BBM1: iMO, if OP had a gift for RS, we would know because it would have been paraded all over the place by now, it would have been part of his affi. We would have 100 8 x 10 glossies of it, taken from all angles, located in every nook and cranny on the Internet. (Young people: "glossies" is a term we used to use to describe photographs, usually 'official' police photographs, back in the day.)

BBM2: I find nothing about the 14th either. If OP felt he was really her significant other, he may have wanted to support RS by attending the talk she was to give about abusive relationships. Or at least do something special for Valentine' s Day later on in the evening. Again, IMO, we would know if OP had anything special planned as he and his DT would have milked it to death by now. : (

I totally agree. Thank you for pointing that out. The DT would have wasted no time in publicising it had there been one. IMO it clearly indicates RS was not extra special ("love of my life") to him. I have a feeling that RS was more interested in OP and he in she.

BIB - Reeva had two appointments for 14 Febr

1. A speech about domestic violence at Sandown High School at Johannesburg
http://www.heavy.com/news/2013/02/reeva-steenkamp-domestic-violence-speech//

2. A Valentine's meeting with her Mini-friends

I guess her speech at the school would be scheduled for the morning - that's common for those things - and the meeting with her Mini friends for the afternoon or evening.

But notice the time of Reeva's last tweet = 13 Feb – 7:41 p.m.. That's the time between OP's phone contacts with Alex Pilakoutas and Graham Binge (20:10 - 20:45). So, it seems OP ignored Reeva for hours and because it got too boring for her she sent some messages and maybe made some calls.

Reeva was excited for the meeting with her Mini friends and wanted to keep it. She had other plans for the whole Valentine's day than to spend this day with OP. Perhaps she met with him on 13 Feb to tell him she will end the relationship. But she had prepared a Valentine's gift for him days before she had taken this decision. Her Valentine's gift should be her farewell gift....

Reeva's nickname for OP

Reeva wrote "Ozzy" on her Valentine's gift. And all media reported this was HER nickname for OP. But that's not true - ALL his friends and many of his supporters call him "Ozzy" or "OZZ", you can find this in a number of tweets and on websites, e.g.

Would you call your boyfriend/lover with the same nickname as his friends do? Rather uncreative IMO

And I totally agree with kittychi's excellent post :):

Thank you for the tweets. Twitter is somewhere I don't frequent but obviously should.

I do wonder whether the girls meant all day, ie the rest of the day after her talk. If he had organised something else and excluded her I think if Reeva had been free to see him she would have been extremely hurt. To me she seems a very naive young lady (for her years) in many ways. I still tend to think there was a very emotional argument about depth of feelings rather than a drugs issue but I am sure it will become apparent in March. If Reeva started hurling his cups around, I can see he would probably go into an uncontrollable rage but that is, as is much of our "evidence", total conjecture.

Do you think that the Prosecution will ask OP to describe the noise he heard?

If so, what do you think he would say?

I don't believe OP will take the stand. This would be too dangerous for his defence because prosecutors would grill him.

Only his DT will speak for him and tell their/his versions.

And I expect a battle of the experts of both sides because each party will interpret e.g. the ballistic and post-mortem reports in their own self-interest.

You may be surprised how differently they will argue about the same facts :)

BIB - Valentine's is a working day and I guess, most of the Mini-friends have a job, so they would start their celebration in the late afternoon or evening.

I have to correct myself ;) because now I saw this important part of the Mini-club invitation:

Sandton Auto MINI ‏@SandtonMini 13 Feb – 2:42 p.m.
All MINI Drivers come in and enjoy a yummy cupcake with us all day tomorrow. We are celebrating our love for our MINI's ❤ @MiniDriversSA
Retweetet von Candy McKenna

So, it seems, everybody showed up when they liked or could.

BBM: I have to wonder if Reeve overheard those phone conversations that OP had and confronted him about something or some things? i.e., plans made without her or some kind of drug talk

OP and DT will get what they want if the forensic/ ballistic reports saying that
💥OP was on his stumps
💥 and Reeva was crouching on the floor is accepted as a fact.
(BTW I dont think that is true anyway )

DT suggests an " accident " and " not a murder let alone premeditated murder "
as mentioned in OP's affi. Here is how they will support this point with forensic report which seems to be organised in favor of them imo.

DT have to and will argue that OP had no intention to kill anyone let alone Reeva. ... They will say OP was on his stumps and he still shot downwards targeting the below waist area/legs /feet of a supposed intruder to threaten him/them. He even walked backwards from the bathroom to the hallway his eyes on the bathroom entrance as he was alert and thought that the intruder insde might come out anytime , that means he didn 't have a thought that the
intruder could ever be dead. He also didn't try to open the door at that moment for that reason also. How could poor OP know that the intruder he supposed was sitting on the floor.? He meant to shoot near the leg part of a standing up intruder no intention to kill but accidentally his beloved baba hiding there sitting on the floor was shot.

With that forensic report OP can easily walk free with/w/out his prost
legs👣just saying.

PS The crucial important earwitnesses not taken into consideration :truce:

Tragic Reeva Steenkamp made a framed four-photo collage showing herself and lover Oscar Pistorius just 12 hours before he killed her, it was revealed yesterday.

