As the spokeswoman of the prosecutor's office, Katja Schlenkermann-Pitts, confirmed at the request of our editorial team, the police have been looking for the missing Dorota Galuszka-Granieczny with a team of one hundred officers ["Hundertschaft"] and divers. Cadaver dogs were part of the operation.
The young woman was last seen on 18 October. According to police, the 29-year-old left the house, where she lives with her husband and her seven-year-old son, around 11 o'clock pm. She was allegedly wearing a black leather jacket and black high-heeled shoes.
On Monday, almost two weeks after the disappearance, her husband was arrested. "If a 29-year-old gives no sign of life for such a long time, a homicide is suspected," according to a spokeswoman for the Aachen prosecutor's office on Wednesday. Already in the evening the husband was free. again There was not enough evidence for a grave suspicion of criminal offense.
It is unclear why the police waited two weeks after the disappearance to search for the young woman in the adjoining forest. "There are no new clues," the prosecutor told our editorial office.
In the forest near the village Süsterseel in the Selfkant there are also numerous (small) lakes. This is why divers are also involved. The police has not yet searched for Dorota on the Dutch side of the woodland.
Already on Friday friends and relatives were looking for Dorota in a forest in the neighboring village of Gangelt. On foot, twelve helpers searched for clues in a small wooded area near Dorotha's place of residence on the Friday evening. Because it was already dark, the helpers had flashlights.
The search party did not find any information on Friday evening. At first there was hope after one of the helpers had discovered a woman's pantyhose. But these turned out to be women's clothes that had been thrown away. The police determined this during the evening, after the search party had called them for help.
