On national television, Anthony's attorney Brad Conway released a statement denying George Anthony was ever involved with River Cruz. He also said Cruz never gave George Anthony thousands of dollars and denied George said Caylee's death was an accident that snowballed out of control.

In the statement, Conway said, "George did not have a sexual relationship with her (River Cruz). He did not receive $5,000 or whatever she is claiming she gave him."

Conway even tried to discredit Cruz and her twin sister Skye Benhaida. He said the women shopped the stories around to the National Enquirer and other tabloid newspapers.

"I have no idea where that comment came from," Benhaida told CNN's Nancy Grace.

"So you would deny that it's been sold to the National Enquirer?" asked Grace.

"I'm denying it," confirmed Benhaida.

Benhaida also said that her sister, River Cruz, was contacted by an attorney from Casey's defense team on Tuesday.

LE has their backup..I will await for them to say, GA's phone was hacked into! He must know before going out on a limb, LE would have evidence to back that claim. Also putting it out there she wanted to sell her story to the NE, false allegation, IMO...how would he know that as well???

Also, If RC gave GA $5000, lets hope it's in paper form and not cash handed over...can't dispute a check especially after it's been cashed!

This is going to be battle of the statements, should this make it into trial. I'd say, if GA heard this straight from Inmate Anthony, then it has bearing on the case. If it's only something he has said to make himself feel better about Caylee's death or the actions of Inmate Anthony, it holds no water at all. I do hope there are more to the texts that will definately show this family for what they are, strangers to the truth in any way, shape or form. Lies easily roll off their tongues, it's first nature to them all...

They will now discredit this woman by putting loads of rumors out there about her. He (BC) claims her name is CH..how would he know this? I feel sorry for this woman and I do hope she has an attorney to respresent her..she may wind up needing them!

"SHEAFFER: The bottom line is, is that George made this statement, that the child was dead, one month before the body was found, when in public he`s professing that the child has been kidnapped.

That shows that either he had direct knowledge of that death of the child or that the killer confided into -- confided that information to him that the child was dead. And the only person that has that relationship with him is the killer. The mother."

Thankyou! I could care less about an affair etc........but this is what we are finding out! IMO, I always thought the whole family knew in Nov.

I hope that by this morning, this woman has gotten herself a lawyer to protect her own rights, before discussing anything with any defense team member, either that or let all calls go to voicemail until she gets her own representation. Brad is out front & center speaking as GA's representative.

This is what bothers me the most. Having been part of a high profile case in FLorida the SA and LE tell you not to talk to the media if you want the prosecution of the case to go smoothly. I wish for Caylee's sake everyone would stay quiet. I am so proud of TL, AH and all the other young people who have not brought out the information that they have until after the trial! Can this info influence the case against KC, I don't know, but it just seems to make the whole case more of a circus rather than justice for Caylee.

Justice for Caylee!

Now wouldn't it make sense for GA, if this were true, to say yes I did mention this to her because at the time I was thinking if Caylee were dead it would have to have been an accident because I know my daughter would not have killed my granddaughter. It was the only way I was able to cope with this whole situation. If GA used all three phones there is no way he can say his phone was hacked so if what has been said is true it can only get more interesting from here. I think the A's have told enough lies to last 10 lifetimes. Clock is ticking....they need to start telling the truth or just say no comment. JMO

anyhow, others here are using a spelling of Krystal.

Someone said in a post somewhere on page 25 or 26, I would have to go and look, that one of the sisters has a felony? I have not seen that anywhere...so...that perhaps needs to be verified somehow???

KATHI BELICH, WFTV: Well, I`m told that he visited her many times at her gated community, that -- I was told that investigators took records from the security gate that would document George`s many visits to her house. I`m told that...

BELICH: I`m told that George made many visits to her home. She lives in a gated community, and that -- I was told that investigators -- by her and her sister, that investigators did go to the security gate and did get records to that effect, to show that George had been -- had visited her on a number of occasions.

GRACE: Do they have surveillance there?

BELICH: I don`t know about that. I don`t know if there`s surveillance video there, but...

GRACE: OK. Go ahead.

BELICH: She says that investigators came to her on February 18th, according to her, out of the blue. And she never wanted to get involved in all of this, and now she`s very afraid of how she will be portrayed, for obvious reasons. But she said that she never pressed George about Casey and Caylee and what happened. She said that during the course of a conversation where he was actually thanking her for that -- and she believes it was sometime around Thanksgiving, maybe a month before...

GRACE: Wait. Thanking her for what?

BELICH: For not pressing him to find out, you know, what happened to Caylee, whether Casey was involved, that he appreciated she wasn`t asking him about that. But she says during the course of thanking her for not pressing him about that issue, that he told her it was an accident that snowballed out of control. And she believes that conversation happened sometime around Thanksgiving, in the fall before Caylee`s remains were found.

GRACE: OK, Kathi, how does the alleged other woman, River Cruz, claim that they met to start with?

BELICH: She says that she actually was grocery shopping in the shopping center where he had one of the early tents, during one of the early searches for Caylee. She saw him in the parking lot. She recognized him after having seen him on television, started talking to him. And she says she wanted to help in the search. So that`s how she met him.

And then she started to come to volunteer helping with the searches, and over time, they talked a little more. And she says that she was donating money that was in a bucket at one of the tents. And according to her, George made it clear that that money would go to a charity and not to him. And it went from there.

