'Ghost yacht' found off Australia

Hmmm, Buzz this sounds like a personal fantasy of yours I think:innocent:

I think I have finally figured this out.........................

A canoe full of naked amazon-type women pulled up alongside, and told the men they could come with them to their legendary mythical island, and be treated like kings, but only if the men left all of their worldly possessions behind...........

Adios Luv.

Oh Utopia, I doubt that! Buzz would not be himself if he couldn't walk into the Costco storage back room in his house every day :D He'd probably fly them all to Calli to enjoy their company. LOLOLOLOL

I knew who narla was referring to; I use the same acronym, and use acronyms for almost everyone.

So do I. It works out well, most of the time...

I do remember having to explain to Nova that IM stood for IdahoMom, while IM, on the other hand, stands for IrishMist.

Silly Nova, he thought it was confusing! :loser:

One would almost think they could identify to whom you are responding, by their post being quoted by yours, but apparently not.

Well, you would think. But you know how it gets around here sometimes... we were all kind of running with it, and maybe, just maybe getting a little silly with it all.

I mean, I wasn't, but the other posters were.

I completely understand IM; whilst we can't become guilty just by association, we have to tread very lightly whilst posting on WS, lest others mistake our meaning, and get half-cocked.

Back to the three older blokes missing from the KAZ II. We need a new piece of information. A plot of the GPS history data for April 15th through April 20th. I am surprised their aren't various plausible theories being floated among the Aussie seafaring community. They said there wasn't any piracy going on in that area, but?? Storms have been pretty much ruled out.

Search for lost Kaz II crew to focus on islands
Relatives convinced yachties alive

BRISBANE - The search for three sailors missing off the north Queensland coast will continue this weekend, focusing this time on islands in the area. Twenty-five members from the Proserpine State Emergency Service (SES) unit have offered to spend the weekend searching Gloucester Island near Airlie Beach and Point George near Bowen. The volunteers will use flat-bottomed floodboats and walk along beaches in their search.

There has been no sign of skipper Derek Batten and brothers Peter and James Tunstead, all from Perth, since their catamaran Kaz II was found adrift off Townsville last week. Emergency service crews found the engine running, computers turned on, food on the table and the GPS system operating but no sign of the boat's crew.

Authorities spent several days searching surrounding waters, and family members of the missing trio have spent the last week using chartered boats to search islands. James Tunstead's son Shane Webber said he was grateful for the support of the SES this weekend, but that he was unsure whether the search would prove fruitful.

"The SES are going to put some people on land and search around Point George, Gloucester Island and a few of the islands around that area where the last radio transmission was," he told ABC Radio. "They are fairly well vegetated and mountainous as well. So I don't know how the foot search is going to go."

I thought there was a storm but they were okay and that's what the phone call was about - is that right?

The winds were up to about 30 knots on Sunday, but had died off by the time they radioed in at 6:45PM. The phone call to one of the sons was in the morning about 30 minutes after they left port in Airlie Beach.

This has everyone intrigued, hope they can find out what really happened. Looking into the financial and personal backgrounds of the three men to rule out insurance fraud. Nothing adds up. :waitasec:
