to his wife. That was confusing me too, until I re-watched the hearing. He DID, however, get through to the daycare and talked to someone for 6 minutes.

I want to know the exact time frame for that 6 minute call.

Yes! I'd like to know who he spoke to, and what the convo was about. :-/

Listening to the hearing right now. Can't look at defendant so I'll just read here while I listen.

You did better than I could manage. I could not stand listening to the defense attorney hammering at straws, so I shut the whole thing down and just read about it here.

Didn't the detective state that they used a mannequin that was slightly shorter then Cooper to determine where Cooper's head would gave been and they state that if would stick out over the top of the RF car seat? Even though Cooper had been strapped in tightly it wouldn't keep his head from poking over the top would it?

yes ..... top of head was clearly visible from driver's position

When this happens, back space and then copy the entire text you wrote. Forward and log in again and then paste it into the box and reply. I've been doing that. I think there's an automatic time out on this new site.

Which brings me back to last night's question again. :)

At the end of the hearing, the judge said something like, "facing a life sentence with a minimum mandatory of 30 years in prison...."

Is he not applying the new law or is there something I'm missing?

I believe he is applying the law Harris is currently charged with.

That proves two things to me: 1) Cooper had outgrown the car seat. 2) More importantly, Ross had to have seen him when he backed into the parking space. He KNEW the little boy was in the car by the time he got to work (even if he had put him out of his mind in the 11/2 min. drive) and purposely left him there to bake!!!

Why would they switch him back to his infant seat if they had a bigger one?

THIS ^ ^ ^ ^

This 6 minute phone call to the Toddler Room is driving me crazy too. And it happened before Leanna got there to pick him up. And I'm almost certain this is the call he was on when LE asked him to hang up and he cursed.

Who was he talking to? He says no one but it was a 6 minute call and Ross is, well, a known liar so I don't believe him at all!
