Sorry jumping in, I’m not an expert.
IMO, It’s going to be LWOP, NY state does not normally have DP. That’s RH’s benefit, no trial and LWOP. Hope he is made to tell details about each crime. I think the prosecutor is just happy to have this done( when he pleads in court).
Regarding the person missing near Rex Huermann’s brother in S Carolina. S Carolina probably is a DP state, anyone know? I can’t remember if they found her? Been awhile.

South Carolina legally allows capital punishment, primarily for murder with aggravating circumstances, such as killing a law enforcement officer, committing murder for hire, multiple homicides, or murder during another violent felony. Totally agree, Asa knew! That downstairs room, no one let in. Rex’s personality, busy with his “own activities” while family was on vacation elsewhere. I think, even the daughter knew. I don’t understand why Asa and daughter were not investigated more. The son, maybe did not know because of disability.

Anyway, good if Rex will plea out, LWOP. JMO

Save the taxpayers some money, as appeals take years. Let him rot!

Bob Macedonio talks about AE having had marital problems and had even considered a divorce yet that never garnered any media attention and she continued to say throughout that the man she was married to for 27 yrs is not capable of the crimes he is charged with.

He said for 7-10 yrs AE had different cancers and treatments plus we know she was financially dependent on her husband and that her son CS was dependent on her and that BM claimed she lived in her own world.
Yet while living in her own world then what ever could AE have seen or known about RH that rose to contemplating a divorce?

Suspect in Gilgo Beach serial killings expected to plead guilty, sources say

Rex Heuermann, who is accused of murdering seven women, is expected to plead guilty April 8, a source familiar with the matter said.

"John Ray, an attorney for Valerie Mack's son, said that his client was "cautiously awaiting the facts." Ray added that if a deal is struck, much will depend on the information presented during a potential allocution.

"If the full facts do not come out, make no mistake, we are going to pursue this," he said. "It's not over."

Ray added that his client wants authorities to investigate Heuermann's wife and children, who have not been criminally charged with any wrongdoing.

A lawyer representing Heuermann's wife, Asa Ellerup, did not immediately return a request for comment.'

NGL, I did not predict this turn of events. If I had wagered, I'd have put my money on Rex entertaining himself for the rest of his life with appeals and court processes.


But negotiating a plea deal is the smartest thing to do.


There are two materially beneficial reasons to plead guilty with the advocacy and advice of an attorney:


1) negotiate the sentencing terms, where incarcerated, what privileges, etc.
2) mitigate civil court exposure

John Ray is implying some of the harm done to victims might get buried and be less possible to sue for damages. Also, he is suggesting that family members may be civilly liable to harm to his clients and potential clients.

Yes! I didn't even think of that and it could be a treasure trove for LE for all levels of SA he may have inflicted on women throughout the years including murder.

I'm curious just how far his defense attorney Brown will push in the negotiations?
Like if a match pops up in CODIS he can't be prosecuted, if that is even possible to grant someone in a guilty plea.
Like a blanket pardon similar to what a president can bestow.
No matter what agreement they arrive at Judge Mazzei has to sign off on it.

She can sign another Peacock deal, collect another million for herself and $450,00 for each of her 2 children.
Then Peacock can hire a forensic therapist who will explain then and there to AE and the millions of viewers how AE was able to live with a serial killer who had a severe fixation on violent sexual fantasies including children, dismembering and murder and the possibility of having done so in her home all without her ever having a clue that something was amiss.
The message is there's nothing more to see here kids.

They'll diagnose AE as a classic victim meanwhile this victim has never once claimed she suffered any kinds of abuse by her husband, he was and remained her hero even with all the info available to her from the investigation.

I still believe that her attorney Macedonio and Michael Brown were in cahoots from the get-go.
They once were law partners and RH was assigned Brown on Friday the day after he was arrested and the next day, Saturday, Macedonio got in touch with AE and began representing her.

Oh man, I'd love to know why he's doing it. There's a serious and substantive angle to it somewhere for him, jmo. I'm not enough of a legal person to know exactly what it is. But I bet it gets into legalities and technicalities-- big stakes level-- because if we were dealing with raw emotion, we see how this person "expresses himself."

The 1920s building code side of him has fully entered the room, jmo.

It'll be good to see all of his many talents firmly in a cell, lock the door and throw away the key. And let me tell you,that prison's in much better shape than that ramshackle Green Acres mess he had going on before, but jmo.

Jumping in...I always thought something seemed very off about Asa. I'm not saying she did/did not suspect, but she seemed off and when someone is "off" I don't know if they perceive things the same commonly held way (e.g. RH overall would creep me out + don't go to the room downstairs etc, but to someone "off" it might not resonate the same...) IDK not an excuse, but I can't imagine he targeted someone to marry that would be difficult to control, deceive or who had a normal world view - given the vibes/weirdness he seemed to exude. I'm not ascribing good intentions to her, but she just didn't seem "all there" to me..

We see that he's quite obese, probably has a very poor diet and suffers from lack of exercise.
Is a broken leg or torn muscle considered a health issue?

We don't know what she was like before RH was arrested and it became international news.
All we saw is the face and actions she wanted to show the public.
Yesterday I posted an old interview with her lawyer and Chris Cuomo where Macedonio said there were marital problems and she had considered divorcing him.

What were those marital problems Asa?
Things you caught him doing throughout the years that you chose to ignore and then they were thrown back in your face when faced with what the prosecution found during their investigation?

I see her as becoming his loving public defender as a ruse to try and protect herself and that she thinks it's the proof needed to convince her critics that the RH she was married to for 27 yrs can not be the man the state accuses him of being.

What estate?
AE's the one rolling in money.
Does his homeowners insurance (assuming he carried it) cover your murders in your home if there is evidence?
He's broke and had signed the house over to AE.

Melissa Moore, daughter of Happy Face killer started a fundraiser for AE and her children.
Moore closed it down when AE/Children signed peacock deal and Moore signed a deal too as some kind of producer or director.

All good points. I hadn’t considered whether a plea deal would hinder victims and their families from seeking civil damages. If so, that would be incredibly unfair.

I wonder if Asa will remain attached to him and the murder cases? She’ll probably remain semi attached to him and the cases, if for no other reason than to continue to benefit financially via interviews books, etc.
