If Crump gets on the stand, that'll be some show when the defense starts questioning him. It'll make when RJ was up there seem like tea.

What I'm hearing is taht Crump is jerking them around on the depositions.
The judge is saying so what, and is coming very close to violating the order of the Appellate Court.

Really? Where did you hear this?

I know that he does not want to answer questions from the defense.

Is this what you mean?

  • #523
I wonder if Crump was unavailable? He's been laying low.

The judge said he has been at court and available every single day. He's not allowed in the courtroom, as he could be called to the stand. But, he is there.

  • #524
That the defense had a right to call Crump. GThe judge ruled they couldn't. They had it overruled.

JMO..Crump will be used by the defense to show bias, misstatements, and possibly shaping testimony ala RJ..again just my opinion

There is no way the state will finish today. They still have to call the coroner, the Martins, and the Zimmermen. If they don't call the Zimmerman the state is very close to contempt because they kicked them out of the court because they would call them.

Sorry fat fingering a lot today.

Unless something crazy happens in the next few hours, the state did not prove 2nd degree murder. Sorry, but the evidence just isn't there. You can make a stretch for Manslaughter, but he's not being charged with that.

I will be popping lots of popcorn for that one! The Martins appear to have another attorney, Mr. Parks - such a difference from Crump. He does a few of the talk shows and IMO, if he were on board at the beginning, maybe lots of this nonsense would not have happened.

Ah, so that's what DW meant when he said one of the lawyers couldn't leave the courtroom during the trial. Maybe one should.....

This is such boring testimony. Is there a juror who doesn't know all this DNA stuff, or can't hear the answer after some evidence is discussed?

Oh okay. I wonder why they would want to talk to him? Yeah, that would be interesting.

I do agree with the judge. I know tomorrow is a holiday but let them depose him tonight. I don't always agree with defense or prosecution dragging out a case. There was a horrible abuse of this in the Arias case.

Maybe the attorney has been dodging them. Surely they can get this done and this case can be resolved.

IMO, if the state rests today, they have proven nothing.

they have a very good reason as to why they want to talk to him imo.

http://articles.orlandosentinel.com...ase-phone-with-trayvon-moments-benjamin-crump

from link:

Defense attorneys want to learn more about Crump's dealings with the state's most important witness, a young Miami woman who was on the phone with Trayvon moments before Zimmerman shot the Miami Gardens 17-year-old to death Feb. 26, 2012, in Sanford.

Crump discovered her and recorded an interview with her before police even knew that she existed or that Trayvon had been on the phone with anyone.

Defense attorneys argue that since she's now admitted to lying - both during Crump's interview and during another session while under oath - they should be able to press Crump for details to determine if she made other misstatements.

Those lies are her claim during Crump's interview that she was 16 years old, when she was really 18. Also, she told Assistant State Attorney Bernie de la Rionda under oath that she had missed Trayvon's wake and funeral because she was in the hospital.

Two weeks ago during her deposition, she admitted the misstatements and told defense attorneys that Trayvon's mother was present during both interviews and that's the reason she said she had been in the hospital.

IMO, this is why they want to question him.

Rachel's testimony on the stand touched on this issue as well.

I hope they can get him for witness tampering jmo.

Of course he has, imo. He used to show up in court all the time. Now he doesn't even do the pressers. His partner Parks does them. He's staying far, far away on purpose, imo.

Thanks to all who answered my questions about Crump. One lawyer questioning another. That should be good.

Wonder if it will be like Juan Martinez and Alice LaViolette? :)

Kidding aside, Mr. crump sounds like an instigator who may have stretched things out of proportion. Hmmm.

Innocent till proven guilt. Prosecution has burden in THIS country.

I realize this....and I believe this is why we are all here...there is a trial going on. :seeya:

Sometimes, in THIS country, people are guilty and still get off at trial. A court finding a person non-guilty, doesn't always mean the person is "innocent".

I will never believe that GZ is "innocent". No matter how this turns out, GZ is responsible for his actions that night. He put the wheels in motion. He had many other choices than killing an unarmed teenager. Whether he is found guilty in a court of law or not, this was completely avoidable. IMO

When someone calls 911 about a suspious person, the 911 operator who takes the call asks for a description of the person/persons. In order to give that info you have to know what kind of person, white black etc.

Most of the time they will ask what color the person is as they did in the gz call that the media just happened to leave out.

One of the keys to identifying a suspect or suspious person is what they look like, clothes etc- and what race or color they are. Its part of LE training.

TM was profiled in a way if thats what you want to label it. It has to be done no matter what color you are.

I think if everyone can understand how this works more people would understand how this all got started.

A young man standing around on a dark drizzly night looks out of place. Someone sees him and calls a NEN to let them know that something is out of place and may be a problem since the area had quite a few break ins. Nothing wrong with that right?

They tell gz that they don't need him to follow but he wants to find an address number- he turns to go back to his truck and the suspious person jumps out and confronts him. So far gz has done nothing illegal.

Didn't miss Rachel say that tm was almost home or at home and went back- I need to find that- but anyway so far we have a young man that was very suspious and gz was concerned-

Thats all this event started out to be. It has nothing to do with skin color other than what a few in the media claimed because of their own views.
Plus all the chatter about gz wanting to be a cop at one time. So what? I think thats a GOOD thing don't you?

That shows me that he had a goal to help people and it really shows since he took on the job of neighboorhood watch that he has a genuine concern for ALL the folks in the complex which is a mix of blacks browns whites and reds.

But he was labeled AGAIN. Now hes called a "Wanna be Cop"- so we got racist, profiler, murderer and wanna be cop-

Looks like a hanging to me- I sure found out a lot in the past few days. Paying close attention to the testimony I believe that the witnesses see this also. MOO

IIRC Parks works for Crump's law firm.

Karmady, he is there. He's not allowed in the courtroom and can't do anything else because he is on the witness list. Once he is off the witness list, I am sure we will hear from him.

Okay can someone tell me what DNA evidence they plan to make a big deal out of?

Or is this just another pointless expert witness (like the fingerprint expert) to give the impression the state is providing real evidence? When in fact it seems they are just adding a lot of pointless tech speak that means nothing? IMO.
