I look forward to catching up later as I have been on holiday. But I was just wondering about the pros witness in the indictment quoted as hearing screams , shots , screams. The DT will no doubt ask the question how anyone shot through the head and with a crushed skull could manage to scream at all, never mind as loud as to be heard by a witness.

I would also wonder how RS was able to breath after the shot to her head and the reported extensive crushing of the skull. The autopsy findings of the bullet's path through the brain and the immediate damage it would have caused in vital areas should determine if she was gone in seconds, never mind be able to scream after suffering the head shot or if it would be possible to still be breathing, around 20 minutes later.

This older article about the drinking may help explain his request to have bail restrictions relaxed. One of the specific requests was for permission to have alcohol while out on bail.

IMO, he may be an alcoholic who needs it and may have had withdrawal symptoms at uncle's house. Who needs to drink alcohol while reading the Bible?

Ok so I hadnt checked on this case for a while and now am surprised to find out that Reeva had a crushed skull? So he hit her with his cricket bat before he shot her or what is the consensus on this? Thanks in advance.

I think it is generally thought that the bullet which entered her skull caused the crush injury though we have discussed here at various times whether there may have been a skull injury caused by the bat and a deliberate bullet injury to hide this.

I have been going over RS and OP ' s twitters from 1st Feb again and again and imo it appears that Reeva was staying at OP' s for most of the days and also OP's friend MR was with them until 09 Feb . Also she twitted abt almost all her programme but seems she saw Gina on 8 the Feb probably had a problem that day as per her twit in the morning and returned back to Op's and twitted Gİna see you next week for coffee ! And mentionned she missed being there...

IMO Reeva's last interviev is very significant

Tragic Reeva Steenkamp told of her concern that “lies” could ruin her relationship with Oscar Pistorius in an interview given days before her death.
The FHM model spoke glowingly about her new romance with the Blade Runner, saying how much she “respected and admired” him.
But she told how she feared any negative publicity could prove damaging to the Paralympian’s career on the track.
She confessed: “We haven’t been talking to the media because I don’t want to get it tainted.
"I don’t want anything coming in the way of his career. He’s such an amazing athlete.”

She added: “You know what they do, they make things up, ‘Reeva cheats on Oscar’ and rubbish like that.

“I wouldn’t want lies about us jeopardising it.”
Reeva, who had a law degree, also told how she wanted to move away from bikini shoots and become known for classier work.

In the interview with Heat Magazine South Africa, published tomorrow, Reeva said: “I’m trying to work on my modelling career and remove myself from the whole FHM stigma. I want to be seen as a classic model.”

BBM: I have felt all along that this sad progression of events was alcohol-fueled. He came home from a party where he had likely drank and if sources are correct, he drank a lot when he got home. ... <snipped for brevity> ...

I haven't seen any of Oscar's test results, but it will be interesting to find out if he was using steroids and also his blood alcohol level (that is if the tests were done early enough--which is another question).

Has anyone ever heard about the first sample of OP's urine being lost?

Magistrate Nair noted, during the last day of OP's bail hearing re: Hilton Botha: "He then agreed there was a second urine sample taken. What happened to the first?", in reference to the urine sample that was taken from OP the morning of RS' killing (http://ewn.co.za/2013/02/23/Botha-unfazed-about-removal).

I have not heard/ seen any mention of the first urine sample following the BH, but I desperately hope it has been found since the second urine sample may have been taken too late to determine what, if anything, OP was under the influence of.

How, in a case this prominent, do the police lose a urine sample?
