The man, whose name has not been released, appeared to be in his 20s or 30s, Officer Jason Gagnon with DeKalb County police said. The body was found off Wild Ginger Road, near Lithonia.
An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death, but investigators have ruled out suicide, Gagnon said.
The man was a homicide victim, Gagnon said. Police have not determined how long the body had been in the woods.
Investigators know who the man is, but have been unable to locate his family.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is pouring over surveillance video and sorting through police tips -- trying to find a man who shot and killed an armored car driver in Dekalb County Tuesday.

They say this is the latest in a string of armored car attacks – seven different armored car attacks in the past six months.

The company that owns the armored car in the latest attack – Garda – is offering a $100,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects in the case.

Suspect Description

The shooter was described as a black man in his late 20s or early 30s who stood one to four inches under 6 feet. He had a medium build and slight facial hair and was dressed in a grey hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

The racketeering charge also ties the whole group together, along with two additional homicides: Chris Bennett, who investigators believe was a co-conspirator, and Gary Castillo, an armored car guard gunned down outside a Toco Hills Kroger in March 2011.

The manager of East Ponce de Leon Avenue strip club and two alleged members of a notorious robbery crew have been charged in the 2010 fatal shooting of the DeKalb County club's owner.

The manager of Pin Ups, Charles Edward Daniels, and Stacey Lamont Dooley, 35, and Ashley Antwan Henderson, 28, were charged with murder last week by a DeKalb grand jury...

On Oct. 7, they held up a Marietta armored guard and stole $104,694 in cash from his truck, according to the indictment. Over the next three months they allegedly targeted four more armored truck drivers, shooting one. The crew made off with at least $240,000 in those thefts, prosecutors say.

Gonna have to pause there and try to figure out what happened next. Can o' worms, this one.

A former employee of an armored truck company who participated in a series of robberies in the Atlanta area was sentenced to three years and nine months in federal prison, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said today.

Veronica Bullard was also ordered to pay $104,694 in restitution and will spend three years on supervised released after pleading guilty to one count of Hobbs Act robbery...

• Ashley Henderson, 30, of Atlanta, pleaded guilty to five counts of Hobbs Act robbery... He was sentenced to 75 years in prison.

• Stacey Dooley, 37, originally from Charlotte, N.C., pleaded guilty to six counts of Hobbs Act robbery... He was sentenced to 40 years in prison.

• Quentin Booker, 36, of Douglasville, pleaded guilty to five counts of Hobbs Act robbery... He was sentenced to 32 years in prison.

• Edwin Thornton, 31, of Atlanta, pleaded guilty to three counts of Hobbs Act robbery... He was sentenced to 15 years and 10 months in prison.
