Germany Germany - Inga Gehricke, 5, Stendal, Sachsen-Anhalt, 2 May 2015

  • #421
Right! Police is digging since the early morning after a group of private cadaver dogs alerted at the site, two weeks ago. Three different dogs marked the same spot and parts of blue duct tape had been handed over to the police to be examined.

Probably some new clues? Fingers crossed!

Wow, that article seems a little bit more precise:

"Is this the end of a missing person case that sent the Republic into a frenzy? In Saxony-Anhalt, the police are digging for the body of a girl at a certain location.

The police are investigating new leads in the Inga Gehricke case. Officials have been on duty near Stendal since Thursday morning digging for the child's remains.

Prosecutor Thomas Kramer confirmed the search to t-online. Appropriate police teams are on site searching for Inga in the ground. However, results are no longer expected on Thursday: "We are at the very beginning of the search effort and will proceed with utmost thoroughness and take the time necessary," he said.

Inga Gehricke case: Special search dogs were on the scene
The search is now on private property. It is a former military site. Digging is being done with shovels and spades, and a mini excavator is also available, said a spokesman for the Halle police station.

A few days ago, special dogs attacked the location near Uchtspringe in the Stendal district during a private search, prosecutor Kramer told t-online. As the “Volksstimme” reported, the dogs are said to be able to sniff out tiny amounts of human tissue.

Inga Gehricke disappeared on May 2, 2015. The then five-year-old girl from Schönebeck went on a trip to Wilhelmshof near Stendal with her family. To this day it is unclear what happened."

According to recent reports, the search has been finished without the result of finding a human skeleton. I'm not sure how to handle that statement. Says all and nothing at once.

But now it's getting interesting anyway:

Vermisste Inga: Es gibt eine neue Spur

"Uchtspringe (Saxony-Anhalt) – More than eight years ago, the then five-year-old Inga disappeared without a trace. Now there is apparently a new lead. Because on Thursday morning the police carried out excavations on private property near Uchtspringe - and found bones!

“Police found bones during their search which will now be sent to the coroner’s office for examination. “But it’s not a skeleton or a skull, but a few small bones, about two handfuls,” said senior public prosecutor Torsten Kramer from the Stendal public prosecutor’s office to BILD.

According to Kramer, the evaluation results are not expected until next week at the earliest. The first thing to check is whether the bones and bone remains are human or animal.

According to police information, the area on which the police were searching is a former military site.

The excavations began after a tip-off. At the beginning of December, lawyers and private detectives decided to support the family of the missing Inga and, as a private initiative, searched in the Uchtspringe area with four special dogs from Saarland."

Although i'm sufficiently realistic, that the small bones will belong to a kind of buried animal in the end, the recent discovery reminds me of the discoveries at Arade dam in the MM case, back in 2008....

I don't really understand it, but this isn't the first case on Websleuths where "multiple" dogs "hit" on the same area somewhere yet then no human bones are found there. Frustrating.

I do dearly hope Inga's case will be solved very soon.

This was posted today, but the news appears to be from last week:

Grabungen nach 8 Jahren – Polizei meldet überraschende Funde auf der Suche nach der kleinen Inga

Update from 15 December 2023: The new excavations may have paid off. They were completed yesterday afternoon. A few small bones were found, explained Thomas Kramer, spokesman for the public prosecutor's office in Stendal. Several were obviously from animals, and it was not certain if some of them were of human origin. However, no distinctive bones such as skulls or pelvises were found, Kramer said. The ball is now in the court of forensic medicine.

Understandable that it takes time, from the website - Start
(GT)

New: We were on the search on December 2nd, 2023 with the dogs from Victim Recovery Dogs eV. All four dogs responded. On December 14, 2023, police searched the area and apparently found some bone fragments. We are waiting for the evaluation.

You never know until you do of course, but this outcome is as expected. No big surprise. No closure for the family either.

So, CB's name keeps popping up:

MADDIE LINK: Is new hunt for missing Inga Gehricke linked to white van once leased by chief Madeleine McCann suspect Christian Brueckner? - Olive Press News Spain
-
22 Mar, 2024
"She never came back and the only evidence of her abduction was a scream reported by a local farmer and a witness who spotted a white van driving away down a narrow lane around the time.

This vehicle has never been identified, but today, it can be revealed, detectives might just be one step closer to solving the mystery.
German cops are making a request to impound a white van being driven by Maddie suspect Christian Brueckner at the time Inga vanished."

Yet he was said to have been ruled out.

Yet he was said to have been ruled out.

That's correct, but it now under investigation of a new LE - team:

"After complaints of corruption and failures to follow up leads the case was taken away from police in Stendal and handed to a new team in nearby Halle last year."

^Same link from Olive Press, but it's mentioned in this thread several times, that the Family of Inga wanted this, one of the family lawyers, had permission to look into her files, and stated that a lot of clues, tips weren't throughly followed up. ^

"More than nine years after the then five-year-old Inga disappeared, a pond in the Stendal district was searched. Nothing was found. There will be further searches of this kind for the missing girl in the future, the police said."

In the case of the missing Inga, the police combed through a pond near Wilhelmshof in the district of Stendal in the Altmark on Monday. As the responsible police station in Halle told MDR SACHSEN-ANHALT, they were looking for clues that could be connected to the girl who disappeared nine and a half years ago. The Volksstimme was the first to report on these new developments (€) .

Police search for missing Inga: Further search operations likely

Police divers searched the muddy pond for remains or pieces of clothing, but nothing was found, a spokeswoman said.
There was no specific reason for the search, they said. They were simply looking in places where no one had searched before. It is highly likely that there will be further searches in the extensive area..................

From your link:
"Most recently, in October, the police combed through a pond near Wilhelmshof and looked for clues, but found nothing. The investigators said there would most likely be further searches in the extensive area in the Stendal district."
SBM

According to the family lawyer, the tips that come in -" vary in quality from fortune teller and an "astral traveler" - people who claim to be able to explore spheres from other worlds "
Only seriues tips are being forwarded to LE investigation team.

Also the mysterious Lars Mittank is on the smoothie bottles - for the golden tip in both cases, there is a reward:
