"Sorry, but if you are going to do something at work and your boss says, "yeah I don't need you to do that" - are you going to just do it anyway??"

I don't think this analogy applies as a 911 operator is NOT your (or my) boss.

just reiterating my take on the 911 call:

if one is not going to take the advice given by 911, one does not call 911. emergency or non-emergency.

Guys, If you start arguing points, or making a judgment now that causes an argument, they are going to close this down and not let us discuss the case.

Just talk about the facts, Don't make absolutes because the truth is, that none of us was there and none of us know for sure. WE can only speculate. Listen to the evidence and let it lead you. This is not evidence today. IT is just opening statements. Persuasive argument.

Just take a pause before posting.

I agree, we should just talk about the OS. The OS is not fact and it's not testimony so there is no point going into specific points about what he's saying yet.

If you remember back when discussion was going on, there was talk of 'stalking' but I'm not sure the prosecution is going down that road. I never thought GZ was 'stalking' TM.

by the legal definition of stalking, no GZ was not stalking TM

While state opening eloquently played on emotion, defense bogs down in clumsy, sometimes rambling recitation of timeline facts.

this is just suppose to be a preview of what your case will be...seriously.

Sorry, but if you are going to do something at work and your boss says, "yeah I don't need you to do that" - are you going to just do it anyway??

That is saying "don't do it, we got this when we get there."

I hope George goes down.

George followed him for 11 seconds and then returned to his car. This is a VERY clear case of self defense.

Where have you heard he returned to his car? And if so, how did he get OUT of his car to be attacked and then kill Trayvon?

To me, the screams sound like a young, not fully-developed voice. I don't believe that cry for help sounds like it came out of Zimmerman's diaphragm and vocal chords.

Did the defense lawyer represent that as the entire Zimmerman call to Sanford PD? That seemed far too short to be the entire call, IMO.

I wasn't listening as closely as I should since my cat was harassing me.

Totally agree with this- my ears heard the same thing. I don't believe it is GZ.

Jurors show little emotion hearing fatal shot. Sybrina Fulton leaves courtroom before it is heard.

He was returning to his car but was suprised by Trayvon.

He was already out of his vehicle, returning to his vehicle when he was attacked.

He only followed him to see where Trayvon was going and to get a street address.

How can you continue to follow someone if you do not know where they are at?

He continued to look for him and found him.

Otherwise, how do you explain they were in each other's presence in order for George to be attacked (according to him) and for Trayvon to get shot?

Are you saying that Trayvon then found GEORGE and followed him and jumped him...or found him in his car and pulled him out of it to start beating him?

Just confused about what you think happened.

It is the entire call

If someone who is in public safety tells me not to do something I will do exactly what they tell me to do. No operators are not police. They give impt info to police and try to help keep the person calm and safe until help arrives. I have listened to 911 calls where a burglery is in progress and the panicky person said something along the lines of "OMG I think thats the back door I need to see!" and the operator told them not to go out there but stay hidden. Now, they had no legal reason to listen I suppose. But not following the advice could have had very bad consequences.

I have not read that...in any account. Where did you read this report? I assume this is George's version of events, but again, that's not the story I heard from George.

I would like to hear an enhanced version of that screaming, cries for help phone call several times. To me that call, and Zimmerman's refusal to stand down when instructed in his call to 911, are keys to juror's decision

Hi Everyone,

Hat's off to Raine1212 who is moderating this thread.

Thanks to Sue for fixing the thread so people could actually see their posts.

This is a the first time we have opened a thread for discussion in this case in a long time. Many of you are bursting with your opinions which is great.

Please remember, in this case especially, you will have to agree to disagree on many topics and then move on.

Everyone is posting fine. If we can keep it like this all the time we won't have a problem.

Thank you very much.

Tricia
