Found Deceased GA - Timothy Cunningham, 35, Chamblee, 12 Feb 2018 #2

I believe Tim is alive.
I think he planned to take a long break.
There isn't an obvious active search for him.
And, he is not listed on the Atlanta PD Crime Stoppers Missing Persons page:
http://www.atlantapd.org/community/crime-stoppers/missing-persons
There are 19 people listed and Tim is not on the list.

Let me make it clear that I am *not* inviting wild speculation or conspiracy theorizing when I ask this :), but is there anything in particular that makes you think he is taking a break — rather than that he committed suicide?

I think he decided he wasn’t going to continue climbing the Ladder of Success. He recognized it as a game he no longer wanted to play. Especially when the game rules are often unfair. I believe this was an extremely difficult decision for him; realized he was in 'emotional crisis'; family didn't agree with him or believe him; asked a friend for assistance in disconnecting from society for half a year or even a year.

The only thing that makes that theory difficult for me is that he left his dog. If he'd drive hundreds of miles to have the dog's teeth cleaned, I think he'd have taken the dog if he decided to disappear in sound mind. No?

...but super interesting he's not listed on the missing persons page.

I think he wanted no obligation or responsibility. Wherever he is, he can blend in easier being alone. A dog attracts attention. I think that he asked his family to care for his dog. And they likely agreed to care for his dog but their focus was more on talking Tim out of his plans.

Didn’t one of y’all mention he is not in the NamUs database either? I just checked and didn’t find him. But yea...APD should definitely have him on theirs.

Definitely an interesting way of looking at it. That seems a valid possibility with regards to Bo attracting attention or being “baggage.” I appreciate you answering! If he left voluntarily, whether he is alive or not, I just keep coming back to feeling so sad for him.

These comments lead me to believe that his family and colleagues know he left voluntarily and can choose to return:
We want him to return to his loved ones and his work . . .
We just hope he will just come home safely. . .
. . . we hope you come home soon.

“Dr. Cunningham's colleagues and friends at CDC hope that he is safe,” agency spokeswoman Kathy Harben told The Washington Post in a statement Monday. “We want him to return to his loved ones and his work — doing what he does best as a CDC disease detective — protecting people's health.

"We just hope he will just come home safely. None of this makes sense. He wouldn't just evaporate like this and leave his dog alone and have our mother wondering and worrying like this. He wouldn't," said the missing man's brother.

Whhhooa, he at one point DEFINITELY was listed on their page! I've thought the past few weeks the lack of police involvement and lack of anything from the family in the past 3-4 weeks looked suspect. I bet they found him in a hospital or in mexico or something and just not blowing up the spot on him. I know for a fact shortly after he went missing atlanta pd crime stoppers did have him listed, i even bookmarked their twitter because of it just to watch if anything happened from it. would also explain why the gofundme they had set up for him out of nowhere stopped accepting donations

ATLANTA – An award is being offered after a CDC worker disappeared over a week and a half ago.
Atlanta Police said Crime Stoppers is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest or indictment in the missing case of 35-year-old Timothy Cunningham.
Cunningham was last seen by coworkers while leaving his workplace, the Centers for Disease Control, in Chamblee, Georgia on Feb. 12. Cunningham is a commander at the CDC and was once named to the Atlanta Business Chronicle's 40 under 40.

He was once on there, definitely

I am mistaken and the above post is incorrect. Please accept my apology for being wrong.
Would you have seen an Hispanic woman in her early 20's?

And probably many more. Wonder what the APD criteria is for listing a missing person there.

There’s something in my gut that makes me think he is alive also.... I don’t know why. This entire disappearance has been so vague and the few interviews from his parents seemed like a plea for TC to come home instead of pleading if anyone saw anything to please come forward. No one is coming forward with anything just radio silence and it’s not like a silence because no one has come forward, but more like a code of silence. I’ve seen the interview in this link before, but a smaller clip. The father stated that everything was usually where TC would keep it- the keys to his vehicle and how the car was parked. To me, that debunks the theory that his items at home were planted by someone else - who else would know TC’s routine.

The media seems to have moved on from Tim's disappearance. Tim's family and/or LE will need to keep the case in the public eye if they want people to keep searching. Otherwise, the public will probably assume Tim was found and the case is closed.

Based on the belongings left in the house as well as Bo, Tim never left that house with intention to remain gone. He left for a walk, a jog, to visit s neighbor or a friend in a car in front of the house. He may have left to speak to a colleague in a car on the curb, but he always intended to return. IMO

Wonder if we could ask LE why he was removed from the missing persons list. Him no longer being listed would also explain LEs lack of searches and updates and the family's recent media silence.

It does seem like that official page is not kept up-to-date.
http://www.atlantapd.org/community/crime-stoppers/missing-persons
I wonder where a current list can be found.
It seems very odd that there isn't an obvious active search for Timothy Cunningham, unless LE knows more inside scoop from his family and colleagues.

BBM. If he is voluntarily missing as many here have speculated why would the reward be for an arrest or indictment? Wouldn't they word it differently?

Because Crime Stoppers only gives rewards for crime tips.
http://www.atlantapd.org/community/crime-stoppers
Crime Stoppers Greater Atlanta is a community based, non-profit program, managed by a civilian volunteer advisory board. It is a crime information collection operation, which enables anyone with information about a crime, and who wishes to remain anonymous, to pass that information on to law enforcement through a neutral organization. The program works because of its unique partnership between the public, the media and law enforcement, working together to resolve community problems through the apprehension of criminals and prevention of crime. It is an effective partnership because everyone shares an equal role in solving crime.
When an individual has information about the criminal activity, any other unsolved crimes, or information about a wanted fugitive, he or she is encouraged to call 404-577-TIPS(8477) or e-mail the anonymous information using the online form at www.crimestoppersatlanta.org. The tip can result in a reward up to $2,000 to the individual who supplied the information needed to solve the case.
Crime Stoppers Greater Atlanta, as a force multiplier, helps law enforcement reduce the time it takes to investigate cases and put criminals behind bars. The faster the criminals are taken off the streets, the more crimes can be prevented, reducing the number of victims in the community.

So why is his disappearance listed with crime stoppers?