But I sincerely hope these types of statements can either be proven without question (at least to the moderator) or not allowed to sit on such a fine site as WS. Integrity is everything and this site is known for it's integrity.

Whatever we feel about these women, whether they deal in truth or not...certain only truth (not rumor or supposition) is the bedrock foundation here.

That is the text that WFTV showed a picture of on their site. For all we know she saved a friend's number under the name George Anthony and had the friend (or sister) text her this past December.

If they have been shopping the deal for some time, chances are they hatched this plan a while back.

Plus, George was under 24/7 surveillance by the media, public, and law enforcement when this was all going on. Hard to think he was having some sordid affair and no one caught wind of it, not even the great Kathi B...

This is the first time I've read or posted on this thread regarding George's affair and comment about an "accident". I must say that I totally agree with you. How the heck did this man find the time and privacy to have an affair during this time frame? He was under surveillance 24/7 with video cams, protesters, reporters, neighbors, TV news networks, supporters, you name it. How on earth could he have an affair under these circumstances? Also, just a thought on the "accident" comment. George, if he did say it, could have said it was an accident because that is the only way he could cope with a "dead" Caylee. Being Caylee's grandfather he probably couldn't cope at all if he accepted the fact that his very own daughter may have intentionally took his little granddaughter's life.

ETA: You are correct in your statement that she (the alledged mistress) could have saved anyone's phone number under the name of George. But surely LE has researched and confirmed if the number is actually George's number.

Not as far as I know, it has not been verified. I hope any misinformation does not spread over the web like wildfire and use WS as the source.

FYI...my own opinion. The term "gated community" means nothing special. It COULD be something that is highly secure or it could be just another nice apartment complex or condo complex that has security gates. I would agree it is a step up from a regular community, but a poster was asking how on earth these sisters could get in to live in a gated community. Anybody can find one.

I'm still trying to catch up with this thread, but a thought has occurred to me and I'd like to pose this question...................

In the past 6 weeks, we've had several issues arise in this case:

February 3rd.........the prosecution makes a motion requesting a meeting with the judge without the presence of the defense and also requests that information considered discovery be withheld from the defense and public for a period of time.

February 22nd.......the Anthony home goes into foreclosure.

March 5th..............the defense makes a motion to declare Casey Anthony indigent (Casey declared indigent on March 10th).

March 12th............it's revealed that George Anthony had an affair with a woman early in this case and it's alleged that he told her that Caylee's death was an accident that snowballed.

Are these issues separate and apart, a coincidence that they're all happening at this time, or are all these issues inner-related?

Feb 3 - I think it's a fairly safe bet at this point that this affair and the information from the mistress is what LE was investigating and seeking to keep sealed while investigating. Given the extreme intimate and personal nature of what they were investigating and its possible impact on the defendents family, asking to keep it sealed until everyone was 100% certain of what they had and to forestall the media circus we are now seeing is a reasonable request.

Feb 22 - This is probably more of a symptom of a deteriorating relationship between CA and GA. Isn't marital distress by far the most common cause to allow a house to willfully go into foreclosure? CA may have simply decided not to keep a roof over his head anymore. hard to speculate. But I really don't think there is any deep conspiracy or clever plan with the foreclosure.

March 5th - This is more teid to it being 30 days after her sentancing on Fraud charges, so JB can use the closing of that case to hide recieved funds from the court. (speculation on my part, but does anyone here doubt it?). AL probably forced the issue in order to get some actual depositions done and pay people for doing them.

March 12 - This one is about the only somewhat "conspiratorial" element of this. We know that assuming that the affair and the GF where the investigation that the SA requested to keep secret for a time, that that time would be up on March 18. But the state has never publicly released or leaked any of this stuff that we are aware of. And I cannot see any benefit to them in releasing this info early. The defense however would surely love to take some attention off of the whole indigency/how much were they paid/etc questions that began on the 5th.

So while there is a direct tie and flow of most of these days and events. It is probably a more natural one and not some preplanned chain of events.

1. Cindy's deposition which reveals the existance of the "batphones"
2. DC's deposition which in all likelyhood brings more info about those phones and the activities of those using them.
3. LE begins the task of investigating every number that appears inbound or outbound on the batphones thay are able to confirm. They probably run the numbers past DC to identify where possible. They also pull any text messages and find some info that makes them question Georges activities. Now while salacious it may have no real evidentiary value so they go cautious and seek to seal this potion of th einvestigation.
4. They contact the woman and get some quite interesting stories. Her phones, cameras, computers etc. Also a pretty good timeline of her contacts with George.
5. Unrelated to all of this, the defense is running out of money for depositions and such. AL is putting huge preasure on JB wanting to declare indigency so they can get the state to pay for such things. JB has been resisting since it means opening up the books on where the money came from and where it went. Finally 30 days after the fraud sentancing (THIS IS IMPORTANT TIMING) he relents and they file.
6. The affair leaks out and participants start talking in public. Apparently the National Enquirer was clued in on it.

Just a more activity then we have seen in awile, but a pretty natural flow that ties together. It all seems to stem from following up on info from the depositions. Which probably took them several weeks/months to fully do. The foreclosure is probably just more of a symptom of the events and not an event in and of itself.

It depends on the level of security. Some more secure places have people who verify your destination by name or address. There are other communities that are gated, but you only need a pass code.
