Well, I don't think he did move any fan off any balcony, but that's beside the point.. :rocker:

I don't think he moved any fan off the balcony either. Where did police find it?

  • #202
Exactly and he explained why, but because you think he's a jerk athlete all of a sudden it's premeditated murder?

Based on what?

Where is THAT evidence?

The guy's life is over. He would have to know that even WITH this excuse if he gets away with murder, even if he really did do it, that he'd have nothing in the end. He was already struggling to get into the games he wanted and that's gone. Any endorsements he had are straight out the window.

I can't see a man throwing away his entire life, unless he's got a good reason.

Y'all are saying "Rage" but you've yet to give any evidence that would explain what he was so enraged about?

What pissed him off so much? A woman mocking his sexual prowess? What? Because this ruined his life.

So what's the motive?

It could have been a moment of madness where he did not think of the consequences. IMO he has never had to because others have rescued him.

But if he was fuelled with alcohol or drugs or temporarily insane due to jealousy or losing Reeva in his life, or if Reeva had found out a secret that night about his taking banned steroids and threatened to expose him, then he would not be thinking rationally. She would "have to go" if she was not going to comply with giving him total adoration, admiration, attention, acceptance he thinks he is entitled to.

Reeva finding out about some "secret" that night makes the most sense to me as a motive to kill her but irrational jealousy is also possible - even a combination of both. There could have been more than one motive.

Piers Morgan tonight:

http://piersmorgan.blogs.cnn.com/20...-a-major-drinker-or-that-he-does-drink-a-lot/

Pistorius' friend on alcohol being banned as part of his bail: "I don't think that he is a major drinker, or that he does drink a lot"
On the heels of Friday's ruling that Oscar Pistorius could be released on bail, this evening "Piers Morgan Tonight" invites Kevin Lerena to share his reaction to some of the additional details coming out of the South African courtroom.

A close friend of the disgraced Paralympian, Lerena responded to learning that as part of Pistorius' agreement, he must abstain from drinking:

"He's a normal human being. We go out, we have fun," says the guest of his friend, a fellow South African. "As a person, he's never, ever, in my company, has alcohol changed his personality, or changed him as a person. Never around me has he ever changed in any way, when having alcohol in his system, at any time."

Noting that Lerena is confirming that Pistorius does drink, a detail that contradicts prior statement's by the sprinter's own attorney, Piers Morgan follows up:

"Would you say that the reality is he would have alcohol, just not to excess?"

"That's obviously something that he'd do in his private time, or his off time," says Lerena, of Pistorius drinking. "He's definitely not a person that goes out, and goes to clubs, and that type of thing. He's a very homely person that spends a lot of time with his friends, so, I don't think that he is a major drinker, or that he does drink a lot."

I interpret that to mean that when he is out, he does not drink much perhaps due to losing his licence if he did, but at home, he could drink more, don't you think?

Yes-have they even talked to her girlfriends, close friends or family to see if she spoke about there relationship?

One friend reported that Reeva thought he getting was "too possessive". That means to me that after 9 weeks he thought he had a sense of entitlement to her and he needed to back off.

I also wondered about sexual rejection by Reeva due to his drunkennes or she found out something about his sexuality.

I have wondered about this. **THIS IS JUST AN IDEA TO TOSS AROUND. No facts or reports, just an idea.**

How many people keep their herbal supplements by the bed? How many have injectable herbal supplements? By the bed? The testis compositum is listed as a supplement that can be used to aid those with erm, male sexual problems. I can't think of the right word.

Here we have it:

or the temporary relief of symptoms associated with male sexual weakness: Lack of stamina; Nocturnal emissions; Male hormone imbalance.

If she made fun of him, or rejected him, or he failed to be able to perform and they argued, (and if she really was flirting with another man as reported), this could make a man that is already insecure flip out.

I have a friend that has not been able to "perform" naturally since he was 18. His stories are disturbing as there were no pills then, he is 65 now btw, he had to inject into his penis to get it up. If he argued with his wife after the injection, he said it would remain stiff for hours and no relief, it was painful. Not to mention embarrassing. When this man drinks he goes into rages, especially about women. He did serious damage to his now exwife several times. Should be noted, she did not understand his dysfunction, thought she was not sexy enough, and made fun of him. :(

Yes. Also, can't drink a lot in public as media would photograph it.

I bet they're doing that right now. During the Olympics, he was dating a girl initials ST. After the Olympics he took a vacation with her (I know this through twitter and pics he posted). Very few pics of her were posted, though. Since this incident, her parents have been quoted as saying they're glad she's out of the "clutches of that man", and I also read that police were wanting to talk to her. Before the shooting, She apparently had plans to do a tell-all interview about him, saying "he's not who you think he is", but something changed her mind at that time.

Samantha Tayor?

http://www.couriermail.com.au/sport...taylors-mum-says/story-fnduczvk-1226578551070

THE mother of one of Oscar Pistorius' ex-girlfriends has posted a sensational comment on Facebook, suggesting Pistorius was dangerously reckless with firearms.

