I've been thinking about Steve Brown...he claimed to have solved this case, because of a before overlooked detai in 1 of Misty's LDTs. He was working for Crystal, but somehow got mixed up with Tommy & Werter. Because of recent events & Crystal's evident anger towards the Croslins, I wonder what the status is among all of these people? Are they all still associated? Anyway, I was wondering what LDTs, Brown had access to...the LVA, obviously, because that was pretty much made public, but what about the rest of them? Did he have an expert analyze them, or is he an LDT expert? Because as far as I know, he never pointed at Misty, as the killer. I'm thinking he pointed at either Joe, or Tommy & then he in turn, pointed at Joe. I wonder if after Tommy was honed in on, he came up with the Joe story, to explain away something that pointed at him. Because who contacted whom? & why? & why was Werter so eager for Tommy to cooperate? hmmm...

Shoemaker was hired in August 09 iirc. He said from the time he became Ron's lawyer that RC has fully cooperated and had several meetings with LE and phone calls.
He has said that openly where LE/DA could hear what he said. Just like he said that they had been working on a plea deal for Ron since April so I have no reason to disbelieve Shoemaker.

So it seems they knew from the get go that Misty was lying all along.
And they do have physical evidence. Well that is good to know. I am sure they need more but they do have some kind of physical evidence contradicting Misty's story or ad nauseaum stories she has told.
ETA: Misty said she was asleep the entire time until she woke up at 3 for no reason. Maybe they found things in the home that showed she was up. Maybe a bottle of soda was still out on the counter and still cold. Or they may have found the dryer still warm to the touch.

In this press release in 2010...LE is stating then that they believe Haleigh was a victim of foul play=murder.....and they believe that this act was committed by someone known to Misty and/or Ron...this tells me that LE had focused in on Ron and Misty....
They go on to say that Misty's account of that night and what she was doing in that mh...cannot be backed up with the physical evidence...Misty told us that she fed the kids, bathe the kids, did laundry, and put the kids to bed....so LE, IMO, is saying that is all a lie....we have GMSykes saying the kids were eating when she got there around 7pm....so if LE doesn't believe that she even fed the kids....why did GMSykes back her up and say that the kids were eating? Apparently LE doesn't believe that is what happened....just like from the very beginning, one week after the disappearance, LE said they received a tip that Misty was NOT there...they decided to follow up on that tip because of physical evidence that contradicted Misty's account of that evening.....it seemed to them that her not being there would explain why the physical evidence doesn't match up with what she's saying....and when that information came out...Teresa Neves comes out and say that Misty was there that evening...IMO, the Cummings never entertained the thought of Misty being gone....why? especially if LE believed that she was not there...
Tommy comes out in August and says that he went to the mh and Misty was NOT there....he later tried to retract that but LE wasn't buying it...they wanted to stick with Tommy original story that included Misty not being there....
....IMO, LE has known for quite some time that Misty was not the main perp....they believed that Haleigh was a victim of foul play (=murder) by someone known to Misty and Ron....LE maintained their belief that Misty had key information to break this case....even after the dock search...LE stated that Misty may not be "the key" but she has key answers....so who is "the key"? and when I add that to the fact they believe Haleigh was a victim of foul play by someone known to them.....and after the dock search...LE said there were several persons of interest...and one would be a surprise to everyone....and add that to Teresa asking Ron "you think she's gonna talk?" IMO and JMO, LE may be looking at Teresa...and this is who Misty is afraid to tell on....for whatever reasons.....There is no way Misty is in this mess alone....but LE only want information from Misty...IMO, they do not consider her the main perp.

Well said suspicious....I have always had the opinion that Misty was not at Ron's that day..and she was at the Magnolia residence...and she was not babysitting...I still believe she was not at Ron's at all...until she made the 911 call...
The 911 call...to me..it is ONLY proof...I see...she was definately at Ron's THEN......
The rest is just speculation..where she was....I believe others are trying to place her there...to cover themselves...

Like I said before, the Cummings never entertained the thought that Misty was not there...instead....the came back and said "oh she was there because a family member saw her"...which by the way, Misty never mentioned GMSykes being there until after Teresa claims that she was....and my point is...even if GMSykes was there between 7-8pm....how in the world would that account for Misty being there ALL NIGHT? it doesn't but Teresa thought that it would...I mean, one would think that maybe she left the mh after GMSykes visit....Teresa was not buying into that one but what proof would they have that Misty never left?....IMO, they needed to place Misty there that whole night...because IMO, if Misty admitted to not being there...that would open up doors for LE to explore everyone else in Haleigh's life...including the Cummings....LE had already said early on that this was NO stranger abduction...so they assumed that someone close to Haleigh had taken her away...so if Misty removed herself from being at the mh....who would that leave?
Ronald did stop cooperating with LE. Then several months later, IIRC, he finally went in to speak with LE along with his lawyer. It was to answer some questions about some calls on his cell phone. I clearly remember that although I do not have a link. It is in one of the 3 million threads here.
Then, even later than that trip to talk with LE about his cell phone calls was when Shoemaker said on NG that Ronald had moved from the top of the list to the bottom. Ronald was still on the list.
Over time, things that were discussed in great detail gets lost in the many, many threads here. But, NO, Ronald spent many months NOT cooperating.

