IMO Even though it is a fairly desolate location, it was still easy for him to be spotted by someone walking a dog or taking a jog. Behind the motel and across the street from that area is a residential neighborhood. I don't know if he'd have taken that risk. But otoh I don't know how these women did business, if they were on the streets, in a bar, or operating online, that might make a difference. I personally don't think he's connected now.

in my mind it's wide open still.

I can understand that kind of a tactic if a suspect is at large but not when they're locked up and lE has seized all they have.. there is nothing he can do to hide evidence while locked up, he's not exactly mr popular.

RE LE I just keep getting that awful sinking feeling..
'is this it?'
'is this all?'
what about the others? Gone so long... no apparent progress..

Personally, I have never felt like LISK and eastbound were the same murderers.

But if they are, don't forget that the SC search warrant mentioned conspiracy to commit the crimes he allegedly committed, which means: another suspect or suspects.

So in that sense, the strategy could be effective.

(Here's hoping the co conspirator is feeling the pressure to expose themself/themselves without hurting others asap.)

Long Island Serial Killer Suspect Is Refusing Jail Visits From ‘Fans’ of Case

The Suffolk County sheriff says Rex Heuermann has only accepted visits from two people: his attorney and a 'person known to him'

Come clean! Who was it that tried to visit him? JK JK

I guess he has standards. Ha!

Ever since listening to the Harvard Lawyer Lee dissect the SC search warrant, I too have been on the edge of my seat waiting for more information to come out with respect to this "co-conspirator".

Could also mean he filmed his activities and sold his handiwork on dark web where it fetches a very large amount of money..

Sorry, wrote in your box again..

also could be a motive..

might be an interesting exercise to run his financials along a graph of dead or missing girls and check whether his finances took intermittent leaps for no apparent reason..

we cannot get our mitts on those though.

Money could well be what motivated him.
He also liked it.

I'd be searching dark web going back years..

Good catch on the search warrants Re: Conspiracy. That word definitely indicates more than one person had an intent to commit a crime. Wow!

The LISK: Long Island Serial Killer podcast has had several new episodes this week, including interviews with the creators of The Killing season. There are no big bombshells, although they did mention again the hope that Peaches will be ID’d soon. Overall it’s just interesting listening to people who have worked heavily with the facts of the case discuss their speculations and how their opinions have changed over time (on questions like “one murderer or more than one?”).

At this point why would they be withholding the victims names? If RH murdered them, he probably doesn't even know their names, or at least it's not likely IMO, so how would he give up the names to bargain with LE?

I think the usual reason is to make sure they’ve made every effort to locate and notify surviving family.

Yes, but the question is a conspiracy to commit what particular crime ? I have zero legal training, but just reading this document from a layman's point of view, the language seems incredibly unclear to me. I don't know if that's because LE was trying to cover every possible scenario of what they might discover during a search warrant, or if they had something particular in mind. The search warrant was for the truck if I'm not mistaken, and the truck was in possession of RH's brother, so it's possible that LE was simply covering their bases should they come to discover that the brother took possession of the truck with the clear knowledge that he was attempting to conceal evidence of a crime.

OR...I could just be dumb as a rock, which is far more likely. LOL .

I suspect he knows their names. It's only a theory but:

The task force tracked down the identidy of Karen Vergata while hot and heavy on Rex's trail.

They found that he obsessively looked up the victims whose murders he was charged on.

They undoubtedly did not give all of his internet habits, just those relevant to argue for his incarceration without bond.

Once secured in jail, the Karen news is finally released. They knew for months!

For that reason I speculate they ID Karen while investigating Rex, and they thought ID her publicly, while he didn't know he was being investigated, could tip him off that he was being investigated.

I think Rex's searches helped them ID her.

If my theory is true, he knows names of other victims. And Karen is one of them.

Could be Craig for that reason. We just don't know.
