By the way, the "previous domestic disturbance" which turned out to involve a 19 year old guest under the influence is not the incident we have read about that occurred on the night of the murder. I am not sure if this is "fact," media rumor, or established through a credible record, but I had believed that earlier, a few hours before the shooting, the compound's security had been called to OP's residence(by neighbors) to investigate a possible disturbance--of some sort.
Does anyone have knowledge about this at hand? I can research it myself and should, but then my digging never seems to end and I wind up on some site about Acai berry helping people lose weight in their sleep.

If that story is true that he crushed her skull in,she was trying to get away from him & Look where she ran.He said the bedroom door was locked,so she did not have time to unlock that door before he got to her or he was standing in front of that locked door,so she ran to the next safest place with a lock-the bathroom! If this is true,I can't even imagine her terror!ALL MO

He had two dogs who look like guard dog breeds. I suppose he could have assumed they'd been poisoned or distracted somehow. I suppose given the state of mind he was in, one we read is a necessary, precautionary state for all middle class white citizens living in these high-security compounds in SA, he wasn't factoring in dogs, alarm systems, panic buttons, cell phones, sound of flushing a toilet vs. sound of a break-in, and acted as any reasonable person in such a situation--went for his weapon, screamed for his gf in bed(who wasn't) to call police, hustled down the corridor to where he'd heard sound come from, yelled out a warning to the bathroom stall and shot it up. Then he hustled back through the dark corridor to put on his pros, had to turn the light on to do so, and THEN truly saw the light. I mean this is SOUTH AFRICA and he is a DOUBLE-AMPUTEE! Everyday, guard dogs get poisoned, security points out the richest guy on the block and disarms the alarms and electrics, GF's go the bathroom in the middle of the night, and BF's accidentally shoot them and bash their heads in mistaking them for intruders.

With the caveat that this is the Daily Mail ....

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...ricket-bat-shown-extensive-head-injuries.html

Don't know what to make of this, but I bear in mind the Joanna Yeates case in which the public were given the impression that there were no marks of injury on her at all. Until the trial began, when it was revealed that there were in fact multiple injuries. There's no reason to think that the prosecution revealed everything at the bail hearing.

Indeed, I see in the last hour or so a number of articles written today are saying the cricket bat story is true ... just not referenced at the bail hearing.

For the moment I'm not going to post them, not needing the grief it will generate here.

Also, the noted [not always favorably] Alan Dershowitz has interesting commentary about OP's affidavit. The article however is on a page with a new story about the bat.

I just re-read the affidavit. Two elements strike me.... he says the bedroom door was locked while he was in the bathroom firing away. Then he says he went bank to he bedroom, but says nothing about unlocking it. If he came out of the bedroom, he must have locked it from the inside. How did he get back in, then?

Also, if RS had gotten out of bed to use the toilet, as OP claims, she would have heard OP screaming down the hallway as he neared the bathroom. He wanted whoever was in the bathroom to hear him, right? What, she just happened to be momentarily deaf?

I am confused..there is only one door to the bedroom right, the bathroom is down the hall in the bedroom, he would not have to leave the bedroom to get to the bathroom or is there other door that I don't know about?

I believe that the locked bedroom door he is talking about is the one leading to the rest of the house.

In looking at the floor plan, it appeared that the bedroom leads into a hallway/wardrobe area that has no door. In turn, the hallway/wardrobe pathway winds into the bathroom area.

Anyone remember or have a link to the floor plan?

These are very recent tweets -- within last 20 minutes -- I'm not seeing anything more about it at this time.

ETA: #OscarPistorius is blowing up with this new bit. Still looking for an explanatory article.

Best information I've found:

More on the #Pistorius family as Carl, Oscar's brother, facing culpable homicide charge after reckless driving accident killed woman in 2010

Thanks. And I presume that the prosthetics look like regular legs. But still I would think carrying her down stairs on those was not easy?

He has knee joints. So he has excellent control of his prostetics.

Re Carl Pistorius charge:

What I'm picking up via tweets from SA journalists is that Carl P. was to have stood trial on the 21st. Postponed due to OP bail hearing.

The MVA (Motor Vehicle Accident) said to have occurred at noon. CP not intoxicated, but charged with culpable homicide due to reckless driving.

Have seen "culpable homicide" likened to manslaughter.

Keep in mind that this is simply information from journalists' tweets. Information subject to clarification and/or expansion.

Sometimes, I do wonder if people who follow running only occasionally think that dedicated runners are saintly. I could understand that, as running is no fun, and is uncomfortable (in competition, to be sure) -- so one could easily imagine that being a competitive runner implies that one is beyond many mundane concerns (like pain), and so perhaps they should be considered as being elevated to some level of humanity above most of us.

If that's the case, imagine how some feel about an athlete like Pistorius. He likely has pain even before running. And putting aside any advantages his prostheses might have, he has performed very well (but it is worth mentioning that it is difficult to determine how much his prostheses help his times).

Regarding this crime (or I should say, what I believe to be a crime), I am mainly at a loss, unsure about how his actions could be justified. I was before, and perhaps later will be, a OP fan. But I don't know of many athletes who would 'shoot first, ask questions later' unless they were murderers. And I don't know how well this will play here, but most of the high-level athletes I've known, perhaps all of them, in fact, were not so afraid of a confrontation that they would shoot through a door. This would apply to women and men. As per OP, I would imagine that he must have some guts to do what he does (that is, sprinting against men who have calves, etc.).

I think that there are scarier places than RSA, and even there, his response would seem extreme.

That being said, I do wonder if political concerns will come into play. TIA, as we say (and this doesn't mean 'thanks in advance'.)

Fascinating.
The last video I posted had that NY Times reporter saying Oscar drove recklessly...

Not for nothin', but if these are the societal circumstances, with millions of dollars in the bank, why are these folks still living in SA?

I wonder of Oscar was with Carl during that MVA--if you catch my drift?

I do catch your drift, but I thought this thread was about OP's actions that caused the death of his g/f Reena?

Does anyone have confirmation from a reliable source about her skull being bashed? If true, I find it curious that her own Father made no mention of this when he remarked about OP telling the truth of what happened that night.

I need more answers to questions I have, before I can say with enough certainty that it was premeditated murder. i.e. Why didn't Reena yell out, why is her voice silent through it all????