A Party Box shop assistant who says she wrapped the gift told how Reeva, 29, acted “like any girl in love” on her visit the day before.

The woman who asked not to be named, said: “She was very friendly. We joked about a girl having to buy her boyfriend something if she wants something in return on Valentine’s Day.”

The day before Valentine’s Day Cecil helped Reeva choose photos she wanted to have framed to give to Oscar as a Valentine’s Day present.

I don't think that Reeva had any intention to leave OP at least that day . Isn't it a bit weird to give a farewell gift on valentines day to yr gf/bf ? She prob had some doubts abt him but why the idea she would say bye bye that night ?

I think Reeva's problem was she was "in love with love" and failed to see OP's true disposition or thought she could "tame" him. I doubt she was intending to end their relationship at all but if he had not organised anything for Valentine's Day I get a feeling she would have been upset and would certainly have told him so.

I would agree with you IB. It appears that Reeva with all she must have known about OP's past, was blinded by her love for him.

The source tells TMZ ... she was with Reeva Steenkamp "a lot" during the months she was dating Pistorius and insists Steenkamp never mentioned or even insinuated there were issues of violence. Our source says Steenkamp's family is in "absolute shock" because they never saw anything that would lead to harm. The source -- who was frequently around Pistorius during the time he was dating Steenkamp -- says, she never saw a dark side -- to the contrary he was a "sweet guy."

A 'sweet guy' as long as you play by his rules.

I noticed that Pisto said in a previous post that the talk was to be on the morning of 14 February. I had always assumed that it was going to be that night.

"On
Thursday morning,
Steenkamp had been scheduled to give a motivational speech to students in Johannesburg. "It was about empowerment and inspiration and what inspires you and how to follow your dreams," said Tomlinson, who had Steenkamp's notes for the speech."

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/feb/14/reeva-steenkamp-friends-shock-at-loss

So why did Reeva feel the need to give OP his Valentine's Day present the night before?
I had assumed that she was going to be busy that night giving the talk so she could not see him. So going out with friends the night before makes sense now as they could then still see each other on the night of the 14th.

Surely Reeva would have wanted to practise her speech and go to bed early in preparation.

Perhaps Reeva wanted to talk to OP about his phoning her twice while she was with Warren Lahoud the day before initially. I think she must have had something on her mind she needed to talk about. Then later, I still predict that Reeva caught OP taking performance-enhancing drugs and she lost total respect for him then smashed his trophies. Her idol was exposed as a fake! What else could lead to a seven-hour argument? OP decided that RS had to go. What would be the most important thing to OP? His medals which, if exposed, he could lose. That was everything he had to live for!

I have wondered whether after murdering RS OP himself, in temper, threw his cups/awards around. He must have felt his career was in shreds at that time but I can quite see that the discovery of any drug taking could have precipitated the event. Strange we have heard so little about this episode, given that it indicates a massive argument or fit of temper took place, both of which would destroy his Affi. I suppose OP could claim he did it in anguish after realising what he had done and how it would likely destroy everything he had worked so hard to achieve.

It was a big house and very neat and tidy,” said Botha, “and you could see the money talking, with all the ornaments and portraits and paintings. There were shelves stacked with trophies. There was also one of those big box frames, with a picture of Mike Tyson, along with a signed boxing glove.”

http://www.vanityfair.com/culture/2013/06/oscar-pistorius-murder

This above comment from Botha himself in the Vanity Fair article seems to suggest that there were no broken trophies on the floor since he described the house as very neat and tidy and the shelves stacked with trophies. So IMO the newspaper report about the broken trophies may not be accurate and should be taken with a pinch of salt.

Reeva had been staying with OP for a few days, as far as I can determine, but it seems he had organised to go out with his boyfriends on the evening of the 13th. Reeva asked him to stay at home for a quiet dinner, which he did. She had bought him a card and a present but, ..........................................................

... and she took this present with her into the toilet. Why???

When the real crime scene fotos showed up, there should be the Valentine's gift laying on the floor (I couldn't recognize). I didn't understand the reason to take the unimportant gift with me by saving me and locking myself in a room in fear of death. :abnormal:

I think too Reeva was "in love with love " with a true caring heart but that he has a 'one and only' and that is himself and no other. Jealous and suspicious of all his women past and present. If he bought her no gift IMO it could be that at that point in time, in his jealous and suspicious mind she was not entitled to one.

BBM: This is the first time I have heard that she took the gift with her into the toilet (to use as a shield?). Do you have a link where you saw that?

I have seen a photo of the wrapped gift & valentine candies. The gift doesn't look like it has been handled very much. But it looks like the photo was taken with the gift lying on the floor on a towel. Looks like the bathroom tile wall & floor. ???

Or it could possibly be sitting on a brown coloured kitchen / bathroom marble type work top with a tiled wall behind.

I think the present is on the kitchen counter. Not sure where the comment about it being in the bathroom came from but would like to know the origins. I suppose it may be possible that the bathroom also had a granite surface (ie with washbasins inserted into it). It is very difficult to tell.

Thank you Whiterum. I had forgotten that. I cannot see that Botha would lie about tidiness of the house unless he had been told by the police not to mention it to anyone because it would obviously be a very important piece of evidence. He seems to have commented on virtually everything else, so the strewn awards story does seem unlikely.
