Wow! Good sleuthing!
Just like other addicts that can't cut ties with things like drugs or alcohol or gambling that they know are damning, the Avalanche represents that for Rex Andrew Heuermann and I'm sure there's more. More mementos from the victims, more clusters of burial sites (his trophy cases), more evil incarnate.
This is so interesting, as we keep hearing more. Not actually the mild-mannered family man who kept to himself after all. It just goes to show how much we are encouraged to put up with bullies and scary people in everyday life and just go along to get along. And there are so few outlets for people to talk about the weirdo on a date when you might have been looking for a sub-legal paid gig, or the neighbor who leers at your sunbathing spouse, or the guy who steals fruit intended for children at the store where you work and then has a tantrum when confronted. And even if a person does speak up, what then? Most of this stuff fell short of an actual crime. Stalking a cop might be a chargeable offense, but as someone who works in DV professionally, you should see how difficult it is to get someone charged with stalking or even a protective order. Especially a litigious white man. Being the creepy neighbor that everyone thinks might have bodies buried in the yard is technically just gossip. Nothing anyone can do.
IMHO, it could be one of the two.Gilgo Beach serial killer suspect Rex Heuermann had just one chilling question for jail officials following his arrest last week, it has been revealed.
As the 59-year-old married father-of-two was processed into Suffolk County Jail on a string of murder charges, sources told CNN he was curious about his newfound notoriety.
“Is it in the news?” he asked.

Gilgo Beach serial killer suspect had one chilling question after his arrest
Court documents have revealed that over the last year between March 2022 and June 2023, Heuermann repeatedly looked online for updates in the investigation – and details about the task force hunting himwww.independent.co.uk
Some news outlets are reporting that she was an "escort" so she may not have wanted to turn down the client, but at the dinner regretted it. In any event, it's good that she didn't leave with him.I was wondering if she meant "date" rather than a date date .. as in she was in a similar line of work as his other victims.. (or something adjacent like a sugar-daddy thing?) I agree though, if not that it doesn't sound super believable.
Same and it’s so nice to see the return of all these OG usernames for this case.I'm always super IMPRESSED with you guys sleuthing skills!
Me too but I cant fiGure out the narritive . No one born after 1978 says food stamps, and Well, WTF.
Does it sound like he was seasonal during this time period? Or was he working year round during that time period? I lean towards the latterand from 3/05/82 through 10/24/84,”
Meanwhile, the state Parks Department told The Post on Monday that Heuermann once worked at Jones Beach in Nassau County, LI.Rex Heuermann was a seasonal employee at Jones Beach State Park in [the] summer of 1981 and from 3/05/82 through 10/24/84,”

Just a weird intuitive thing, but something about her story reminds me of the man who claimed to have had an affair with Chris Watts. Just like trying really hard to tie themselves to this huge story. I apologize in advance if I'm wrong and this lady is telling the truth--but like, what unidentified victim was shortly thereafter identified? It just doesn't line up with the facts. Maybe she did have an engagement with him, got creeped, left before, ahem, "dessert" and is now embellishing the part about him talking about the crimes to get the media to care. There must be dozens or even hundreds of NY area escorts who have met with RH over the last two decades or longer. Some news outlets are reporting that she was an "escort" so she may not have wanted to turn down the client, but at the dinner regretted it. I do have my doubts about some of her statements. If they are true, I am sure that the LISK task force will want to speak to her.
Also in agreement! And, given that he taunted family members with phone calls, he likes to extend the experience. He doesn't act in spurts when the urge strikes, imo, but sort of continually. He might not be murdering continually, but he's doing some crap all the time and then surrounding himself with it, living with it daily as his way of life.
The officers in charge of inventory and database for this case have a big job!

Long time lurker and Long Islander on this forum. I have read hundreds if not thousands of pages about this case. I think of all the Long Islanders on here I live the closest to where the bodies were found.Quoting from the argument on the train story: "While he was legally registered to own 92 guns, police found over 200 firearms and other weapons in the small house."
I don't know anything about New York law. Could someone tell us if that means the 108 unregistered guns are illegal or could they be legal because he's owned them longer than the registration law has been on the books?
He wouldve been 17 maybe 18 at mostHe would have been very young
Will be very interesting when the digital evidence is released, there's no way he's not been trolling/participating in online chats about LISK.

I don't think they proved or disproved. I don't think anyone in LE or media particularly took him seriously enough to bother. I will eat my hat if it was true, though.Did they ever proof or disprove Chris Watt's affair with the guy? Because I wouldn't be shocked if it was true. His gf was a real piece of work.
Certainly a possibility.
The older Jeeps look similar.
