These two in a thriller of any kind - no makeup artist needed really.:p
Personally, I want Heuermann to have an excellent attorney and representation because when he's convicted, I want it to stick. Have you ever wondered if the judge who assigned Michael Brown had a difficult time selecting an attorney he COULD appoint for a case of this notoriety? The judge knows it will be media fodder for years, every word, every nuance will be examined and discussed . . . . Would not it be a huge responsibility just to appoint an attorney in such a case?

The man charged with killing three New York women more than a decade ago appeared in court Wednesday. Prosecutors charged Rex Heuermann back in January after DNA evidence linked him to one of the victims at Gilgo Beach. Heuermann has pleaded not guilty. CBS News correspondent Lilia Luciano has more on Heuermann's court appearance.'

''Jeff Sample, the owner of Precision Lawn Service in Virginia, says he remembers Heuermann as a towering, aggressive architect from New York City.
"He was just arrogant, kind of the 'I'm better than you' kind of feeling," he says "He just seemed like a jerk."
Sample says he agreed to do landscaping work at the Palymra home of Heuermann's mother, Dolores.
"It was just to basically go clean up the yard because it was all overgrown and a mess, and I kind of remember him complaining. He had a big dumpster there, he asked us to throw some stuff in the dumpster and he didn't like the way we put it in," says Sample.
When the work was completed, Sample says he sent a bill to Heuermann in New York but never received payment.
"A month later still no payment. Another month later still no payment," he says. Sample took legal action and filed a civil suit in Virginia in January 2019.''
I really hope the VSP revisit RH in relation to the 29 Stalker and the murder of Alicia Showalter Reynolds- whose murder, dump site in 1996, mirrors those of the dumping of Jessica Taylor and the other Manorville victims. I suspect he evolved in his method of finding victims and later cut away identifying features and began dismembering before deciding that was not necessary.

Note his new haircut and the 1996 composite pictures. He absolutely matches the description and drawing and the 29 Stalker also chose to drive a green pickup truck

In this account, the pickup truck is described as being blue, but still...

Link to Route 29 stalker

Witnesses describe him as being 5'10" to 6' tall. LE reported that at least 20 women had reported seeing the guy and being stalked by him. He would use the ruse of following the women, flagging them down and telling them there was something wrong with their car.

If this was Rex H, he'd have to be spending a lot of time in that area around Charlottesville, VA at that time. JMO

Thanks for the link. What I found most interesting is this quote from Michael Brown, defense atty: “We’re talking about one hair that was found on one victim,” Brown said. “When we say ‘it’s his DNA,’ you have to remember that with mitochondrial DNA, they have an exclusion pool and an inclusion pool. They exclude a significant amount of the population, and include a small percentage, and they have said that my client is inclusive in that small percentage. But when you look at the metropolitan area, where there’s 25 million people, the included pool is still pretty significant.”

HOWEVER, he completely neglected to mention RH's hair was found along with a hair matching his wife's and children's mitochondrial DNA -- now two hairs on tape on one victim that matches a husband and wife duo --- doesn't that really, really, really narrow down the possibilities?

Seriously, does he really think people pay NO attention?
Ok, ok, Mr. Brown, one hair. Then what say YOU, Michael Brown, in reference to the now 13,000 pages of discovery? No comment? Apparently not. Sheesh

Wow, K. Uncanny! Thanks for the side-by-side.

He was leaning into the engine compartment with the hood up. The pickup was a greenish turquoise- more green than blue hues.

The artist's sketch sure looks like him. It wouldn't be surprising if he tried this in different location, while visiting to help his mother.

The unidentified man is described as thirty-five to forty years old (in 1996), 5'10" to 6'0" tall, with a medium build, reddish brown hair, and may use the name Larry Breeden. Witnesses noticed that he tended to brush his hair back frequently with his left hand. He has used several vehicles, including a dark Nissan pickup truck. He is believed to have started his "rehearsals" in February 1996. Several men named "Larry Breeden" have been questioned, but all have been ruled out.

Have we seen RH doing that?? Perhaps during interview with the Frenchman??

For some reason I have a visual memory of that. However, it could just be my mind playing tricks on me because I just read that. I will have to revisit the video after work. MOO

Because his "bangs"/forehead curls are always hanging to his right side, it would be conspicuous, if he used his left hand to put the bangs/curls to the opposite side. But he is the type of man, who does things different than most other people, I can imagine. Started as an uptight teenager and then kept it, perhaps. MOO

Took another look and cannot say that he does the hair thing with his hand, he does tend to use both hands, fingers (nails less than clean, imo) spread and gesturing in a side to side motion, imo, speculation, imo.

Wouldn't it be simple for LE to check all former vehicle registrations in RH's name? Maybe even in his mother's since she was the one living in that area and other people in the household. Does make you wonder what RH drove before the Avalanche.

Rex has been very consistent with hairstyle over the years, parting his waves so the heavy side is over his right hand. often growing it to partially cover ears and the back of his collar. I think the first wedding photo is a bit too grainy to tell, but it does resemble the sketch. as does his HS portrait.

The wedding picture mouth is almost a perfect match.

According to that write up, police have a hair and finger prints that probably belong to her murderer. So if its him, they probably have a decent case. If it's not him, they will probably have a solid rule out.

I think we need a time line of Rex's life and cars. His sisters and mother move a decent amount. Rex seems to dislike change...

I'm trying to remember the year of Rexs second deposition when he walked into a moving car. I think it was 2021 that he said he drove to Virginia several times within a year, about half of the trips with his wife.

He also drove to FL a lot.

I don't know when he bought his property in SC, but I presume he drove there several times.

I wonder if he had been making trips to or through VA around that time. He had a toddler daughter and a school age step son, right?

(BTW, in the same depo, he stated he flew to Las Vegas. One murder victim from that area has legs dumped half way home to LI by car...but I haven't heard of him doing the drive to and from AZ yet. He does seem like a person who would like driving even as far as AZ because he doesn't like change, he's big for an airline seat, and he loves guns, which can't easily be flown. But he certainly flew to AZ at least once.)
