I think that's the point. I would venture a guess that before it's all over everything will be removed. Especially since they feel that one or more of the of the women were killed inside that house. Anything could have been touched etc.
Once the place is cleared out we wiil most likely see all the floors walls ceiling etc opened/removed etc. Just a horrific thing to digest for a stranger let alone for his immediate family JMO

Of all the cases I've followed when residences are searched, I've never seen such an extensive amount of items seized.

it’s been 13+ years, they are probably leaving no stone unturned, they are going to go over every square inch of that house and it’s contents with a fine-toothed comb.

I for one am really impressed with the entire task force and investigation team and the technology that they’ve been able to use in this case so far.

This is where the topic of Bounty paper towels comes from. Rex must have a storage building on the property.

He has just shy of 22 acres total with the 4 lots in South Carolina.

3 of the lots abut one another, and one is across the street.

Looking at the GIS map, the parcel for the "1031 Rippling Brook Rd" has one, if not 2 commercial/storage buildings you can see from overhead. There is water access on this lot as well.

Heuermann not watching the news while in jail is interesting to me. If all reports are true, he was extremely interested in the case and especially interested in talking to people about it. Getting their ideas but also sharing his. If he watches the news he can't respond. The narrative is out of his control. Maybe he doesn't want others to see him mad. It seems like he has some sort of self control. We know he is able to have dates with sex workers and not kill. Maybe he waits until the second or third date. He's a hunter. Since LE has some of the phone records, they'll know. IMO, theres already enough evidence to put this guy away forever but it's always nice to have more.

I thought seeing himself in the news might be an ego stroke for him but apparently not. But, it may hinge on the fact... as you say, "the narrative is out of his control" so... maybe he's keeping himself under control?

“If you ask me, I don’t believe, that they knew about this double life that Mr. Heuermann was living,” Suffolk County police commissioner Rodney Harrison said of the suspect’s family.

But authorities are not ruling anything out yet and are continuing to collect information “to see if the family might have known exactly what Mr. Heuermann was up to,” Harrison told CNN’s Erica Hill Monday.

On Wednesday, less than a week since her husband’s arrest, Ellerup filed for divorce, her attorney Robert Macedonio told CNN.

She was shocked to hear what her husband is accused of, Harrison said.

But she unknowingly played a key role in her husband’s arrest: it was her DNA, among other evidence, that authorities say helped tie Heuermann to the crimes.

Heuermann and Ellerup were married in April 1996, the suspect said in a 2018 deposition. Since then, they lived in Heuermann’s red and green childhood home in the Long Island suburb of Massapequa Park with their daughter and Heuermann’s stepson.

Neighbors described the home as creepy and the family as distant, according to the Long Island Press, a monthly magazine serving Long Island.

“The family is very to themselves, quiet,” neighbor Frankie Musto told the publication. “We never saw anything suspicious.”

In his 2018 deposition, Heuermann said he had been married once before. That marriage, he said, lasted three years and they had no children

Despite having years of outstanding taxes on the Massapequa Park house, RH is up-to-date on his property taxes on the 4 lots he owns in Chester County, SC.

Surprisingly, the taxes on those unimproved lots ($5,500) are only $500 less than the taxes on the Massapequa house ($6,020).

And there it is. There is a strong likelihood he killed at least one at his home, as I suspected. And that's why they're focused so hard on every little thing in that house. It's a crime scene, not just a nest.

Beyond coverage of the murders, I also think he knows his dilapidated house, possessions, finances, the horrors found in the house are also in the news and up for public scrutiny, to his humiliation. At least, I would expect him to feel shame. But who knows - maybe he simply doesn't care.

We do know he had a designer, Katherine Shepherd, coming in to look and take specs and that she worked with him on a remodeling project for the home in 2005. There have also been reports from others about the state of the house more recently. I'm starting to think the Massapequa house was a little tiny version Winchester House and just constantly under construction. Lots of ghosts. Fixing and sealing it up piecemeal. Maybe the boards seen being carried into the house today are bracing something.
