She obviously readied herself for her star appearance- fresh outfit and more coifed hair than she’s been seen wearing, over the past four months. Either she’s there for him or to see what the defense has…
or she's there because there's money in it.

I hope this is the case, and Macedonio doesn't take too much of that pie. I honestly do not think he has her or her childrens' best interests at heart. MOO
I would agree that Macedonio does not have his clients best interest in mind.
I would also suggest that the network people cozying up to Asa ( the network woman with the channel purse next to Asa in the pictures of Asa headed in to court) also do not have any thought of her family’s well being or hers.
These people are not who Mr Roger’s had in mind when he told us all to “ look for the helpers”.
Asa seems to be awkward socially and certainly not worldly. The difference between Asa’s sister and Asa was telling imo. She seems very trusting and simple - vulnerable to manipulation. Hence Rex.
By doing this documentary and these court appearances ( I feel like they were of course the networks idea) she is opening a door to a very unkind world. I don’t think she has any idea of what’s ahead and the utter chaos she is creating for herself and her family. The very same type of “s - storm” she found herself in when they arrested Rex and searched the house. And apparently no one with common sense is looking out after her.
On the other hand if her court appearances and the documentary attract more media coverage, that keeps the spotlight on the case and the many victims which is a good thing.

I agree she is opening a door to an unkind world by the choices she continues to make, but i disagree she is vulnerable or trusting. I think she knows exactly what she's doing. MOO.

Asa's attorney's office is now denying claims about the film crew, which I am not buying into because the film crew was identified as being from the Peacock Network. I call BS

Ginenne Pugliese, an associate at the office of Ellerup's attorney Bob Macedonio, said there was "no comment" to those statements by Brown. Pugliese said that although there was a media stir when Ellerup arrived, it was not a film crew recording her. "It was me," she said. "I was told to document" what transpired.

Presumably, her disabled son gets SSI and or SSD and SNAP. it takes some of the sting off supporting him.

moo
The adult, healthy daughter attended college and worked. She doesn’t have to be supported. The victims’ families have struggled and forged on.

Asa arrived via a Mercedes Benz.

The children should have access to special counseling and emotional support for the psych trauma they're having to deal with now and during the next few years. BTK's daughter has spoken and written very well about the trauma she endured in the years after her father's arrest. It all probably came as a total shock to the daughter and son and I hope they get the help they need in coping with the stress and carrying on with their lives.

The support issue, I believe, is the care he may need (and not $). It’s possible that he cannot be left alone, and cannot care for himself. He may need 24/7 and may not tolerate strangers helping (in- home care expensive and doubt having stranger in house right now would be wise). It’s likely Asa is a full time carer for her son, (which is why she is taking him to shops with his food stamps) daughter may be giving mother & brother support. We just don’t know. But do know being full time 24/7 carer is a difficult job.

Nothing convinced me of this more than reading that the house transfer and divorce were initiated THE same day.

Some conwinky-dink.

MOO
Sorry catching up. Where is this transfer and from who to who? How can they still be a committed couple???

Imo I don’t get the sense that she has any idea of what lies ahead but you could well be correct. All will unfold in time and become clear.

If she doesn't know what lies ahead, she has a lot of people, including her attorney, who is there to explain that to her.

Yes. If only they all had her best interests in mind ! I don’t think they do. And I don’t sense she understands that. I think she thinks they are her “friends”.
As mentioned - she seems to have led a very simple maybe even reclusive/sheltered life. I see no sophistication and not a lot of self awareness.
But we will see as it all unfolds. I have been wrong before !

I agree. The family needs to participate in counseling.

Has anyone noticed that AE is no longer walking around with a cane, like she was in the beginning? What was that about?

All of these recent posts make me think that everyone is missing the big picture here:

When Heuermann is ultimately charged with, and then faces trial for, the murder of Karen Vergata, will Asa Ellerup be called as a witness to dispute the claims of testimony of witness who has already signed a sworn affidavit attesting visiting Hueuermann’s home with her then boyfriend, who was an NYPD officer at the time, along with Vergata, for swinger party that Asa Ellerup was also allegedly present for?

I think the prosecution is a long way from charging RH for the murder of Vergata, or even proving that RH was the last person to see her. I am guessing that there is no DNA or other forensic evidence, so far, to connect him to the remains
If the defense wants to use a cooperative wife as a witness, there is nothing to prevent that.

I didn't hear about the swinger party. WOW
