Atlanta PD is discussing their search for Tim and the recovery of Tim's body.

They had previously searched along the area he was found and did not find his body at that time.

The terrain to access where he was found was not easily accessible.

They carefully preserved the scene as they recovered him.

Watching presser on HLN. Their sidebar says parents called 911 on Feb 11th to report concerning texts. Feb 11 — the day before he went missing.

eta: that’s new, right?

Such a terrible tragedy! My heart goes out to his family who must be absolutely devastated. If this was suicide by Timothy, I hope they never blame themselves in any way.

No matter what happened between all of them, if there ever were any disagreements, they are not responsible for any choices or decisions Timothy made.

None of us have the power to cause others to take their own lives.

Conflicts do not cause suicide in mentally healthy people.

From working with the mentally ill for over 15 years, I believe a suicidal person is mentally ill. They are not fully aware of the decisions they are making. They need help, not judgement.

It appears his family was doing everything they could. They too should receive no judgement.

Again, it's a terrible tragedy all around...

Recapping the challenges-- had to put a boat in 200 yards up stream,

Currents of water made it difficult to get to the body location to recover him.

Now that he has been located the investigation will draw mostly to a close.

No indication of foul play. They will wait on tox screen to make sure COD is drowning as they suspect.

The river in not far from home, he was a jogger and was wearing his favorite jogging shoes when found.

Thanks, I must have caught the end of another presser for something else.

So sorry! I believe I misled you with the wrong link. My mistake...

They don't know where he entered the river and probably will not be able to determine that.

They don't know why he left his ID at home.

Recovered three crystals in his pocket, he was an avid collector of these stones....

Avid collector of crystals or rare stones. 3 of these were found in his pocket when he was found.

The friend I searched with just called me. He wanted me to find out about Tim from him, not the news. So much shock and cannot imagine what his parents, family and friends are feeling right now. He was someone with all the promise in the world. We lost a wonderful, brilliant man. I am so very saddened by this news but sadly felt at the first news that it was Tim. Oh how I wish I was wrong.

Based on condition of the body it is consistent with him being deceased since Feb 12th the day he went missing.

Cause of death as drowning is preliminary, determined by exclusion-- tox screen could change the COD.

No evidence of any natural disease seen.

Lots of answers in the presser but still so many questions. How devastating for his loved ones. So sorry to everyone who lost a son, brother, friend, or neighbor in Tim.

  • #739
The case will likely be closed soon (within the next month) unless something comes back in tox screen

There are no indications of foul play, nothing in the Dr's life indicated foul play is likely

This is so sad.
It does sound like Atlanta PD did a thorough job.
There is nothing at all that indicates any foul play.
Prayers for his family!⚘
