Useful info and .... oh boy, do I have a reaction.

Smug, self-satisfied, into details that others don't know, likes to solve difficult challenges that others would find overwhelming.

A hiding-in-plain-sight sort of day. I wonder if part of him is proud his serial work will now be recognized. Gross.

Apparently, he's never been able to solve the difficult challenge of how to clean and maintain his home. It's a dump, interestingly for an architecht

Makes one also wonder if other sites were also in use? Maybe owns other properties or has ties to them as well? And possibly other individuals associated too? MOO.

One of the victim's sister received taunting phone calls. Are those available to listen to online? Now that we hear his voice in the segment with the French interviewer, we could compare. Or has that audio not been released?

He was finally arrested after being linked to the so-called “Gilgo Four” through DNA, the sources explained.
Police outside the house in forensic gear.

Just a thought on the DNA. Speculation.
If RH had been under surveillance for any length of time, LE may have collected DNA from something he discarded publically, trash, a drinking cup, etc.

The cooler is chilling (pardon the pun). I would think possible "trophies" etc, but a cooler? 13 years later? I am scratching my head here.

Their feed froze on my TV not sure about stream. They said they expect him to be indicted in a few hours and will have a PC with all LE and DA at 4

Heck yeah!! What great news to see upon coming into the house on a gardening break!! I am so thankful that at least 4 families may finally get some answers and justice!!

Judging by his house, not the kind of architect that I'd want designing anything for me!!

How could they match him to burner phones from ten years ago?

The only thing I can think of is the previous team of investigators may have subpoenaed that evidence, but didn't know how or couldn't do anything with it. IIRC, commercial/consumer cell phone tower data isn't usually retained very long.

I've never heard of those calls being released-doubtful that they have been. It'd certainly be interesting to hear them to compare.

Wow, from his interview.. boy, he really doesn't look like a serial murderer... but heck, I guess they all come in different shapes and sizes and personalities.

Glad they got him. Assuming he had not been arrested previously... so probably was just a general genealogy DNA search.. led to a relative (or himself)

Hmmm, wondering what would be in there. I really feel that he kept trophies and they will find them.

WANTAGH, NY – APRIL 15: An aerial view of police cars near where a body was discovered in the area near Gilgo Beach and Ocean Parkway on Long Island on April 15, 2011 in Wantagh, New York.

Police have been conducting a prolonged search of the area after finding ten sets of human remains. Of the ten only four sets of remains have been identified as missing female prostitutes in their 20s who had been working in the online escort business. Police, working with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), suspect that a single serial killer may be in the New York area focusing on sex workers

New York authorities have taken a suspected serial killer into custody wanted in connection with the unsolved deaths of 11 people who were found in a string of killings on Long Island’s Gilgo Beach in 2010 and 2011.

The suspect is being looked at over the Gilgo Beach murders, including the so-called “Gilgo Four,” women found wrapped in burlap within days of each other in late 2010, and seven other bodies that were later eyed as possibly being connected.

The hunt for a suspect in what’s become known as “the Long Island serial killer” started more than a year before police released a 911 call made by Shannan Gilbert before she vanished in 2010, CBS News reported..

The “Gilgo Four” were later identified as Maureen Brainard-Barnes, abducted in 2007; Melissa Barthelemy in 2009; and Megan Waterman and Amber Costello, who went missing in 2010.

The full audio of Gilbert’s 911 call was released by the Suffolk County Police Department last year, as well as maps and other images showing what authorities believe happened on May 1, 2010, the night she disappeared, according to CBS News
Police released photos of a belt found during the initial Gilgo Beach investigation which they believe was handled by the perpetrator and did not belong to any of the victims

OMG thank you for this visual!

Yes, it's very small. Are you of the opinion that he kept the victims for awhile? Certainly possible in my book. Wonder if there is a shed/greenhouse in the back yard? Didn't Dennis Rader have a shed behind his house? I think he did where he kept his trophies.

they almost all have a shed out back... . mOO

I have always believed it to be more than one person (due to the differences in the victims, MO, and years) but more likely than not the killers were acquainted with each other, perhaps having shared information on where to dump a body. E.g., father and son.

Or friends.

Could be. The state of the house implies that he probably didn't have people over much -- that tracks.

I always had an image of the perp being a meticulous Patrick Bateman type, not a slob living in a rundown house. Good thing I wasn't on the task force!

oh I think he had people over at his grampas old rundown house...but they weren't family members...that's his kill pad. mOO

I agree. Looks like he inherited the house but never has bothered to maintain it much, at least on the outside. Gives me the impression he is frugal to the point of being cheap.

Maybe it's a hint of a double life - architect in the city but run-down house? Completely separate work and home life? Professional man, husband, father, but serial killer?

jmo
I wonder that too. And I wonder if his house hasn’t been renovated because of what might appear—better to keep it as-is than to risk it? MOO of course.
