The bottom line for me, is that I simply could not convict GZ of anything that he has been charged with. There is way to much reasonable doubt and way too little evidence. The State, IMO, has not proven that GZ did NOT act in Self Defense.

I keep hearing folks saying that a teenager was gunned down, and killed, and GZ must pay for that. I certainly understand that feeling, I feel so sad for everyone involved. However, if I were a juror, as much as I may want to convict GZ for this tragic death, I simply could not do it!

IMO!

A whole lot of supposing. No facts in evidence. it does not matter to the case and what the state has to prove.

That cuts both ways and this Defense lawyer is doing a lot of supposing..just filling in the evidence....not even logical...

And here we go with the ridiculous thought is that George got on top and moved out TM's hands to the side> All this in the 10 - 15 seconds while TM is conscious - TM still has to roll himself away onto his stomach.

Not working MOM

IMO

IMO - I completely agree

Hung jury? Guilty? Not Guilty? I know what I think the evidence proves but I'll never again attempt to predict a jury's verdict - not after the "surprise" of the OJ and CA trials. IMO

Good Morning Everyone,

Thank you for posting on the Zimmerman trial thread and keeping the discussion flowing with facts of the case and opinions.

We all know the rules by now. If someone choses to use name calling in their post, or attacks another poster , will get an automatic time out.

You all know what we allow and do not allow.

Even if the name you chose to call someone is very mild you will still receive a time out.

Again, thank you for keeping things calm so we can all discuss the case.

Take Care,
Tricia

Another stomach turner in this circus IS that two nights ago when O'Mara gave his press conference, he had the blinking purple nerve to say, " We're getting to the Fun Part of the trial next."
IMO
" Fun part" is verbatim..the rest is on the video of his fun news conference.IMO

This one dimemensional animation ( George Zimmerman's Dimension ) is fitting together actions and sounds which amounts to : Connecting the Dots, what he doesn't want anyone else to do. IMO

This animation feels too impersonal to me.

PS morning peeps

Then why did he tell the neighbor to phone his wife and tell her he just shot someone? IMO

Because maybe at that point, he did realize it. But I don't think at first he realized he hit him and certainly not that he killed him. OMO

This is so different from yesterday. MOM actually showing the evidence, piecemeal. Not yelling, not holding up skittles, not skipping around mocking GZ.

I do believe the State made some really good points, however I wished they would have toned down some of the theatrics :blushing: They could have gotten their point across, maybe more so, had that not done the over acting.

They are proving it. It doesn't make sense. GZ is a liar, the prosecution showed that. I don't believe him. Therefore I think his self defense claim is bogus. If his self defense claim is bogus then he committed manslaughter. IMO

How did the prosecution prove GZ is a liar?

Wish I could thank x 10 your post. I still wonder why RJ didn't call TM the next day, or the day after that? I think -- moo -- that she thought he got caught doing something. TM was there because he was suspended from school. It is not in evidence but he had a bag of jewelry and tools in his backpack at school. So if RJ was his good friend she would have know that background.

While this isn't true as you have stated it and is not relevant to this trial - is it time for me to bring up GZ's violent background??

IMO

Does anyone know if there is a time limit on the prosecution's rebuttal closing argument?

  • #196
Keep in mind that the State makes the last presentation.....

Well aware of that but remember that the rebuttal can only address what the defense presented in their closing. Nothing more. IMO

Because maybe at that point, he did realize it. But I don't think at first he realized he hit him and certainly not that he killed him. OMO

Then why holster his gun? Why not still in fear for his life since he'd been so badly "beaten"? No one is answering that large elephant in the room. IMO
