Hello,
My sincerest apologies if this is the incorrect forum, I couldn't find an area for animal murders.
Over the last few years (approx. circa 2020), recorded incidents of 'poison bait' (or 'Giftköder' in German) and other dangerous baits appear to be increasing in Berlin, according to testimonials submitted to dog community groups such as Dogorama and RedBowDogBerlin, as well as in mainstream media. Dog treats with razor blades lodged in them, sausages with razor blades in them, dog food with needles in it, foodstuffs with poison, etc. are being left in the streets and in dog parks. Dog victims die painful deaths, for example, by "severe internal bleeding" if they ingest a blade.
Berlin dog owners and other residents who fear for their pets, but also for children, the homeless and street cleaners who are more exposed to the risks the 'baits' pose are holding a demonstration in the German capital on 19 February 2022.
The Berlin #KeepOurDogsSafe community is looking for non-financial support (e.g. tips) to help bring the perpetrator(s) to justice.
