This recross isn't going well for the state in my opinion.
I remember Judge Perry being very kind, considerate and gentle when he asked KC whether she was going to testify.
This Judge is more annoying than Nurmi and Willmott put together. The Defendant being rushed into a decision on whether to testify or not....not good.
Imo.
But why? ANy idea?
Mr. Zimmerman HAS to be ADVISED of HIS RIGHTS by THE JUDGE and he HAS to be asked HIS desicion re HIS TESTIMONY, by THE JUDGE. Caps for emphasis only...
It's Courtroom protocol and procedure...and Don West has NO RIGHT to try and deprive his client of that RIGHT. It's GZ's decision, NOT his.IMO
I think Judge Nelson has bent over backward to accomodate West's nastiness. Like many, the Judge is fed up with Don West's unlawful actions and interruptions, continually done with a bullying attitude, toward not only her but the Witnesses.IMO
Don West = Judge Wannabe IMO and it's a shame that instead of just denying his silly objections that Judge Nelson didn't call him as he was, Out of Order and in Contempt...Don West is a Master of Contempt...and fine him accordingly....IMO
As it is, IMO, a mistrial can be called because of the undue agressiveness and unlawful procedures of the so-called defense.IMO
Exactly, which is why they didn't do it but the defense did IMOIMO, the state would not want to do that because it will open the door for the defense to bring up TM's record, school suspension, etc. JMO. OMO. MOO.
My opinion is that TM called GZ names because he was scared,
I know I would be scared if in the dark, a stranger in a vehicle was slowly following me, got out, followed me on foot...etc...
Maybe TM would not have been afraid, but I'm thinking human nature.
Why is the state getting a chance to re-redirect?

Because the burden of proof is on them and they have the right to counter all and any evidence the defense has put up.Why is the state getting a chance to re-redirect?

I think the judge was forcing him to answer early to help the prosecution know what to plan for. JMO. But I think she's been a terrible judge through the whole thing because she's just not good at her job. IMO MOO
At the end of the defense's case, not in the middle of arguably their star witness.
IMHO
Or use the SYG lawI'd be afraid. And I have been followed (as a teenager) - and was scared. But I wouldn't confront the person following me. I'd try to get to safety - in TM's case that would be at home behind a locked door - or if his home were far, to knock on the door of a house where it appeared people were home. If TM had truly been scared, IMO, he would have gotten to safety or used his phone to call 911.
No. He does not have to decide until their case is completed. Asking him when he will be ready is not appropriate. He can not answer until he knows how his case looks in the entirety.
I on the other hand have seen a few fights where the main form of attack was throwing punchs. There are a lot or reasons for the way fights happen as such.I've only ever witnessed bar brawls, and there's usually a lot of chasing, pulling, shoving and shouting, very little punching ever takes place, even though they are long-winded affairs compared to these 2 minutes.
You know, I have to say - that if the jury is as split as we are on this board- it's going to make for some long contentious deliberations. I cannot really recall a time in all my years on Websleuths that we have been so divided. Running high on emotion yes - but for the most part, in my experience, the vast majority of us have been on the same "side." Definitely not so in this case. And I can barely even look in the mirror at myself on this one- suddenly I am liking defense attorneys, annoyed with prosecutors--who am I?! I think everyone will breathe a sigh of relief once this case is concluded - hopefully with the just verdict and without incident following whatever that just verdict is. IMO.
Okay that makes sense if TM fell forward- except it was 160 lbs - and if he fell on GZ, surely some of TM's blood from a mortal wound would be on GZ wouldn't it? But it he fell back or over to the side? His body was lying flat wasn't it? Not twisted? And how would his arms be neatly underneath himself. And when did GZ stretch his arms out straight?
