I think that whether or not she is credible is of less concern to John Ray than getting the opportunity to go public with his theory. If she is what he needed in order to safely point fingers, then that would be an example of the "dramatics" he's been called out for. She may not be credible! Who knows? But John Ray knows what he's doing. And he has been able to consistently keep this case in the media, which I give him credit for...even if (IF) he is somewhat Machiavellian in his strategies.

John Ray's newest claim is that Hackett and Burke "worked together recovering body parts" on the 1996 TWA flight tragedy (again, Ray offers zero evidence of this). After hearing this, the only question I have is this: If Hackett and Burke have worked together to kill women for years.... why --- if Ray has all this purported evidence against Hackett --- why, why, why didn't Hackett settle out of court years ago?

Hackett didn't settle the civil suit and it hasn't gone to trial -- despite all the "evidence" Ray has. This should tell us something.

If Hackett was connected to James Burke in the killing of these women, you know what Burke would have demanded that Hackett do back in 2011? SETTLE! That's just obvious. Settle the case out-of-court quietly and seal the deal with confidentiality clauses and threats of counter-suits -- that's how it's done. Shannan’s case would have faded away long ago.

So, nope, not buying it that there's any current connection between Hackett and Burke. John Ray needed a more villainous antagonist to enter his piece of fiction -- IMO he's been exploiting Shannan's case for 5 years in order to draw in clients who have the means to pay for his services. But usually in a civil case if the Judge feels there is irrefutable proof of wrongdoing, he/she suggests settling outside the court system. Settling saves time, court resources, and probable embarrassment. So there is a reason Hacket is not settling. I've thought about B. Anderson's "what Hackett told me he did". Hackett appears to be on quite a few medications. Does an amputated limb give a person chronic pain for life? Pain killers often cause someone to hallucinate or spew word salad ramblings. Also, Ray has never given the context in which Anderson heard Hackett say these words. Was it a personal conversation between the 2 of them? Did Anderson walk up mid-conversation with Hackett talking to others? Was Hackett talking to himself and B.A. overheard?

Mari died this past July -- so that excuse by Ray for the delay doesn't add up to the 4.5 years that made his case become "stale bread". If he's waiting for the 911 tape to be released because he believes it is key to his case and he doesn't even know what is on the tape, how does he know he has a case?

Given that Dr. Hackett resides in his own private reality I have no trouble believing that something like this is the source of the confusion.

Here are excerpts I transcribed from John Ray's press conference in December featuring escort "Leanne".

Leanne to reporter: “You asked me about the tip. The tip was in regards to someone who lives on Oak Beach full-time and was good friends with Jimmy Brewer (John Ray corrects her)... I mean Jimmy Burke, sorry, whose number was found in Jimmy Burke's phone. That was his admission to me -- the person I called a tip in on. So, I mean, it just kinda like makes you wonder why Detective Pertola would tell this person I called in a tip. I was the source of the tip."

"The person whom I called in the tip on had been questioned before on the homicide... This person is related to judges, councilmen, politicians".

"He fit the profile. You know, Oak beach, boating, access to certain things, uh, age, travel. The break in murders between 1996, 2003, and 2009 (?). He was a family man and he had police knowledge."

“The exact words between Pertola and I were: Before we hang up can you just tell me his name so I can check to see if it's in the database. So I gave him his name and he said, 'I don't even need to check -- we've gotten 2 calls on him already from police domestic(?) from women -- young women, young prostitutes. So I don't even need to check.' ”

About the guy she called in a tip on, Leanne said, "it would be better if he heard from me... if they were calling me".

According to Leanne this guy has "a little bit of authority over me so it made the situation difficult".

Later a reporter asks about the person Leanne called the tip on that “has some authority over her” and she hesitates to answer and then John Ray answers, “We can’t expose this person at this stage and it’s not going to advance [inaudible]. It’s collateral.”

This statement by Leanne appears to come after the press conference (it is unclear who "these two men" are):
“I came forward because of a tip I had called in to Suffolk County regarding someone that was neither of these two men but does know one of them, Jimmy Burke, quite well. He thinks Jimmy Burke's a great guy, by the way. His phone number was found in Jim Burke's phone when he was arrested."

Be patient my friend. Not even I believe it is fair to out this guy at this point. But I would have no problem considering him to be a viable suspect. One thing I believe for certain is if this is the killer then Tom Spota will NEVER prosecute this guy no matter how many people he killed.

Any thoughts on whether it was burke or his attorney that made the decision to respond to leanns claims, right after they were made last week? The initial response was that the claims werent worthy of a response and then it was flat out denial from his attny. After following this case for awhile now and being informed of the players.. "thanks to hawkshaw and many other justice seekers here" i was wondering whether burke is still ultimately calling the shots as to what statements his attny makes now that hes under the microscope. his denial response, hours after leanns press conference is suspect because if leanns claims are really so bogus, then why respond at all.

How could JB watch that news conference and then deny it. That denial came directly from his attorney and it can't be the lawyer quoting from his client. Pure BS IMHO. JB doesn't have access anymore...

James Burke's TV access is limited. JB & his lawyer most likely have phone or person to person contact. What I was trying to say is JB could not have had such a quick response through his lawyer regarding the Press Conference. Between the news conference and the lawyer's denial's wouldn't leave time between JB & his lawyer to put out such a statement. That had to be all on the lawyer's part to make such a statement. It's not like JB has a phone in his CELL. :jail:

AND I can prove it to you if I wanted to expose people that I would not expose because a lot of people have already been hurt by this monster.
