were these people sex workers?
Unfortunately I wasn't able to find any additional information beyond what I included in my original post, so I'm not sure. But FWIW the photo for Vanessa Zambrano appears to be a mugshot.

ETA: I believe Victoria Camara was involved in sex work at the time of her murder, but LVMPD does not mention it.

"They were sex workers, and they were disappeared," he said. "And they were found out in the desert."
The women disappeared between 2003 and 2006. Property records obtained by the Turn to Tara team show Heuermann bought a time share in Las Vegas in 2004 at Wyndham Vacation Resorts. He later sold it for $51,000 in 2013. Public documents also show he still owns another time share at Club Soleil, a few miles off the strip. That was purchased on April 23, 2005.

Phil Ramos is a three-decade veteran of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. Ramos says Heuermann is being investigated for "possible ties" to a string of unsolved murders that he investigated as a cold case detective until his retirement two months ago.
"I can just say that they're similar circumstances between these three murder victims," Ramos told News 12.

Yes, probably Route 70 East and West.

ETA: There is another major highway Route 80. I added this because I'm not sure where LV is located in Nevada, more North or more South. I think it's more Route 70 because I hear often how people from LA drive over to LV in a few hours. Route 80 is more North in San Francisco.

But would he drive over 2,500 miles for 38 hours or fly out for 5 hours? Maybe, if you wanted to see areas of the country you'd never seen before.

80 goes thru Reno. Vegas is very much south of Reno.
Nevada has legalized prostitution, but not in every county.
I used to work as a blackjack dealer at
Harrah’s. My joke was every vice was extremely accessible …gambling, cigarettes, alcohol, cocaine, prostitution….there are a lot of working girls at casinos…and dealers, and cocktail waitresses, and showgirls….mostly all young and pretty.

This video is very upsetting and I don’t understand why the press is there. The wife yells at them (and rightly so). They need to leave her alone.

Wow! I wonder if that news crew paid the neighbor living beside them to use their lawn to film them. It looks like his wife is moving through the stages of grief from denial to anger. I wasn’t expecting to see that kind of reaction from her.

There are photos of the step son crying. That really upset me.

Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney said authorities have gathered a lot of evidence after a two-week-long search at the home of Rex Heuermann, the suspect in the Gilgo Beach murders. Tierney also said dogs located a number of electronic devices at the residence.

It almost seems like they’re in prison being watched like that and they have no escape. I wondered why they weren’t in the back yard if they knew the camera crew was in the front, but perhaps there was another crew encroaching at the back. The inside of the house must be a shambles too. Do the police tidy things up after going through everything? Do they put the soil back in the holes? And why was that detective leading them inside their own home? Those pics and video brought up so many questions.

I, too, was wondering why they were in the front. I assume the house was left in shambles. The yard was filled back in but looks nothing like the yard they left two weeks ago. I would guess there is so much confusion, anger, sadness and trauma.

I cannot even begin to fathom the emotions they are going through….it had to be so bittersweet for them to go back to that home.

I did not linger on the photos of them…it feels like such an invasion of their privacy and I wish the media would leave them alone. With all the police down there to ensure privacy, it amazes me that they still get such clear, close up shots. I am absolutely heartbroken for Asa and the children. It’s so unfair to them.
One thing that I noticed in the video of them returning home is that Asa did not use the walking cane she'd been seen using previously. I wonder if living without Rex, knowing he's safely behind bars forever, is a relief to her body in that a long-term burden has been lifted. If so, more power to her!

As the partner of someone who uses a cane and sometimes a wheelchair in public, it's very rare for her to use either at or around our home. Of course, all disabled people are different, but I don't see anything strange or implying change in her disability because she was using a cane in a public place when visiting her lawyer and not when at her home.

MOO

Do you all think he just stopped or moved to other areas? I am wondering if he didn't venture away from LI because of his comfort level. He may be one that doesn't do well with change, hence buying his family home, keeping the car for decades, same job for decades, etc...
It is interesting to watch sleuths develop the different locations for possible further SK by RH. It doesn't seem likely that Gilgo Bach would be his only burial grounds. It will prove to be a fascinating study and I'm here for it.

I imagine being a serial killer would be exhausting work in order to satisfy the nasty, demonic desires and, especially, to not get caught and thrown into the slammer. The planning and scheming required was time consuming. He likely reveled in the evil scheming. Making the scary taunting phone calls was tantalizing. Selecting the victims became easier. There may be a pattern that leads to many Killing Seasons, if you will, whereby vacations are needed for a respite and recovery period. Hiding it from the rest of the family was paramount but stressful. The fear of watching one's back every day would become nerve wracking to the best of us. His life was filled with demonic deeds. I hope each and every one is uncovered.
