So, Mr. Martin said that the screams didn't sound like is son yelling, and yet GZ didn't recognize his own voice and yet he claims it is. So, maybe Mr. Martin couldn't say that was his son screaming because like GZ, he sounded different on recording. :twocents:

How are they not fair if they are factual?

The inference is she failed a grade or grades and is not intelligent. She could have started school late as a child. I went to a school that had a grade in between kindergarten and first grade so I was older than everyone else most of my academic life. The point is that we don't know why she is still in school.

Really, I think there were enough issues with her testimony without jumping on her personally.

I have no experience about or with MMA - is it really a sport, or just how to get down and dirty with fighting, like street fighting?

It only sounds different to the person that is listening to their own voice..

Actually, Det Serino stated on the stand that Mr Martin said "NO", it was not his son's voice. jmo

That implication is completely fair and is common sense, imo. She did not comport herself as an intelligent, caring, balanced person imo.

I think it is very possible and smart to do so when the prosecution witnesses have bolstered the defense during the State's case (IMO) and quite a few of them IMO did exactly that

I learned cursive in 3rd grade, then didnt have the use it the rest of my years in school. Not sure how much I would be able to read though.

Side note: my mother has beautiful handwriting and I've always wished mine was nearly as nice. I guess they used to have "penmanship" class in school and it is a shame that has been lost over the years. I guess they struggle, time-wise, to get in the "required" lessons and penmanship was one of the things that was dropped along the way. Just a guess on my part.

My friends sons do this.. And her sons are amazingly calm and quiet.. I don't know about the fighting but it never goes with her boys imo... KWIM?

No. It's not that a person's voice sounds different to everyone on recording. One's voice sounds different to oneself on recording. We hear our voice reverberate in our head when we speak and most people are very surprised when they first hear their voice on a recording. (Serino tried to explain this phenomenon.) I know that I was stunned… and I'm a singer. I could not believe how high pitched my voice is. I thought it was much deeper. JMO. OMO. MOO.

Not really normal, but from the start the defense was getting prosecution witnesses to give favorable info for the defense when cross examined.

Calling state witnesses for the defense is still another indication that there never was a case against GZ. The trial is for political reasons IMO.

That depends on the school. My son learned it in 3rd grade..

The woman who does my nails has only been in this country for 8 years and English is her second language. Her cursive writing is beautiful. JMO. OMO. MOO.

Intellect is not required to be a witness, but she was virtually unintelligible in her testimony. She may very well be a bright, young woman but unless she learns how to communicate better, she will forever inaccurately be perceived as unintelligent. I listened to her initial testimony a couple of weeks after the incident. It sounded like a different person. She talked very fast and very quietly, but it didn't sound like the woman who testified in court. I'm sure she really did not want this attention, poor gal.

In regards to Miss Jeantel, I disagree with your implication that she is an educated pillar of society. Did you watch the same testimony I did? I don't care how many languages she speaks. She could not read. She was IMO combative on the witness stand and did not come across as being well-spoken OR articulate. Not even a little bit.

Rachel Jeantel was born and raised in Miami. I didn't see any indication that she did not understand English. She understood every word TM said to her on the phone that night.....not a moment's hesitation in stating what he had said to her. I doubt very seriously that she spoke another language any better than she spoke English. If she is as educated as an average high school senior, this country is in big trouble. She has enough common sense to know what she's expected to say. Just like our kids when they know what answers are gonna get them in time-out or grounded. That's sly, not educated.

my younger brother does it, I would consider it a sport. It isnt exactly like street fighting as there are some rules, cant eye gouge, hit the kidneys, low blows etc.
