Then 10-year-old Hilal Ercan from Hamburg-Lurup has been missing since January 27, 1999, around 1:30 p.m. from Elbgaustrasse/Spreestrasse area.

Police are asking the following:
- Who saw Hilal around 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday, January 27th, 1999 in the immediate vicinity of the Elbgaupassage in Hmb.-Lurup?
- Who can tell about the whereabouts of Hilal's clothes or items such as her earrings and hair clips?
- Who can remember a man standing by a car near the Elbgaupassage, working in the vehicle or giving the impression of waiting for someone?
- Who noticed a parked or driving car in a remote area on the outskirts of Hamburg after 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 27, 1999?
- In addition, police are asking the man who called the Ercan family on 3 February 1999 and said he had information about Hilal's disappearance to come forward.

- A reward of €20,000 is being offered for information leading to the investigation of the crime or the arrest of the perpetrator(s).
