I'm sure it has, but the majority of people have been respectful and just want the crime solved, and I think discussing all of the men in her life is important to solve the crime, especially since they were all in the vicinity. I just don't like things going off topic when if she did have multiple boyfriends at the same time, then that is going to be discussed. No other way around it.

  • #1,262
Actually what I have been reading is not respectful plus this case will not be solved on the Internet

This is a cold case meaning basically tips and information has about dried up. It will remain this way until it is solved

I have faith that this crime will be solved within a year.
Someone (a witness or someone the perp bragged to) has the key to this whole puzzle.
I think that person is scared. It would be safer for them to tell LE and get the perp behind bars before he does it again.
If you happen to be reading this.... please please please tell the what you know. That in turn will keep you safe too. Tara deserves justice and a proper burial.

Marable and Positive Light...a few things here. First, why in the world would the killer be nervous? If they cannot solve this case in 11 years what makes you think that he is suddenly bursting over the fact that there is a podcast? He may not be interested in the case at all, and may have absolutely zero remorse or moral conscience. Second, no one said Tara was a 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 and I certainly did not use any poor choice of words to describe her. What I said was exactly what Sundrop stated...having multiple partners opens up pandoras box in an investigation I would assume. Instead of having one scorned lover there is the potential for 5 etc.... and that love or the perception of it makes people do stupid things. The facts are the facts and the girl was "associated" with multiple men in the waning months before she dissapeared. Third, why would the guy/girl have to follow the normal "I am a serial killer who started torturing animals at a young age and progressed" mold? Yes this has been the case before but this case appears to be anything but your run of the mill mystery. If it were, it would most likely have been cracked years ago. The hardest crimes to solve appear to be the ones that do not make sense. The ones that you cannot look back on and say "Oh, that is why". This case is either very solvable and there has been some sort of effort put into keeping the truth hidden etc,(cover up, LE association, inside info, etc) or we will not know for sure for a very long time if ever at all. It would be nice if the perp came out and told us that they did it and here is where you will find her. Not going to happen at this point! Your faith in the deplorable person that did this is way higher than my personal opinion of them. Somehow a game changer needs to rear its head here. Some evidence needs to be stumbled upon, something new found, etc or we can continue to have this discussion for another 11 years.
I appreciate your reply Intrigue!
I agree with everything you said honestly.
I personally was just looking at plausible theories. discussing them and then ruling them out in my mind.
Also I wasn't referring to the actual perp coming forward. By now the perp has to have told someone. THAT is the person I'd hope would come forward.
I also was not even responding to your post in the regards of her "partners". I was just saying in general, for the new people to this case, she wasn't doing anything that any other young woman her age would be doing.
So please do not take my post as an attack on you. ;)
You are correct that it is going to take someone coming forward or evidence found to get this case moving in the right direction. Towards Justice.
I was simply pointing out she was a normal lady with normal relationships. A lot of people do not date exclusively. Plus she was getting over a break up. She had been in a long relationship and getting back out and dating again is hard to do. I'm glad she was living life!

Relationships do change over time too. Someone who maybe provided an alibi for a POI may no longer be willing to keep the secret. See what I'm saying?
It happens all the time. A wife or GF backs up their man and provides him with an airtight alibi. 5 years later they could be divorced and no longer willing to be their alibi.
I say re interview everyone involved. Stories do change. Especially if it was a lie they initially told.
I agree the person who did this has no remorse or morals regarding it.
I'm sorry if you thought my post was in response to your post. I was truly just stating my opinion in regards to her love life. No judgement here. I'd be playing the field too if I was young and full of life. Now the question is.... which one of the people in her inner circle did this horrid crime. She trusted whomever it was.

Also, I would love to hear that the people in Ocilla who know or think they know something will suddenly talk. If I recall correctly, when Greta Van Susteren went down to Ocilla to talk to people like a year after this happened (not sure exactly how long...cannot remember) she stated that nobody down there appeared to be forthcoming with ANY information. She gave the impression that she was an outsider and not really welcome there. I am not really familiar with how that lower part of Georgia is. I have never been there but I grew up in a small town and if it is like where I grew up...multiple people know what happened. They just haven't said a word. That could mean that they feel that if they tell someone, the fear that they will be blamed. People assume it is easier to keep it to themsleves than to get involved and to look like they did something wrong even if all they did was hear a rumor.
Yes the residents weren't much help.Which is so sad!
I live not far from Ocilla and my town is small too. People definitely know stuff that could solve this case. Everyone knows everyone else's business. Super nosey!
Maybe the witnesses could make a deal that they won't be prosecuted if they testify under oath. People just don't want to get involved in ANY case. Not just this one. We should be watching out for one another instead of looking the other way.
Also... The SK killing animals is just a thought. Maybe a family member noticed odd or dangerous behavior. This is JUST MY humble opinion and discussing the case and looking at possibilities is what we do. This may have been a one time kill for them.
BUT I can bet the perp is staying on top of the case mainly to cover their butt and know what evidence they DO have. That's just being smart. Maybe he's not nervous or maybe he is. Who knows!
I hope this has explained my side and cleared up any misconceptions you have regarding me and my posts. I was never directing anything AT you.
Everything I comment on is my opinion. Please understand that. If I do not post a link then it is my opinion.

