The evidence was laid out in a 32-page letter by Suffolk County DA's Office explaining why he shouldn't be granted bail.

It details how a new task force set up by Suffolk County DA last year came across his name within months of investigation, prompting questions about why previous investigative units failed to nail him.

Heuermann's first link to the case is through the Chevrolet Avalanche truck that he owned in 2009 and 2010, when the women were murdered.

The vehicle was seen at the homes of at least one of the victims the day before she went missing.

Heuermann also matches the description of an 'ogre' like man visited one of the victims the night before she died.

In that case, he is said to have arranged a meeting with Amber Costello for sex at her home.

LE had enough good tips to catch him. It's infuriating they didn't even tried.

Thank you very much.

Heuermann's attorney, Michael J. Brown, told reporters that the accusations against his client are "extremely circumstantial in nature," and he said Heuermann has denied any involvement.

"The only thing he did say, as he was in tears, was 'I didn’t do this,'" Brown said. "He's distraught. He's clearly distraught about the charges here."

He says evidence is circumstantial. I thought the cell phone pings could be possibly discounted as there are literally thousands of people in midtown Manhattan around the cell towers....but he took selfies with the phones! Bam.

John Ray — a lawyer who represents the family of Shannan Gilbert, whose disappearance and search led to the “Gilgo Four” and other remains being discovered — says that he does not know if the suspect, Rex Heuermann, was responsible for his client’s death.

“Even though with those facts in mind it's true to say we breathe a great sigh of relief,” he said. “We’re happy the police are finally taking a positive step in this respect, but this is just the beginning this is just this is just the edge of a bigger body of water shall we say of murder that has taken place.”

Gilbert’s death has not been linked to the Gilgo Beach investigation by officials, who say “Gilbert’s death is not consistent with her being the victim of violence or of a violent offender,” but rather “an unfortunate accident.”

Ray also represents Gilgo Beach victim Jessica Taylor. He adds, “We don’t know if he is connected to Jessica Taylor’s murder. We have no idea yet,” he added

It’s fascinating to read how they tracked his burner phones and connected them to him geographically.

He also set up burner phones using a fictitious aol email account in 2011. Then in December, 2022, used his own phone to access that same email account. How brazen.

Agenda Free TV is live covering this

Never thought I would see the day! Thank God that this monster has been apprehended and is locked up, away from women.

Wow, to say that I didn't see this coming would be a massive understatement. He wasn't on anybody's radar (outside law enforcement) and that just goes to show what keeping your lips sealed can do. He was actively researching the case whilst detectives were simultaneously putting the pieces together.. Awesome.

However, it is still worth noting that he is innocent until proven guilty. But what can I say, it's hard not to contain my excitement over this arrest.

He can boo hoo to his attorney all he wants, but after just skimming through the bail docs, they've got him. Those burner phones didn't take those selfies all by themselves.
