I don't know.. I think that it shows absolutely that the witness said in the past he did not know and now he is saying it is him.. Completely impeachable.. and correct use of evidence.

JMO

I think what he said was that when he first heard the screaming, he didn't know who it was screaming. He then came to believe it was his brother.

I've been very impressed with this judge.

I haven't and neither has the Court of Appeals. In the unlikely event George is convicted, she'll be reversed. jmo

If the Prosecution wraps up their case early before normal court time ends, does the Defense have to begin their case immediately thereafter?

PLEASE REMEMBER YOU MUST ADD, "IN MY OPINION" TO ALL POSTS THAT ARE NOT FACT AND/OR BACKED UP WITH A LINK.

"IMO" WORKS TOO.

THIS IS A MUST IF YOU WANT YOUR POSTS TO STAND.

THANKS,
Tricia

Wait. I though he said it WAS TM in court but on the tape he said he was not sure....

Nope. He said when he first heard the recording he wasn't sure, didn't know, who was screaming. On the stand, he talked about not wanting to think it was his brother, shock, etc. But he came to believe now that it was his brother. IIRC

I think I would recognize my daughter screaming for her life. As a matter of fact I know I would recognize her voice. IMO

You want to believe it and so do I. But unless she was the only one there, And just heard screams I bet you would run in that direction if you did not know where she was THINKING it was her.. even if it wasn't.

having raised one to adulthood and having 2 more little ones, And all the times I have turned thinking it was them yelling for me, I just gotta say it is not that simple...

I hope GZ gets on the stand to explain his prior understanding of stand your ground before they handed him a loaded gun to carry around. IMO

  • #108
....and I don't think it makes a difference where he came from or how educated he was....at that point in time he was walking home from the store ,not doing anything suspicious at all/He was being followed which made him fearful.

I don't care who screamed for help either,it was George that initiated the confrontation by following Trayvon IMO

I personally appreciate the reminders. Many times I have wanted to say something and stopped, thanks to these reminders. I'm not here to fight, just discuss. Thank you mods, for keeping this civil. :seeya:

I appreciate the mods also because they are very fair. It's a hard job, IMO.

That would be OPINION and no one called TM a 🤬🤬🤬🤬..

But just because you raise your kids the same does not mean they turn out the same.

TM was on a suspension and not living with her.. There had to be a reason for that..

Not saying he was a bad guy.. Just that he had some issues..
JMO

All teenagers have issues at one time or another. GZ had his issues when he was an adult.

JMO

I would think it would be up to the judge and I think she would let the defense begin. IIRC, the defense starts out asking for dismissal, etc. before they put on their case. MOO

I can't think of anything more simple then being able to identify my daughter's voice. IMO

Any testimony TM's mom makes regarding the scream will be negated, IMO, when GZ's parents and sister testify that it is GZ's. This will be a wash and, IMO, is just to inflame the passions of the jury. None of the family were witnesses to the incident, they should all stay off the stand, IMO.

This evidence locker thing is ridiculous.. Really.

MOO.

Seriously. It makes the state look bad IMO. Did the jury actually hear that was the problem? I don't know SOP for securing evidence but there should be some kind of security procedure with extra keys so the court doesn't have to wait on a locksmith. Anyone ever see this happen in another trial?

Is she identifying the hoodie? Just a guess of something that would emotional resonance. BS on WFTV is saying SF should have been last. Yep. NOt really understanding why the family didn't come after the ME.

Wait. I though he said it WAS TM in court but on the tape he said he was not sure....

Summary: when he first heard the tape with all of the family lawyers, their PR person, the mayor, etc. He couldn't say for sure it was Trayvon. When he was interviewd two weeks later on the news, he heard the tape again and still couldn't say it was Trayvon. But now, in court, he can.

Would have been nice to hear the actual tape, but not necessary. I think the jury understands what's going on. jmo

You say initiated the confrontation...but who initiated the physical fight? If TM was fearful he could have used his non-confrontational words (not crappy _ss cracker, (refer to RJ's testimony). He could well have said that there were no worries, he was on his way home.

Instead, TM chose to hit GZ, beginning the physical beating that led GZ to fear for his life and reach for his gun to save his life. MOO

However I think on the stand the neighbor said that GZ was calling to him once he came out to help him... And he said, Im calling 911..

JMO

Well of course it was GZ calling after Trayvon was dead- that has never in dispute. Calling out is not screaming.
The screams stopped dead with the shot- but GZ claims he was still in mortal fear of his life- had no idea Trayvon was dead. Makes no sense.
I hope GZ takes the stand to explain. IMHO.

Will there be any doubt GZ's parents will do what it takes to keep their son out of jail? We have seen this predictable lying in too many trials.

BBM

Is the ME on the Prosecution's witness list? If they don't call him to me, that would indicate that his testimony would be of no help to them.

That may be the case for you. I have never mistaken my son's voice for anyone elses. I know his voice very well. I know for a fact that I would recognize his screams and cries for help.