I'd like to add that the immediate talk, after Haleigh disappearance, from TN was to praise Misty as a perfect gal friend and caretaker for the children.
Even GGM Sykes praised how well Misty cared for the children. Why was this vote of confidence on Misty so important and needed to be stated at that time?
I would say because it was vital that the Cummings women needed to make it clear that Misty's kidnapping story was true and she could never hurt Ron's children. Their comments, to me, meant they were ready to step up and give statements to back Misty 100 percent. This was important for them or they would have never spoken out.
However now, we have TN wanting Misty hung in public and GGM Sykes pointing a pretend gun at Misty's grandmother. Quite a change from the original statements from these women. jmo
It is a drastic change & there's no flow of events behind it. Misty hasn't confessed & as far as I know, the evidence pointing at her, was the same then, as it is now. TN even made excuses for Misty sleeping through Haleigh's abduction, (was exausted because she & Ron had sat up all night working out their problems), her inconsistencies with LE, (communication problems due to her lack of education), & her failed LDTs. She talked a lot about them being in love, & Misty's dysfunctional family. The only flow of events that I've seen, is Ron getting arrested, & then Ron working on & then getting his deal. But even TN saying 'Misty dragged Ron's butt into this', doesn't sound like an accusation against a murderer...just more whining about Misty & her drama. TN didn't really start groovin with the accusations, until she came out with the hanging statement. Her timing is way off.

I believe him when he said many many months ago that Ron had already dropped to the bottom of the potential suspect list.
But I believe LE more when they said neither Ron nor Crystal are suspects.

Moved my post to theories due to being a bit OT on the thread that I posted on. Sorry.
One comment I have about the children sleeping in the car is: Does anyone believe that Ron clocked out and in everytime that he "checked' on the children in the parking lot? I'm betting that he didn't. There was a standard timeclock in operation at that time and I'm betting that the guard let him go to his vehicle without having to clock out. There is no way that Ron would want it to show on his timecard that he was clocking in and out several times in one shift. He was a new employee, that really wouldn't look very good, would it? I bet that guard let him come and go whenever he wanted and was convinced to just "look the other way". Ron could have very easily left the plant and returned. The guard's job would have been in jeopardy if he had come forward in the beginning of this case. I'm thinking that he probably no longer works at PDM and that is why we now hear about Ron having his children sleep in the car. Retiring from a job at a similar industry with the same security procedure, I will also bet that PDM investigated security issues after the Haleigh case happened and information was discovered that showed that discrepancys. The new and improved hand scan security equipment may be a result of the investigation.

I agree LE are and have been focused on Misty AND Ron, I just think the main point of this is to state LE doesn't believe this is some random stranger abduction. However, where is Ron mentioned in the rest of this statement? I don't see LE questioning Ron's story of his actions that night, and this statement is one you directed me to. This is, yet again, all about Misty, and IMO, the only reason they aren't calling Misty a suspect or a person of interest is because for several years now the defense uses this as prejudicial against the client.

I do not agree with your interpretation. IMO, this does not say in any way, shape, or form, LE thinks EVERY SINGLE THING Misty said was a lie. I remember LE asking some time back for information on what Misty was doing from 8pm on. That implies to me they believe GGMS. My take on this is what Misty is saying and what LE is putting together based on what they found are not adding up. Maybe they have evidence Jr. was sleeping down the hall, or Misty was never in her bed, or more people were there than she claims, or even that Misty was gone at some point. But, Misty leaving during this time does not = Misty left the kids alone and when she got back, Haleigh was gone. Misty could have been out disposing of Haleigh, Misty could have taken one or both kids with her and something happened elsewhere, etc.
As far as GGMS and TN, GGMS puts herself there around 7pm, and TN, as far as I know, wasn't there at all, so what difference does it make what they say about whether Misty was there or not between 8pm and 3am? They don't know anymore about where she was than I do. IMO, they said this because that is what Misty said, and at that time, they believed her.
When LE had the dock search, they had Tommy there, and then they had Misty there. They didn't have Ron or TN or GGMS there. This search was LE looking for Haleigh's body, or evidence Haleigh's body had been there, so why would they bring only people who were not involved, and exclude people who were involved? And if you think it's because Ron, GGMS, and/or TN got Misty and/or Tommy to dispose of Haleigh's body, then why oh why would any of those 3 entrust these 2 to dispose of the body of a 5 year old little girl one or all of them killed? And why oh why would either one of them, especially Tommy, agree to do something like that, for child-killers? And, not to be callous, but this is a small child, it's not like you need 2 people to carry her little body, so why, if you killed a child, would you want to let so many people in on it, when you could take care of it yourself?
One thing we do know is a fact, is Tommy called 911 on Ron, after a fight, and Ron was arrested. This took place some time after Haleigh went missing. IMO, this is some pretty good proof to me Tommy has no qualms whatsoever in turning Ron in to LE, and absolutely no reason whatsoever to cover for Ron and implicate himself in Ron killing his little girl.
I agree with a lot of your post, but who LE had at the dock search, is beside the point. LE wasn't going on suspicion or a hunch...they had Tommy there because Tommy claimed to have been there during the disposal, & they had Misty there because she backed up Tommy's story, & claimed, (I think), that Tommy had showed her the site. So, in this case, LE wasn't casting suspicion on suspects, they were simply following through on a story. If Tommy had said that he had been accompanied by Ron or GGS, (lordy), & something backed up that claim, then LE would've escorted them out there too. But you're right, IMO, about Tommy. He wouldn't cover for the Cummings. & personally, & even though it's a greyer area, I don't think he would cover for Misty. But I do think Misty might've been covering somewhat for him. Females, mentally & emotionally, just arent as tough as males, & she'd be more likely to refuse to deal with the whole thing. That's MOO, but it might explain why Misty hasn't snitched...if she herself is not guilty.
