I am all for running the DNA if it is possible. But there has to be an instigator to do it. Who is going to request it? Maybe some victim families could, if such evidence still exists. Otherwise it would have to be the Atlanta PD and DA of Fulton County. They can't solve the murders on their plate right now. I am surprised maybe that a past DA didn't try to reopen this for political reasons, but that in itself maybe speaks volumes.
I know several of the victims relatives are still around so why their voices aren’t heard I have no clue. Honestly I would reopen the case regardless of political reasons. It’s the right thing to do in my opinion and it would give closure to other victims’ families even if it does result in a few arrests of family members.

I agree. Take a look at the remaining cases, especially the one's that don't seem linked to WW. I do believe he killed 2 of the victims and maybe more. I know the politicians in Atlanta live in fear that any investigation would give him a ramp to try and prove his innocence. I also think they know if anyone is connected to some of the other murders there will be hell to play from the public. But I don't care. I think every victim needs justice.

Totally agree with you. Every victim deserves justice.

Have the victims' families raised the issue? I'm not sure as this as gotten a bit complicated.
i think some are pretty convincingly linked to WW
As for the others, was there another killer in Atlanta at the time? Who knows.

I do suspect Wayne Williams wasn’t the only killer in Atlanta at the time. While only a few cases have been linked to him it’s on shaky evidence. Think about it this way: how common was a white 1970 Chevy station wagon in the Greater Atlanta Metro area/Chattanooga Metro area during this time? I would assume it was quite common but then again I don’t have access to DMV records. Also that carpet could have been owned by other people in the greater metro area of Atlanta or in the metro area of Chattanooga. The fact that the original detectives didn’t think to contact law enforcement agencies outside the city itself is a shame because it might have helped more victims. A few victims I think were filicide and others might be a mix of rising gang violence and unknown killers commuting from the greater Atlanta metro area. Something about this case has always felt off to me, like Wayne Williams was linked to this crimes because he fit the Atlanta Police Department’s image and their desire to close the case. Instead they only put a bandage on. The killings continued even after WW was convicted, they just shifted a bit from what I have found which tells me he wasn’t the only predator active.

I do remember them linking hairs from his dog to the cases as well. He did have a hearing to determine if he needed a new trial and it was denied. I do believe he was involved, especially when the police did not secure evidence they found in his car after he was stopped on the bridge. He also had links to some of the victims through his music production company. But I am not sure about all of them. You had a lot of kids go missing and young adults. I would not be surprised if the KKK was involved in a few and other killers that were too happy to have Wayne take the fall for all of them.

Exactly. Not only that but the dog hairs were only linked to his dog via mitochondrial DNA not nuclear which could theoretically mean someone else had a dog who shared a mother with Wayne’s dog. Hence why I have doubts of him being the sole person responsible for all those deaths.