Trish Taylor, the mother of Pistorius ex-girlfriend Samantha Taylor, wrote: "I am so glad that Sammy is safe and sound and out of the clutches of that man - there were a few occasions where things could have gone wrong with her and his gun during the time they dated. My condolences to the family whose daughter has passed away. My heart breaks for you".

Oscar Pistorius was charged overnight with shooting his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp dead at his home in South Africa.

He started dating Steenkamp shortly after breaking up with Samantha Taylor, who said: "Oscar has such a way with women. She's probably not the only one he's got".

Taylor went on to tell South Africa's City Press newspaper that "Oscar is certainly not what people think he is".

Oscar Pistorius was a hero - the Paralympian who won the right to compete with able-bodied athletes, then won the hearts of the world.

He competed in both the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics, becoming one of a small handful of athletes to compete in both, and the world rejoiced twice at his bravery.

Pistorius used his profile to tweet inspirational messages to his huge Twitter following, and lapped up big time sponsorship deals totaling as much as $5 million with the likes of Nike, Oakley and Ossur – the company which manufactures his trademark carbon fibre running blades

Now a different picture is emerging of the 26-year-old sprinter, whose legs were amputated halfway between his knees and ankles when he was 11 months old due to a congenital condition.

The picture of a man with an obsession with guns and a chequered private life.

An old interview with a British newspaper has resurfaced today, in which the sprinter told a reporter that he slept with a pistol, machine gun, cricket bat and baseball bat in his bed.

The city of Pretoria is one of the most dangerous cities in South Africa - a nation with a staggering homicide rate in the vicinity of 20,000 per year.

But many are questioning why Pretorius felt the need for such heavy security, given he lives in a secure housing estate that has an 11-page manual detailing the measures by which visitors can be let in.

It's not quite Fort Knox, but it's close.

A New York Times reporter who spent a week with Pistorius profiling him for a magazine feature described him as "an adrenaline freak at a level I had never seen before".

I saw Oscar as a reckless person, charismatic but impulsive, and not as cautious as he always should be," writer Michael Sokolove wrote.

"But I didn't see anger in him."

The writer goes on to describe a scene where Pistorius grabbed his gun after an alarm went off and tiptoed downstairs. It turned out to be nothing.

When Pistorius learned the reporter had never fired a gun, he grabbed his 9-millimetre handgun and two boxes of ammunition and drove him to a nearby shooting range.

When the reporter asked Pistorius how often he went to the range, Pistorius said: "just sometimes, when I can't sleep."

Meanwhile, it has been revealed today that Reeva Steenkamp and Samantha Taylor are just two of the women associated with Oscar Pistorius in recent times.

The New York Post reported in July 2012 that he was often in the company of Russian-born supermodel Anastassia Khozissova.

Britain's Daily Mail reports that Pistorius' first girlfriend was his high school sweetheart Vicky Miles, with whom he appears to have had an off-on relationship.

"Having got together in 2006, the pair split two years later but then reunited a short while afterwards. They broke up again last year," the paper reports.

The Daily Mail also reports that Pistorius has, at various times, also been linked to at least three other South African women: Jenna Edkins, Melissa Rom and Chanelle du Plessis.

"All are young, attractive and blonde," the paper reports.

Has anyone else read OP's book? He disses his dad a little bit in the book. And his dad has been right there with him in the courtroom every day. A courtroom with fabulous lighting, I might add. OP looks really good, and I think it inadvertently lends some sympathy to him.

A narcissist like OP would diss anyone who does not give him unconditional love, worship and attention.

When the reporter asked Pistorius how often he went to the range, Pistorius said: "just sometimes, when I can't sleep."

Respectfully snipped

While the entire article is disturbing, I find this really bothersome.

I am trying to believe this could have been an accident, and it could have. The 4 shots and not getting a response, or even looking for Reeva keep me battling. Along with the loopholes in his Affidavit and seeing the diagrams.

I know that this type of thing has happened as an accident before, but am not sure here. So sorry.

a 26 year old with sleeping problems?

taking herbal supplements for whatever reason? - the indications for this Testis Compositium are quite interesting Amazon.com: Heel - Testis Compositum 10 vials: Health & Personal Care

He has stomach or some medical problem other than his disability that requires attention according to Roux yesterday? --

this guy is a young athlete....what exactly is going on here?

  • #211
I hadn't thought about the sleep problem health wise. Duh. Guess he does have some minor health issues, which is surprising for an athlete I suppose.

I was thinking that going to shoot guns when one is suffering from insomnia is not a good idea. Not clear minded enough.

My previous post to which merc has responded here mentioned that OP goes to the shooting range at night if he cannot sleep!

That seems like abnormal behaviour to me. Does he have a gun fantasy? Is shooting therapeutic to his aggressive urges?

This leads me to the question: Was he still suffering from insomnia, depression or some other mental illness?

Was he unhappy with his achievements in London 2012? There could something very deep in his psyche that is hidden by his outside persona that no one knows about. I hope he is given a psychiatric assessment soon.

