A new reporting resource has been added to help people report anything they know about the disappearance of Maria Henselmann or Bernhad Haase.

http://www.infodetektei.de/aktuelle-fahndungen/

On 11.07.2013, the mother of missing 13-year old Maria Brigitte Henselmann gave the detective Weber eK-retired detective permission to publish the search display a public search on the website.

Hope you are doing OK Maria, and are well.

still no news. just hope that maria is ok and hopefully even feels happy. don't want to think about the alternative.

it is a bit frustrating to know that they have been and will be seen by hundreds of people who do not know that they are looking at wanted people. there should be a better way to get the pictures shown across countries.

in the future this problem will be solved with automatic recognition of missing persons via cameras but that may take some time still. ..and if only that was the only purpose our governments wanted to used them..

I think this is a private investigator, isn't it? I hope Maria's poor mom isn't having to spend her retirement savings - or Maria's college fund. Luckily, it is school summer vacation now. But Maria has still missed a lot of school time. Bernhard Haase not only took Maria; he is stealing her future too by keeping her away. What kind of career is she going to be able to have without an education?

She won't be able to rely on Haase for her entire life. He's an old man compared to Maria and will be dead long before she is. This child needs to be found.

Its in German with no captions - but the pictures are good to see.
I like their determination to find Maria.

The quote (translated) below is in regard to the 500 leads they have had since Maria went missing.
The Police are not releasing any details publicly...

Freiburg police spokesman Karl-Heinz Schmid said yesterday that the police may have an explanation for it, but did not speak publicly about it.

I hope they have something substantial to help in finding Maria soon.

Thinking of you Maria - where-ever you are, I hope you are well and safe.

There is a new push to try and find the missing car owned by Berhard Haase -
Have you seen this vehicle?

At least someone is still pushing for something.
Maria is not forgotten ......... ( like another little girl in europe who seems to
have been swept under the rug)

It's misguided, in my opinion. Police want the public to help find Maria, but don't want to give them any information. If authorities want to keep this case (and Maria's face) alive in people's minds, they have to give them something.

I also think releasing some more details about Haase would help make people more aware of the urgent need to bring him to justice too. He planned and worked to exploit this child for at least a year - It makes me wonder what he got up to in the past and what he might get up to in the future.

From the Find Maria FB page - There is a petition now on Change.org for Maria and for ACTION!!

Change.org

I hope it helps with the search for Maria and helps her family get answers - they are being left in the dark about the search and what is happening - I couldn't imagine anything worse.

Lets Help Bring Maria Home.

That would be great! Thankyou. From what I tried to decode from it, the family has little or no contact from authorities. Police are waiting for something to happen - things are on hold :scared:
WTF??!!!

They really need signatures on the petition though for something to be done :(

Oh dear. I linked it to someone for translation, then forgot to send the link. I'm doing that all the time now on my posts as well. It's on its way now.

I actually wish they had that info in English on the web as well as German. There are so many English and American tourists, and other English speakers here at the moment, and certainly English and American people seem to take much more interest in cases like these. I am just getting the impression police are not very seriously concerned, and the press are taking their cue from that.

I do hope I'm mistaken and they are working on something they are keeping secret.

Paraphrased translation, better late than never.

The article says Maria was 11 when they 'met' in an internet chat room! With a man 40 years older than herself.

It then goes on to say that although police say she went 'willingly', children under the age of 14 are protected under German law, because they are considered easily manipulated by adults. And that child psychologists and psychiatrists are unanimous that children cannot be said to have made a decision of their own free will under such circumstances.

It stresses that the strong suspicions of sexual abuse and child abduction are very serious charges and that Freiburg police saw no reason to put in place an Interpol manhunt, despite the possible danger to the 13-year-old child from this 53-year-old man. That they just sat and waited for three months.

It also accuses police of not keeping the mother informed and that she says she had to rely on the press for all her information.

The petition says none of this is acceptable and it seeks to ensure the rights of parents are enforced and demands Freiburg police call in the equivalent of the FBI and inform Maria's Mom of the status of the investigation. That the Freiburg LE and the FBI must work to protect Maria from harm, and get an Interpol manhunt underway.

It is very forthright and highly critical of the police. I don't think they will like this petition at all, but if Maria's Mom really has been given no information or support or updates, I don't see that they should be surprised.

It also says a SOKO must be established but I couldn't find out what that was.

Thank-you for the translation zwiebel !
I can understand that there must be so must frustration surrounding Maria's disappearance, but there have been no solid sightings reported, and the time is moving along into months now.

I don't think Maria would have let her mother and family suffer this long - no matter how voluntary the official label says the disappearance was. My concern (now) is that she doesn't know she is being looked for because she has no access to media and is somewhere out of reach. It maybe the reason she has not made contact. By now, she maybe considering trying to contact her mother - it's been a long time for her without her family. It would not be hard for an IT savy person like Haase to restrict contact. He would only need to be in an area that has no net reception to keep them both bound and both from being detected.

Maria needs to have people on the ground and out there searching for her.
She may not be able to get away - people might have to come to her.
But mostly there needs to be a hunt for Haase. He knows where she is.

It is realistic to think she has been isolated because people like Haase, isolate victims far from their friends and family - tell them lies - and manipulate the vulnerable emotional strength until they are reliant on the person and believe whatever they say. Especially at 13 y.o.

I would pray that there is no news because there is something much bigger going on behind the scenes to bring Maria back. I can only pray for her safe return, and for it to be soon.

Thinking of you Maria.

Nice post, FigTree.

I'm almost ashamed to show my face here at the moment, being English. A case in England, of a 41-year-old abusing and making pornographic films with a 13-year old, has just been given a five-month suspended sentence.

Not only that, the prosecutor called the young victim predatory!!
http://www.theguardian.com/law/2013/aug/06/paedophile-suspended-sentence-review

I am beginning to think we have a Europe-wide problem with attitudes here, and we need a Europe-wide solution. That poor, nameless victim. Poor Maria. Something must be done to protect these children from these awful, adult men.