Good grief I am not saying people are labeling her.
I know that her partners need to be discussed.
I actually said she was just living life and had every right to do what she pleased without being killed.
I just wanted to point out that no matter WHAT she was doing, there was no reason for someone to kill her.
If I was her age and single I'd be the same darn way!
I haven't said anything disrespectful to anyone or in regards to Tara.
I'm sick and really am not up for having to explain myself. I did nothing wrong or said anything out of line. Geez.

This case will only likely be solved through a confession or DNA match to the glove.

I think we should be blunt and stop beating around the bush if we want to take everything into consideration. If this can not be solved on the internet then why bother taking part in podcasts Sundrop. People taking an interest in the case can yes in fact skew things, but it can also make it more known and looked at. Tara did not deserve the shitplate she got handed to her, but she was very free with men, and that is opening a box of worms. Especially when she was so "devoted" to MH. And yes, you are going to get people that judge her for it but she did not deserve the ending. I see more people arguing on this thread than trying to piece things together, and it is unfortunate.

Because it is not being approached correctly

I agree with you Sundrop, 110%. Is there a way to get this thread on the right track? Anything you would like us to focus on, might as well suggest because this thread will not end.

Yes we are rehashing old information. Mainly because that's what we have to work with. I'm going to take a break from this case for a long while. Doesn't seem anyone wants to discuss it without arguing. Which isn't doing Tara any good.
My heart is in the right place and always has been.
Take care~

ETA: This is the case that originally brought me to WebSleuths. Sad.

No beef here, I can tell you are passionate about this case and so am I. I apologize if my post earlier was too much. I'm just getting frustrated because this case is what also brought me to websleuths. And if I'm being perfectly honest here, to get back on track, I'm tired of being given information from the "inside" like we are just a waste of time. I agree that discussing it on the Internet can be helpful, and people who are hashing out old information are just catching up. If that's annoying to some, then maybe they can make their own group to discuss what they know. The way I see it, everything goes back to "GBI has it" or "We can't say."

So how about this. I will do my research, but is there any legal way enough of us can band together and fight to get the GBI to release anything they have? After all, it sounds like Sundrop seems to have his eye on someone, so it would be nice if we could all be clued in. And maybe, if enough national attention was brought to the probe of the public wanting the GBI to cooperate, the POI or someone who knows something may finally come forward. So, to move things FORWARD, can anyone work with me on trying to make this happen?

Info on part of Georgia's Open Records Act along with a link for more guidelines:

Excerpt: However, an investigation or prosecution shall no longer be deemed to be pending when all direct litigation involving said investigation and prosecution has become nal or otherwise terminated. Georgia Supreme Court has interpreted “pending investigations” as applying until the investigation is concluded and the le is closed. Records from investigation of cases that are unsolved, but otherwise closed, are subject to the Act’s disclosure requirements.
When a law enforcement agency receives an Open Records Act request for records in a case that has been referred to the District Attorney or Solicitor-General for prosecution but the case has not become nal or otherwise terminated, the prosecutor should be immediately notified and, no records should be released without the approval of the prosecutor.
A prosecution is deemed to be pending until such time as all direct appeals of conviction, including writs of certiorari to the United States Supreme Court, have been exhausted. Habeas Corpus actions are not considered to be part of the direct appeal process.

Correct, most states have closed record laws except Florida and Texas especially in an active murder investigation. Releasing sensitive case information no doubt could hinder the investigation and trial and give a defense attorney ammunition

so how do we get the GBI to close the case? sounds like they have nothing and had nothing in regards to new information for years....if all the info on the podcast is old news and was already known to GBI back in 2005 and 2006, the case has been "cold" for over 10 years now, so why is it still open? If they close it, and get a DNA match or confession after its been closed, they can reopen it, right? Are they purposely keeping this closed so they don't have to release all information to the public? Sundrop - you mentioned releasing sensitive info could hinder the investigation/give defense ammo, but in this case I think releasing the information can help as oppose to never releasing it and the case remains a mystery.

You can't close a case until an arrest is made and conviction