"The fact that depression is so frequently accompanied by violent rage in young men — a rage usually, but not solely, directed at themselves — is something we need to acknowledge and understand."

For the temporary relief of sexual prowess in males, irritability, exhaustion and lightheadedness. I wonder if this stuff can be addictive.

This scenario is one I alluded to a few pages back but did not think some would feel it appropriate for me to speculate about it unless someone else brought it up.

It is difficult to believe for some people that a 26yo man could be impotent. But it does happen. It can be psychological or physical or both and can set up a fear of abandonment in the male especially when he knows or finds out that she has many other admirers.

With all due respect, I don't know how we can possibly conclude with certainty that the prosecution is referring to sleep clothes, let alone what exactly the clothes looked like. I am willing to admit I don't know for sure either way (street clothes vs. sleep clothes), but the prosecution has emphasized Reeva was "dressed" and that her being "dressed" is significant in proving their case against OP or at least contradicts his version of events. This leads me to infer they are most likely referring to street clothes, not sleep clothes.

JMO.
Oh absolutely...we cannot know for sure until such a time as the trial.

However, for now..I'm going to disregard what the medic reported she was wearing...it has been stated that she was covered in a towels and I'm sure since she was dead when they arrived, they wouldn't have pulled the towels off her and tried to resuscitate her. Botha stated she was wearing shorts and a vest. Either a sleeping outfit like above but also possibly what she was wearing for her yoga although I'm not sure about that , surely you work up some kind of sweat with yoga ( I don't do yoga so don't know) and she wouldn't climb into bed in her exercise clothes surely?? Anyhow, since Botha said a "vest", we can conclude at this time that it was a spaghetti type top and shorts, be it sleeping shorts or normal shorts( not below the knee type short, but anytype higher than mid thigh)

It's hot, it's summer...I agree that if it comes to light that she was wearing sweat pants, then this would absolutely be detrimental to his story. It would indicate that they were NOT sleeping and she was intending to leave. I would absolutely vouch for the fact that in this heat, she would not have been sleeping in sweats. Also, the fact that he felt the need to get the fan off the balcony indicates that it was needed in the room after he closed the door thereby telling us it was indeed a hot evening.

Also, no one has mentioned the fact that just because it has been mentioned that she was "dressed", this could be just simply alluding to the fact that she was not naked. People sleep in the nude too.

A little update regarding the woman who tried to halt proceedings:
http://www.iol.co.za/news/crime-courts/annemarie-files-case-with-concourt-1.1475722#.USiYFXwaySM

What it's about is beyond me but she came all the way from the states to do this..most bizarre. ( and nothing to do with the case I might add)

it has everything to do with the case! The media might try to depict this woman as a "nutter" but I also have grave concerns about his mental state myself. I stated in a previous post that it seems to have been a "moment of madness".

"The former wife of Dr Gerald Versfeld, who amputated Pistorius’ legs when Pistorius was a small boy, claimed to have known the Olympian since childhood.

She said he “obviously” suffered some form of mental breakdown and it was in the interests of justice he be seen by experts."

The woman's name was probably Annemarie Versfeld. Childhood history (which she could know about) is important as the "child is father to the man".

Even if his statement is true, I think some of his past and present actions show bizarre or abnormal behaviour. He should be also assessed for any suicidal tendencies. IMO he was a disaster waiting to happen.

It's already been mentioned how it seems odd that, according to OP's account, he goes from being incredibly fearful and on high alert to just dropping his gun and stumbling back to the bedroom.

According to his statement it only occurs to him that it might have been Reeva in the bathroom when he reaches the bed.

So before this point and after the shooting I would have expected him to still be on high alert, closing the bathroom window, holding his gun and not letting go of it until he gets to the bedroom.

But according to his statement he drops his gun, leaves the bathroom window open and goes back to the bedroom, with his back to this entry point (open window), with the light off.
No where in his statement does he mention dropping the gun, and he clearly states backing out of the bathroom, eyes focused on the bathroom door, indicating he was approaching the bed with his back to it, He is still shouting at Reeva to call the police, she is not responding...it dawns on him...he goes back to the bathroom ( this is when I speculate he dropped the gun) loo door locked, no response from Reeva, back to bedroom, opens door, screams for help, puts legs on and breaks down door (shortened version)

This is a great observation worth considering that points to his guilt.

I'm still not sure if he's guilty or innocent.

Another issue raised was him not putting on his prosthetic legs. I'd think that he'd be worried he'd be interrupted halfway through thereby rendering him immobile. Better to have two short legs than one.
That's almost like asking why someone didn't put their jacket on, on a cold night when faced with the possibility of an intruder. He has never had legs, he stated he has mobility..there is more than likely very little he cannot do without his legs.

I will add, it would be interesting to see what his stumps looks like without covers, it would give an indication of how he gets around, surely the part that he uses to walk on would be roughish, hard skinned etc..like under ones foot?? This would at least clear up if he was on his knees or if he actually uses the ends of his stumps kwim?
