The odd statement about the tattoo 'cocaine user' is cleared up to0 now. It was literally an image of someone using cocaine. Grinzzz....
Tattoo - Right back: tattoo showing person snorting cocaine, specifically showing a left hand holding a spoon in rightward direction, pinky extended, spoon above a plate with razor blade by it. Right hand shows index finger pressed against right nostril. Powder present in spoon, just below left nostril. Smoke/clouds emanating from ears.

This is quite a remarkable tattoo!! I wish we had a picture of it......When became cocaïne into "fashion" in America? He was found in 1990, stated as an adult....Doe network says 30-40 years old..that would mean he was born approx 1950 - 1960. Namus says adult....that could be any age above older teen, young adult, lets say above 21...?

The Eisenhower Liberty silver dollar belt buckle, Eagle side facing out, was from 1974, at the time it was made he would be somewhere between 14 - 24.
The Sterling silver ring w/blue stone was from 1979, at the time this item was given he would have been between 19 - 29. Off course he could have persuaded both items on a later age.

Maybe this man was working as a maintenance worker at the West Point Dam or power house.

إخطار إعادة التوجيه

Pure coincidence I guess.....the colors of the power house: light (sandy) brown and blue, like his overall.

I did send another mail to the Doe Network today with questions about their notification that this John Doe is identified. It's all very confusing. We have to clear this up.

Good news. The Doe Network notified me that they are reinstating the UID's webpage and updating the information.

Good news. The Doe Network notified me that they are reinstating the UID's webpage and updating the information.

There needs to be a better criteria The Doe Network uses to determine whether or not a MP has been found or whether an UID has been identified. They tend to assume that just because a NamUs page has been removed or because a case has been removed from a clearinghouse it must mean the case is solved. There are many reasons cases are removed from certain websites.

I really wish we had a picture of the mouse tattoo. Just some thoughts....

Is it Mickey Mouse, affiliated with MM = Mexican Mafia?

https://senate.texas.gov/cmtes/81/c640/1108-SigifredoGonzalez-2.pdf

MS-13 members favor prominent tattoos on their chest, back, and arms. Most tattoos are a form of "MS" or "MS-13” and can be in standard numerals, roman numerals or any combination of the two. They may also include a clique name or telephone area code, "Salvadoran Pride," or "Mara". Also popular are Mickey Mouse tattoos, which indicates the gang’s affiliation with the Mexican Mafia (Mickey Mouse = MM = Mexican Mafia)

It even might be not a mouse at all but a Mexican Mouse Opossum (Mermosa Mexicana), tlacuache in Spanish.

The Spanish words for "opossum," tlacuache and zarigüeya, come from indigenous Mexican and South American Indian names for opossums: the Nahuatl word tlaquatzin and the Guarani word sarigweya, respectively.)

I'm not sure about the accuracy of this source:

Has anyone been able to query Missouri Pacific employees about how many rings were given out and if any retired employees are missing or have missing persons in their family? I expect those would be cataloged somewhere since railroad workers are subject to FELA protections. From what I've been able to research, information in this area seems difficult to find with employers reluctant to help, at least for genealogy questions.

Probably no use for finding this UID but something about Eisenhouwer (coin belt buckle) that could also point to Kansas (like the Pacific Railroad, Kansas Division ring)

Eisenhower died on March 28, 1969, at Walter Reed Army Hospital in Washington, D.C., following a long period of suffering from a heart-related illness. In addition to a state funeral in the nation's capital, a military funeral was held in Eisenhower's beloved hometown of Abilene, Kansas.

Unsolved Mystery | The West Point Lake Homicide of 1990

A Belt Buckle, a Ring, and a Few Tattoos…

When my mentor and dear friend Clay Bryant calls and asks for my help, I answer the call both physically and metaphorically. He is hands down one of the best cold case investigators ever. He retired but was courted back into investigations by the Sheriff in Troup County, Georgia. Clay calls me and says he’s got a tough one.

On March 8, 1990, an unknown homicide victim washed ashore in West Point Lake, just north of LaGrange, Georgia. He remains unidentified today. We need your help.

NamUs #MP 31283 - Charles Edward Mansker Jr was last seen in Witchita Kansas in 1968. He would have been 49 in 1990.

NamUs #MP13082 Charles Daniel Samples was last seen in 1965 and he road the railroad across the country. He likely isn't a match because of age but I found this interesting in NamUs:
He was a transient, and road the railroad around the country. He would work awhile and then get back on a train. He always visited areas with family and always visited and stayed with them. The last anyone heard of him was a cousin that received a letter from him in Tiptonville TN, 1965. She wrote him back in the summer of 1965 and her letter was returned to her. His parents, brothers and sisters are all deceased.

Very sad this man is still not identified. You would think someone remembered a guy with such an explicit tattoo. Maybe family and friends turned their back on him because of his drug use or maybe because he was into the drug trade himself. Who knows....
