I think they also shared 5th Avenue. Epstein lived on 5th Avenue and Heuermann worked on 5th Avenue.it reminded me of epstein’s weird art as well, but with all due respect the idea of a grand conspiracy featuring rex & epstein is ridiculous lmao. the only things they seem to have in common is that they’re psychopathic pedos with a bizarre collection of art.
I also haven't heard yet that body parts are missing from those four, though the police said they are searching for some. It could be that they're trying to link him to others in which parts were taken. Aside from body parts, trophies can take many forms...jewelry, photos, locks of hair, clothing and so on. The Police Commissioner emphasized that the primary reason for taking him into custody right away was the risk of a leak. Although members of a Grand Jury are sworn to secrecy, some have been known in the past to tell others including family members, friends or the press. With the weapon stash he had, they were smart to move quickly to prevent a possible bloodbath at his house.I haven’t posted here in years but I’ve been really interested in what you all have to say, this place is an amazing network of information and people bouncing incredible insight and thoughts around.
Just a couple of things on my mind. First, I believe it has been said that the investigators decided to take him into custody on Thursday evening because they thought he may become active again or flee. Is it possible his wife was getting ready to go out of town (or even the country) again very soon and they knew this information? I would think since covid started, maybe she hadn’t traveled much, if at all, the last few years and was finally getting ready for a trip.
Also, I have firmly believed from the beginning that the case in AC is related. Now I feel even stronger about it. Just because it wasn’t in the search history that was made public doesn’t mean it didn’t exist. I think this investigation team is being super tight-lipped about a lot of stuff, for good reason. If he spent money on a Vegas time share, I bet he frequented AC somewhat often and liked to gamble.
One more thing I’d like to add, and please forgive me if this is really out of left field. Has it ever been publicly stated how the 4 girls in Gilgo Beach were murdered or if their bodies were fully intact? I only ask because I read that investigators were looking for “body parts” or trophies of victims. I wonder if they were missing something small like a finger or a toe that he could gruesomely preserve and hide away.
A cat tree was removed from the house on Saturday, so if they didn't know at first they definitely knew when they removed that cat tree. That is true, but at the same time, if the house is really as bad as a "packrat" (as has been stated in the media), it is very possible a cat could go unnoticed by LE. Cats are excellent at hiding, especially when scared, so IMO it's very possible they didn't even know there was a cat still in the house until days after the search began.
ETA: I worked at a no-kill cat rescue for 2 years which frequently was called in to rescue cats from hoarder/packrat homes (typically after their owner died) and it was not at all uncommon for it to take days to trap a cat in those situations.
I grew up on Long Island in Valley Stream and lived in Rockville Centre (also on L.I.) for a number of years. Ocean Parkway stretches along one or more "barrier islands and is one route that you can take to Jones Beach. It can be reached from the Meadowbrook Parkway, Wantagh Parkway and from driving through Long Beach. One would have to drive past Jones Beach State Park to get to Gilgo Beach - then on to Captree Beach, Robert Moses State Park and Fire Island. I have driven that route at night and it can seem very desolate. Click here for a map“Rex Heuermann was a seasonal employee at Jones Beach State Park in [the] summer of 1981 and from 3/05/82 through 10/24/84,” the department said in a statement.

Jones Beach is near Gilgo Beach. Maybe a local can tell us some more info about the beaches.
Epstein lived in one of the toniest neighborhood's in Manhattan. Heuermann worked in midtown - yes, on 5th Ave, but a completely different neighborhood and vibe from Epstein's Upper East Side home.I think they also shared 5th Avenue. Epstein lived on 5th Avenue and Heuermann worked on 5th Avenue.

My father was a seasonal employee (50 or so years ago) at Jones Beach and worked in the Jones Beach Police Barracks. Other jobs may be an attendant at the beach or in the concession stands... maybe even a maintenance worker. The beaches are one after another on Ocean Parkway with grassland, bush and sand dunes between them. They are some of the finest beaches in the world and are very well maintained. During the day in the summer, there are hundreds of thousands of people who go to the beaches along Ocean Parkway - on weekends, some of the beaches at Jones Beach State Park will be full and closed to visitors by 11 am. At night in the summer, traffic is considerably less and only the people who live year-round in the beach communities frequent Ocean Parkway at night during the late fall and winter months.
I hope it isn't against advertiser guidelines to bring this up, but have you seen Mindhunter? It's a show "based on the 1995 true-crime book Mindhunter: Inside the FBI's Elite Serial Crime Unit by John E. Douglas and Mark Olshaker" chronicling the creation of the FBI's SK profiler unit. (Cameron Britton's turn as Edward Kemper is beyond amazing.)I think we as a society are just beginning to understand the mind of a SK
RH liked to be in groups….
The simple and sad answer is that he (and other men like this) just hate women. They see us as objects for their pleasure - whatever that looks like to them - and they don't see us as complex human beings. The fact that he targeted sex workers also makes me think he thought poorly of them and maybe saw them as less of a "loss" because of their line of work. Its extremely depressing. These are likely complicated questions but... what makes a human a sexual sadist? Is this a nature/nurture type of quandary... or is there clear and distinct evidence of how monsters like this come to be? I mean, BDSM is one thing... but RH (and the like) are completely another. imo.

ETA: anybody capable of these crimes also is likely to be a psychopath and just completely lack empathy, especially for those outside their families.
Yes I agree. And I am split on various images and whether or not it is the suspect’s hair or possibly a toupee or hair wig. If the latter, possibly multiple different ones?
And that uncertainty led to these thoughts. Aren’t some hair wigs made from synthetic or artificial fiber? Others, perhaps from natural hair? I am not sure, but perhaps depending on which they might find trace evidence consistent with his hair. Although current published reports seem to indicate they are not really finding his hair? This also led me to wonder and ask the question: aren’t some wigs made of natural hair donated by others? MOO
Bingo. Lots of moms in the 50s sent their kids out to play and weren't necessarily aware of what they were doing outside alone or with friends.
