Found Deceased Germany - Fabian, 8, Güstrow, 10 Oct 2025

  • #101

Even two weeks after Gina H.'s arrest, peace has barely returned to her hometown. Several residents have noticed something striking: since Gina H.'s detention, it is Fabian's father who has been caring for her horses. Among them is her mare Cleo, with whom Gina H. competed in show jumping tournaments. The horses are kept in a pasture near her house. Fabian's father is there several times a day, tending to the animals, reports the Nordkurier newspaper. But why is he doing this when Gina H. is under strong suspicion of having killed his son?

Google translation (if you can see the article in English?)
What a sad, strange case.

In answer to the article's question, I wonder if the father simply feels compassion for the animals that he'd likely gotten to be close to while dating his ex. It would be heartbreaking, but I could imagine someone who had bonded with a partner's pets (ok, horses are a slightly different level) over 4 years wanting to care for those additional "victims" if no one else were available to do it, and if it kept them out of a shelter or worse.

I've also been wondering about the ex-gf's motives: either (1) to take revenge on Fabian's father for their break-up or even something else, or (2) could she perhaps blame Fabian for the break-up, either directly or for being a higher priority to his father than she was?

BTW, FromGermany1, thank you for sharing all these links and translations for us!

(Edited to add: My German's weak, but it looks like the article says that the suspect's own son is in the care of the German version of CPS: "Der Sohn von Gina H. ist in der Obhut des Jugendamtes." That seems like the child's father and any family of either Gina H or her child's father are not available. I wonder then, if a possible lack of other close personal relationships caused her to take the break-up with Fabian's father especially badly.)

Seems like he's a good person and has found a way to keep busy by caring for animals that clearly need someone right now. I hope he finds some healing, peace, or at least distraction while spending time with these horses.
I hope someone is also there for him.

When Fabian's father and Gina H. were together, he also mainly cared for her horses, I've read. MOO

I guess it can be that he knows the animals, and they know him and that the horses have no other person to care for them at this time.

Gina H. führte weitere Personen zu Fabians Leiche | Heute.at

It has now been reported that Gina H. had previously led two other people to the location of the body, according to RTL.

A witness told the private broadcaster that Gina H. had already led him to the pond on the night of 14 October. Once there, Gina H. remained standing behind him while he went down to the pond with a torch. He was aware that he was standing in front of a body, but could not identify Fabian.

He did not alert the police out of fear of coming under suspicion and because he felt overwhelmed, the man told RTL. However, he made a statement to the police the next day. He now believes that Gina H. wanted to plant his tracks at the location where the body was found.

That is why she insisted on driving to the location in his car. According to RTL, Gina H. allegedly led another person to the pond. Neither person is considered a suspect.

Fall Fabian: Verdächtige beschwert sich beim Amtsgericht

The lawyer representing the woman held in custody on suspicion of murder in the Fabian case has lodged an appeal against the refusal to release his client. The Rostock Magistrates' Court has confirmed receipt of the appeal. Lawyer Andreas Ohm had announced this step immediately after the Magistrates' Court confirmed the detention order on 3 December.

He based his request for a review of the detention on, among other things, the fact that the grounds for detention were based solely on circumstantial evidence. However, a magistrate at the district court upheld the arrest warrant on 3 December. With the appeal, the lawyer now wants to have the arrest warrant reviewed by the regional court. Ohm emphasised last week that he hopes for a decision before Christmas. An appeals chamber at the regional court will review the case.

Circumstantial evidence can decide a case. Leading various persons separately to the location of the remains is pretty damning.
IMO someone will not be home for Christmas anytime soon.

She took two people to see the body? Devious.

Pardon my ignorance, but is Gina the ex-gf? I just want to make sure I am understanding what's going on here.

But why would she do that? Wouldn't that just make them suspicious of her?

For anybody (like me) who can't access the Austrian link, https://www.rtl.de/news/mordfall-fa...ber-haft-kommt-sie-jetzt-frei-id30120489.html
see video.

The title suggests more than one person was taken by Gina H. to see where Fabian was lying deceased, but during the video I hear of just one person. According to this, Gina H. told the man being interviewed to take the flashlight and shine it on Fabian's face and then she told him it was Fabian. (According to him.)

He didn't tell the police until G.H. had been arrested. That was a while ago though, so the police didn't find out just yesterday or anything. Of course, they don't owe us any answers, not saying that. Just, they've known a while and JMO I hope it's helping them.

The chief public prosecutor reports a good quantity of "mittelbare Beweise" which I've found translated as "(pieces of) circumstantial evidence" or "(instances of) indirect evidence", I'm not sure if those are the exact same thing in English. JMO

Because she was proud of it. And she probably took pleasure out of seeing others' distress.
