and from 3/05/82 through 10/24/84,”
Does it sound like he was seasonal during this time period? Or was he working year round during that time period? I lean towards the latter

Rex Heuermann was a seasonal employee at Jones Beach State Park in [the] summer of 1981 and from 3/05/82 through 10/24/84,”

Meanwhile, the state Parks Department told The Post on Monday that Heuermann once worked at Jones Beach in Nassau County, LI.

“Rex Heuermann was a seasonal employee at Jones Beach State Park in [the] summer of 1981 and from 3/05/82 through 10/24/84,” the department said in a statement. “We have no further comment.”
^ This is interesting. 1982-1984. He would have been very young. But, why, specifically Jones Beach?

Will be very interesting when the digital evidence is released, there's no way he's not been trolling/participating in online chats about LISK.

Some news outlets are reporting that she was an "escort" so she may not have wanted to turn down the client, but at the dinner regretted it. In any event, it's good that she didn't leave with him.

I do have my doubts about some of her statements. If they are true, I am sure that the LISK task force will want to speak to her.
Just a weird intuitive thing, but something about her story reminds me of the man who claimed to have had an affair with Chris Watts. Just like trying really hard to tie themselves to this huge story. I apologize in advance if I'm wrong and this lady is telling the truth--but like, what unidentified victim was shortly thereafter identified? It just doesn't line up with the facts. Maybe she did have an engagement with him, got creeped, left before, ahem, "dessert" and is now embellishing the part about him talking about the crimes to get the media to care. There must be dozens or even hundreds of NY area escorts who have met with RH over the last two decades or longer.

Also in agreement! And, given that he taunted family members with phone calls, he likes to extend the experience. He doesn't act in spurts when the urge strikes, imo, but sort of continually. He might not be murdering continually, but he's doing some crap all the time and then surrounding himself with it, living with it daily as his way of life.

The officers in charge of inventory and database for this case have a big job!

I'm wondering if some of the girls survived because they were submissive just to survive and were very careful not to upset him?
A Malignant narcissist would hate anyone not doing exactly as told or even questioning him. Maybe the ones that did die fought back, or argued with him (I'm not blaming them) but it caused him to fly into a narcissistic rage. In his mind caused him to kill them?
I bet several young women have stories to tell about him.

Quoting from the argument on the train story: "While he was legally registered to own 92 guns, police found over 200 firearms and other weapons in the small house."

I don't know anything about New York law. Could someone tell us if that means the 108 unregistered guns are illegal or could they be legal because he's owned them longer than the registration law has been on the books?
Long time lurker and Long Islander on this forum. I have read hundreds if not thousands of pages about this case. I think of all the Long Islanders on here I live the closest to where the bodies were found.
NY law is you need to register pistols but not rifles or shotguns. So this is a little misleading. Looks like he has 92 registered pistols and 100 to 200 rifles and shotguns.

I assume he read this form often.

Did they ever proof or disprove Chris Watt's affair with the guy? Because I wouldn't be shocked if it was true. His gf was a real piece of work.

I am wondering if his brother had any idea that the old Avalanche could contain any evidence of anything or if RH just said "hey, I'm going to get a new truck- want a good deal on my old one?"
Would really be something if he got $ for it.

I don't think they proved or disproved. I don't think anyone in LE or media particularly took him seriously enough to bother. I will eat my hat if it was true, though.

I'm curious why you think it might be true, though! I just thought it was way too sensational and contrived-sounding. I'm always interested to hear other points of view.

Certainly a possibility.
The older Jeeps look similar.

The neighbor who lives behind their house said that it was an older Jeep and that RH was fixing it up, had it on blocks in his driveway. The neighbor didn't say if it was recent or some time ago that it was on blocks.

(Note: It was the neighbor, Etienne, who spoke about RH looking over the fence when they first moved into their house while his wife would sunbathe in the back yard. He has been giving lots of on air intervies this week, and mentioned the Jeep.)

He wouldve been 17 maybe 18 at most
So, this tells us he would have had more familiarity with the area than the average person.
A place where he felt comfortable?

Looking back on some of the details - Melissa Barthelemy checked her voicemail approx July 9 2009 from a Best Western in Massapequa and then from a Budget Inn in Massepequa. The Best Western was only .6 mi from Heuermann's home. The Budget Inn was 1.3 mi.
Does anyone know why two motels? Why would she have moved?

fellas a loon, to deliberately seek a stranger out after a minor incident is bizarre

I wonder if these were signs that he was decompensating psychologically & the reason why LE arrested him when they did. There's also the disturbing incident at a Long Island park a couple of weeks before the arrest:

Disturbing Encounter with Gilgo Beach Murder Suspect Reported by Young Long Island Woman

The incident at the park has already been mentioned on threads 1 & 2, probably this one as well.

I was wondering if she meant "date" rather than a date date .. as in she was in a similar line of work as his other victims.. (or something adjacent like a sugar-daddy thing?) I agree though, if not that it doesn't sound super believable.

I'm still catching up, so this has probably already been posted, but from more recent reporting it does appear that is the case.

We know he relied on his size to intimidate but having the gall to ambush a stranger when it's fairly common for a lot of us in the city to have some sort of self defense item at the ready. It makes me wonder if he had a conceal and carry permit. He sure was brazen. And dumb.
I wonder if, since he has been under surveillance, he was somehow starting to feel "watched" and he was getting nervous. Not sure what might have tipped him off, but maybe there was something he noticed.

He was an odd guy. I could see him hooking up with all kinds of people from online apps etc.

Do we know when the first piece of property in SC was purchased?
