GA - Twin brothers miss flight to Boston, found dead 24 hours later in Georgia mountains, 14 Mar 2025

If it were to be a murder suicide then the gun should've been found near the dead body though, and as someone said, if they're twins then one wouldn't let another fall so much into despair that they eventually had to commit suicide, doesn't seem like a murder suicide case
I just read about this case, and it made me think of a recent one involving twin women in Scotland (the Husztli sisters, Eliza and Henrietta - there is a series of threads about them in the Missing Persons forum). There were quite a few posts in those threads about situations where twins committed suicide together, and how the twin bond can manifest as a common emotion that overrides individual self-preservation.

It's still too early for us to know what happened to the Lewis brothers. But **if** it turns out to be "murder/suicide," I'd be more inclined after following the Husztli case to think that it was instead "assisted suicide/suicide."

I'm so sad for two bright young lives cut short. I hope LE is able to bring clarity ASAP. Their family and friends must be suffering acutely right now.

On the surface, the circumstances do seem suspicious. Many families have difficulty accepting the death of their loved one by suicide.

GBI seems to have come to the M/S conclusion pretty quickly. So there must be some indication of that at the scene.

Wondering if they will find any communication between the two - texts, social media, ect., which give some indication if either of them was considering ending their life?

I hope the family receives the answers they need. Being left with doubt or unanswered questions is torture.

Clarifying - GBI has not reached a final conclusion, they are still investigating. Didn’t mean to imply M/S is fact.

Twin Brothers Miss Their Flight to Boston. 24 Hours Later, They Were Found Dead Nearly 90 Miles Away in Georgia Mountains

"They came from a family of love, and twins wanted so much for their future, they had dreams of starting their very own clothing line," .

"Unfortunately something happened at Bell mountain that ended the lives of 19 year old Qaadir and Naazir, which needs to be further investigated. We need your support to share their story,"

It's important to know the history and layout of this area. The nearest town to Bell Mountain, Hiawassee, GA, was a sundown town. White racists drove out their entire Black population in the mid-20th century. The 2020 census shows less than 1% of the population is Black...literally 5 Black people in the whole town. Lawrenceville is in the Atlanta metro area, so I'm assuming they would be flying out of the Atlanta airport, which is SOUTHWEST of the city, in the opposite direction from Bell Mountain, which is way up northeast near the state line. There is absolutely no way these young men, who did not hike, just randomly chose this spot to off themselves. No way. I fear this will turn into the same situation as the Kendrick Johnson and Tamla Horsford....someone knows something by LE doesn't seem willing or able to pursue the truth.

Sorry but I am more inclined to think that something other than Suicide took place. I don't believe that these particular young men would EVER go into unfamiliar territory into woods or mountainous areas alone, especially with NO history whatsoever of them knowing of the place, being at the place, looking up this place, talking about wanting to go there, etc.

In order for me to buy into the murder/suicide theory, I will need a lot more evidence indicating that type of plan from one or both of them. There would have to be something on their phones proving it for me to believe it. Otherwise, idc if a gun was found near them, that alone does not prove anything to me except that the person who shot them left the gun there. These boys could probably have cared LESS about EVER being in an UNFAMILIAR remote area in the woods/mountains. Like, I couldn't even be paid to believe that without some other evidence solidly confirming it.

I absolutely, positively agree with you 100% and that makes me SO sad that once LE suggests suicide, that it is almost unquestioned. Yes, some people don't know that a person is suicidal, but chances are SOMEONE knew a person MIGHT be suicidal and this is generally something that comes out after a suicide b/c people WISH they had taken the signs more seriously. When a family and their friends are adamant that they wouldn't do such a thing, I tend to believe them. #MOO

Also, welcome to WS @DrGBeth !!!

The teens were found by a hiker at the summit of the Georgia's Bell Mountain.

The GBI said autopsies for the brothers have been completed but that officials are still waiting for additional forensic tests before issuing a final ruling on the cause of death.

Authorities did not name the brother they believe carried out the murder-suicide

I totally disagree. A lot of the time family will be shocked and never know something about their family members struggling. A lot of people are great actors.
Maybe something happened or one of them did something that they couldn't face up to their family.

My uncle killed himself after his girlfriend broke up with him, no signs whatsoever before that.

Strong words, @CrimeSlog .... and I am right there with you.

What was the trip to Boston for or about? Why has no one mentioned this probably known detail.

They had dreams........

I'm not an expert on twins but I'm having trouble thinking that if one was depressed the other would just say we'll OK I'll kill myself too.
Wouldn't the twin instead try to encourage and get help for his brother.
Weird.
13 Reasons Why is an intense documentary about teen suicide.

So intense they changed the ending.

Cody Alcorn spoke with the family who said they were going to Boston to "visit friends"

And that these boys "had never even heard of Bell Mountains"

the whole situation is strange, but i can't figure out what would be more unusual.
1.a suicide pact or murder suicide at the top of a mountain in a place they've never been, right when they've been planning a trip?
2.some sort of deal or rendezvous that went bad, planned close to a plane trip, at the top of hiking mountain?
3. someone intent on harming the brothers drove them 90 miles to a hiking mountain?
4. a planned, normal hiking trip (that they didn't tell family or friends about, and I believe have no history of being hikers) and randomly killed?
i genuinely don't know which if any situation if more likely. i need much more information about this.

Glad to see you posting here, particularily when we learn about the autopsy results.
