My understanding is that in NY, DNA cannot be entered into CODIS until after conviction unless there is probable cause to test. I can only imagine what else police will find once RH is convicted and they can enter his DNA into the national database.

Did the information that got LE looking in Manorville come from Bittrolff or his attorney? Pretty sure the sequence of events was Bittrolff files appeal for new trial, LE digs in Manorville, digs in Massapequa Park, files news charges. Since Castilla had originally been assumed to be Bittrolff's victim that they just couldn't prove it (left shoe also missing, as with Rita Tangredi and Colleem McNamee), it would mean that Bittrolff spilled on his co-murdering buddy Rex or that Bittrolff was trying to exonerate himself completely by pinning it on Rex (but how would he know??).

For Michael Brown, there's only one defense left, i.e. that LE fabricated Rex's Murder Diary because they realized their DNA evidence was too thin. On its face, seems a preposterous claim, but a defense attorney needs to sow doubt in just one juror's mind, that's the game.

One thing I hope we don't begin to lose sight of is the fact that, just because he may have dismembered or mutilated one victim in his home during a certain time period, that doesn't mean that he might not have also killed another victim via strangulation in a hotel or in his vehicle during the same time period. I say that because I was convinced pretty early on that LISK didn't dismember, and I think it made me overlook some UID's because I thought I had this guy figured out. BOY, was I mistaken !

And it looks like he changed the ways he did things on purpose to throw off his scent to LE. It was part of his game of the hunt! MOO.

His first wife moved out in September 93 and Sandra was killed in November. His mom had moved out prior to the wife. So I think you're right. If he's not responsible for any of the 1980s victims, Sandra was likely his first.

I read it years ago. It is basically a textbook on profiling. There's a series documentary of the same name that is really good but it has some things thrown in to make it movie like.

Well, they knew the hair that was found on Sandra wasn't Bittrolff's. He was excluded from contributing it.

So if it was left by her killer, they had to look elsewhere. And their microscopic examination of RH's life would have showed them that at the time Sandra was killed, he lived alone.

He needed to be ruled out, but that didn't happen. The hair was his.

I don't know what this is going to mean for JB, but I suspect that his DNA on his two victims is still going to be the stronger argument than a variation on the SODDI defense. And I don't see him sitting in prison for a decade on his tod if he did it with RH without saying a word.

And RH doesn't strike me as the sort to share. I think he's a loner, not someone who wants a partner-killer.

I ruled out Tina early on because she had no known history of being an escort. I had it right that he was a hunter, and hunting was part of his gratification, but I now wonder if he might also seized on random opportunities when they presented themselves. I'm trying to readjust my view of this monster in light of what we now know, so I'm taking Foglia off my rule out list. Good to know there was DNA obtained in her case. I don't think I knew that previously, or if I did, I forgot. Thanks for pointing that out.

ETA: I also feel as if I need to move Sugar Bear up a little higher on my list now. I had him/her a pretty low on my list because he/she didn't fit LISK'S "type". If he had a bucket list, for lack of a better word, than I might as well throw my list right out the damned window. Ugh.

It’s interesting ~ it seems as though the earlier victims that we know of where dismembered and discarded farther away from his home, some of their body parts scattered closer to his home and as time went in he got bolder in keeping the bodies closer to home, and his work was a little more “organized”, keeping Melissa, Meghan, Maureen and Amber wrapped and closer together, almost in alignment. Was he “evolving” in a way as he became more experienced? I don’t know what to make of this.

I don't think "evolve" is the word I would use, but clearly his MO changed over the years. Whether that was because it had to change because he was feeling some heat or whether it was because he could simply check something off as "been there/done that"...I dunno. Yesterday dropped a nuclear bomb on me, in that it made me realize that this guy is absolutely beyond my scope of understanding and experience. I just thought of something pertaining to his first marriage which could play a key role.
That is if Sandra was his first?

IMO:

RH's 1990 marriage to ER may also have been his first real intro to available sex with a woman, I have yet to hear anything about RH having prior girlfriends.

Who knows what fantasies RH brought into the marriage that had excited him to pleasure before the marriage and how/if he lived out those fantasies in his head while having sex with his first wife because otherwise he couldn't be sexually satisfied and if he did experience some level of satisfaction it still left him wanting.

ER left him and moved out of the residence for reasons , reasons that so far we don't know or may never know, hopefully LE knows.

After his wife left him RH then proceeded to finally live out his fantasies with escorts?

Then when he met and married AE he was able to have the family cover and still continue with his sadism/killing.??

Sometimes we like to predict how perps will actually function in their new homes. Prisons. Especially the ones who we think will get mauled once in prison.

I think RH will actually have "inquiring minds" prison buddies .... giving his a sense of gloating pride ...even in prison!!

We do know that soon after his arrest RH became buddies with 'Happy Face".

From the photo of RH's court appearance yesterday it looks like he's getting lotsa butter for his bread.

Isn't he currently kept separated from the prison population?
