I just had a thought on the soccer game info. You know it is extremely odd that out of an entire league no one has leaked any information to us about the game.

Think about it, it's not just Raven's teammates, but every opposing team his team played for an entire season and more . . .

Gm,
At the risk of sounding rude, is your source accurate when they told you he was at a soccer game the night of the murder? Is it possible your source is a friend of raven's.
Perhaps they are all silent because there really wasn't a game at all...though I wish they'd come out and say that.
JUST A THOUGHT.

Do we have any information on whether or not Raven has to actually appear in District Court next Friday? It's my understanding from a reliable source that he has already plead guilty to the charges and has been cooperating with the authorities. So presumably the court hearing next week is the penalty phase??

I just keep wondering, and this is just speculation, if there is some link between LE silence of all of this, and Raven's upcoming court appearance... Thoughts anyone??

AS, I don't know whether the information is accurate or not, I'm just passing along the information I received. I was specifically told he was not watching a soccer game, but in fact played in a soccer game. And it would make a difference, if he was just there as opposed to playing he would have an easier time slipping away.

Regardless, the soccer game story is what Raven has told everyone he was doing. For all I know, he may have been fishing in Modesto.

My question is did he actually plead guilty in court or has he just admitted guilt? .... hmmmm or is just letting everyone know that he plead guilty and everything is honky-dory now? Which btw it is NOT!

That's true. Why do you think, then, the soccer team (either side) isn't talking? Could they have been silenced by LE as well? (that's implying that LE has asked the family to remain silent. I don't know that for certain...it is just my own speculation). That's an awful lot of people to keep quiet.

What are the chances that LE will talk as soon as the court date is up on June 10th?

Hmm I wonder are LE asking people they approach or interview not to comment on the case or any knowledge they might have of Janet, Raven & the circumstances of their lives until LE are ready to make their move?

If that's the case they may be treading very carefully and making sure all the loopholes are closed, they might also be trying to avoid the case turning into a three ring media circus.

I just wish they'd hurry up and have a press conference to announce an arrest.

Well we know that Raven already knows what it's like to have those handcuff slapped on him. ;)

IMO, I would think that if Raven was a suspect in the murder of his wife, they would consolidate these matters and throw the book at him........I really don't see a jury feeling sorry for him with the embezzlement charges if he murdered his wife and visa versa.....

That is a lot of people to have to keep quiet........a lot of loophools to close and when has the LE ever been able to control the media????? I still cannot fathom the quietness of all the family (both sides), neighbors, friends, acquaintances, people in Durham, the soccer team players (both sides), reporters.......EVERYONE!

We definitely need a press conference about something.....the status, asking for help or announcing an arrest.

The simplest answer as to why soccer players or spectators are not speaking out is that the only place TO speak out is here.
No one else is championing the case.

What's the chance that any of them know about WS? I would say ZERO.

We can change that though.. if it's OK with the people who run the site.

We can place ads in the NC newspapers in the Durham area, including those little shopping brochures that every person gets.
It could say something like:" If you were playing in or attended a soccer game on April 26, 2005 please contact ___________ ( local phone number).
You may have valuable information which is needed. You will remain anonymous".

Any merit to something like that? I would contribute in a heartbeat if the newspapers don't see the benefits.

Geez.....I just assumed that when they heard about Raven's wife being murdered the night he was playing a soccer game, they would be interested in finding out the details.....guess I was wrong! :( When you put Janet's name in any search engine, the websleuth site shows up!!!

While that's a great idea, I'm sure LE has already spoken with people who have corroborated Raven's story. That was probably one of the first things they did in order to substantiate his alibi.

This is complete speculation, relative to why no one is talking from the soccer community. Again - complete speculation. MOST of the people I know who are avid soccer players are from Latin America. MOST of those people are here in the US illegally. If there were any players associated with Raven who have no Visas or work permits to be here, they may be laying low to avoid being deported. Again - this is pure speculation.

You feel rather strongly about this, don't you NC Banker? :)
I only tossed out an idea once. I doubt that the people Raven is said to have been playing with were illegals or foreigners.

Remember- it has NOT been confirmed that he was at a soccer game. I refuse to assume that the police did their jobs. That place up there is like the crime hotbed of the country. I'm sure their resources are stretched to the max. I've never seen so many daily accounts of murders.. I thought Dallas was bad, but it's worse in NC.

I've got to admit that NC crime rate is rather shocking. Who would have thunk? :behindbar
