John Ray completely discredited himself. I can't believe anyone still takes him seriously.

I take John Ray very seriously and regard him with some reverence.

I don't recall a single false statement. I don't understand what is not serious about him, unless you are referring to superficial matters of opinion like fashion. I guess purples and maroons are not serious to some people?

He has worked tirelessly to call out the false narratives regarding Shannan's murder. He has made information, particularly the 911 call and affidavits by Pak and Brewer available.

Shannan's family is not wealthy. They do not have money to pay attorneys. If money is the motivation for representing Shannan's family/estate, he has picked the wrong client!

Of course I take John Ray seriously. And I am very thankful for his work towards justice for Shannan.

Amen to this. He's poured his own money into these cases. I've actually heard comments about how some people think he's like an ambulance chaser of sorts, and I really get ruffled by it. This guy is doing what most lawyers wouldn't even dream of doing and throwing his money behind what he views as a worthy cause, and he's absolutely right, it is one. He's done so, so much for these cases. The victims in these cases have suffered tremendously. How much do we hear about that from AE's Peacock special? I came away from that documentary feeling like I was being taken to the woodshed for having caused AE's suffering. Because you know, RH-- he didn't do it. And it's like hours of softball questions for AE.

Seriously?? It has to drive JR to distraction that when people come on various media calling his witnesses unreliable and/or flat-out liars, those in RH's inner circle (known and speculated) are given hall passes for just about anything. Why?

It must tick some people off that Ray will not be gaslit into thinking Shannan caused her own demise when all the evidence, starting with her reporting her impending murder, pointing to murder.

There is no rational reason to believe Shannan was not murdered; at best people intending to harm her "accidentally" murdered her.

For some reason, there is a resistance to justice for some crimes in the area, including solving certain murders. Simultaneously, the Suffolk County detectives have a historic rate of murders solved by confession, and rates that high suggest a number of false confessions and/or a poor follow-up on murders where confessions do not fall into the detectives' laps. The LE institutions do not suffer from poor funding or being undersized.

I think Shannan's murder, like identifying and arresting Rex, is caught up in that "for some reason." And one way to resist justice is to attempt to discredit people pushing for justice.

John Ray is one of those people.

Great question now that you mention it.

Since she's capable to be in close physical contact with him and speaks with him I'd say he made her day and she made headlines.
If he goes to trial it will be interesting to see if she does any direct/cross examining.
A few years ago it became the go-to for high profile cases where men were charged with SA to have a female attorney defending them.
The purpose is for it to hopefully take the sting out of males defending males against a female victim with the jury and pit female against female hoping the jury will believe the female attorney as she does some form of character assassination on the victim.
Granted all the victims are deceased but the strategy remains.
Looking forward to opening statement where RH is portrayed as a loving, devoted husband and father,

Not being insensitive to SA victims but what RH is accused of doing transcends evil as we've come to define it.

At same time, the bolded statement doesn't match AE's life experience at all. And is nothing that she would ever be able to say in regards to RH.

Even though I was not impressed with Ray's witness and her delivery of events she claimed took place that night if any of it is true she may have gotten it mixed up with AE's praising of RH and what AE says she owes him with her having also been told by AE that she was "adopted" from Iceland or came to US from Iceland.
As far as I am aware there's been no deep vetting of AE's childhood.

Well said. Shannans family is the underdog in this case. JR certainly can't get rich from defending them. Maybe he is all about justice and wanting the corrupt to be held accountable. Imo

Still waiting on any updates on where AE was in the days before/when Tanya Jackson's dismembered body was discovered on June 28, 1997 and she had been deceased for only a few days.
Her timed summer vacations with the children certainly fit RH's mode operandi and VH would have been approx.8 months old and old enough to travel via plane to Iceland.
AE's lawyer Macedonio is usually on top of when AE was out of town but so far crickets unless I missed it.

I agree staying away from the Satan stuff is probably wise...it doesn't really add to the evidence and it can't be used as an aggregator in a trial. unless say they found pentagrams carved onto the victims or. other physical evidence directly associated with the victims.

the satan angle is interesting but most people I have seen dabbling in this dark arts stuff are basically little high school goth girls who want to be edgy and cool. ..not to negate some of the more serious allegations and craziness that is well known about satanism and some of the crazy evilness it inspires.

But it is an attention getter.. maybe it was a good way to get peoples attention regarding some of the other peculiarities around the H family.

I'll throw in that his production team can't produce, and indeed know nothing about producing media. But again, this is not about his credibility.

That was the vibe I got early on....he was getting ready to trash her ability to report what she saw should she have decided to support the prosecution.

Everything that came out of Macedonias mouth seems to benefit himself or Rex. He has only helped Asa damage her reputation. He has done worse things to better people, but I'm still furious at him on behalf of Asa, with whom I hardly want to align. She has way to much hostility towards the murder victims for my taste, so maybe I shouldn't care, but she is being abused by her own attorney.

A random thought just came to mind.

In the circa 2000 HK document, Rex stated to use push pins, not tape.

In the late aughts, Rex used tape to bound 3 of the GB4 allegedly.

Maybe his reason for using push pins not tape was less about tape's tendency to collect evidence than I had assumed.

(And, the belt for the GB victim who was not taped famously collected evidence.)

Also, tape on a victims body is far more risky regarding evidence trapping then tape hanging tarps, which presumably can be done in advance of bringing evidence into the room.
